    Titan Quest: Ragnarok (2017) is an action RPG and a welcome expansion to a game created in 2006. Titan Quest is best
    compared to Grim Dawn, a more recent title, in its mechanics and overall form - the emphasis is on solo progression rather than online trading of items.
    Pick up the Ragnarok expansion if you enjoy character building as I believe this release excels at itemization, but first try the Anniversary Edition or play Grim Dawn to see if this style of aRPG is your jam.

    For the passive procs, if nothing has changed in anniversary, they were all on the same roll. For example, with the 3 defense passives at 20%: 1-20=proc1, 21-40=proc2, 41-60=proc3, 61-100=normal attack. If the sum was above 100%, they were used as weights. (If I remember correctly from the forum posts)

    Great video Clex Plays, so detailed as easy to follow. It is rare to see Titan Quest videos made by native English speakers, which can make it difficult to understand or find information so I hope you continue making your videos! :-)
    I would be very interested in a video focused on blocking chance, recovery time as those details are no longer on our character panel. Armour absorption/protection would be great too.

      Thanks, I am glad this helped! As for Block/Armor/Regen etc, I have covered those topics in the "Advanced Defenses Guide" video. I have some extra visual stuff for how shields work on the Conqueror build guide. Topic time stamps in the comments.

    Nice overview, thanks for doing this.
    Small (merely historical) note: Elemenatal DoT has always scaled with Intelligence. "Elemental Damage" did not, even though it was applied as 1/3rd of each element. And "+% to Elemental" did not use to buff DoTs, which it does now.
    And yes, %total just adds its % to every damage % modifier.

      You are correct about the scaling, thanks! I meant to describe the anniversary change with DoT scaling from the change log and had it backwards in my notes.

    I got a question and suggestion:
    Question:
    I have heard Ice Shards skill is viable in the end game difficulty. As an oracle (spirit+storm), what are the advantages/disadvantages of casting vs attacking? I have this question because I feel like you either go Ternion or Ice Shards... would you be able to point out pros and cons?
    Suggestion:
    Also I think you should consider a video series of creating the best skill builds in each mastery combination. See it more like a puzzle... With Atlantis expansion, I see a lot of videos, but they usually rely on specific legendary items or sets to work. With your knowledge of game mechanics I believe you could easily spot the best "starter skill builds" you can do in each combination while defining the following:
    -skills (obviously)
    -advised attribute allocation
    -type of weapon
    -top 3 or 5 stats to look for in items that benefit the build the most
    Maybe you can even showcase them in both crowd and boss environments using only yellow or green gear shopped from merchants.

      Just Storm Nimbus is enough to significantly improve Ternion Attack
      You can get Dark Covenant for Ice Shard Energy requirements but you can only have one damage type but with Ternion Attack you can have one Lightning Staff and one Cold Staff also Dark Covenant would not allow you to tank due to Health depletion while Ice Shard requires you to stay like a turret
      Druid should be Ice Shard user in my opinion not Oracle as Nature lacks LMB

    Hi Clex ! have a question.. does a weapon like kalar'c convincer (15% chance to do +200% physical damage) affects damage skills like crushing blow?

      - Crushing Blow just added bonus listed amount of physical dmg when you do weapon attacks (both weapon default hits and skill using weapon dmg) and special skills that work like separate weapon (Throwing Knives, Blade Barrier, Shen Pao and the grants skill on Mantle of the Medjai torso armor (Eternal Embers dlc item).
      - +% dmg type and +% chance to +%dmg type sources boosting all weapon and skill attacks which has that dmg types boost. Retaliation/Reflected dmg don't get benefit from those modifieds.

    The thing about shotguns is that, even though it is possible, most have high DoT components that do not stack. Also these are rather for caster builds to whom getting that close is more risky.
    Still very powerful if used right, but not as broken as it could be.

      Agreed, those shotguns would be very broken if DoT stacking was a thing, but the sheer number of projectiles w. ice shards and Knives at 200% cast speed and the straight x5 or x10 weapon damage multiplier (with added scaling) from Thunder Strike (albeit, only with certain weapons like spears) still makes them OP in my book.
      Another example is high attack speed ternion needing more than one nerf since vanilla :P

    ... is poison really worse than bleeding? At least it works on some lesser undead when bleeding does not ...
    ... imo Rogue is one of best starting masterys [with Storm and Earth], that poison works great and nothing is a problem before Alastor...

      Because the base damage for poison is typically high, lesser undead will still die quickly because of their low health. This is despite their innate 70% (I believe I mistakenly said 80 in vid) damage absorb vs poison.
      All undead, unless otherwise specified, have this absorb since Anniversary Edition. You will notice it more in acts 4-5.

      Just have an extra weapon with " +% damage to Undead" combined with Djed of Osiris relic on your second weapon slot for those cases, or the weapon with augmented elemental damage.
      Alastor is not a problem for bow rogue (brigand) build.

    quick note for the reduce resistance among study prey, plague and squall -> here is my theory: what if the reason why u can´t stack the affixes is because of the attack origin ? one being AoE-radius and the other ones being directly applied on a target. What would happened if you apply a squall over another squall within its 6 sec duration ? or different types of AoE... (i am thinking it might stack this way). Good content otherwise, learned a few things i didn´t know.
    You could have also cover a topic - using energy drain (the accursed; of siren) as a part of offense greatly increasing survivability.
    I think people really underestimate the simplicity of its power - Bosses have very high resistances to leeching, but when u use this %energy drain affix the dmg is not important at all, but its use is in eliminating the presence of the attacks other then basic attack. (u won´t even need resistances)
    Majority of the Bosses (if not all of them), heroes and rest becomes piece of cake cause they need energy for the skills.
    as en example : use drain against a charon and u eliminate all of his attacks except staff(basic) attack; it will also help tremendously against onslaught(s) - minotaur boss and the rest. - u can´t dispell it by spellbreaker , but drain their energy and onslaught is gone.

      just remembered you won´t be able to stack the affixes anyway, because one affix is "reduced res. (all) and the other ones are individual. in the same sense as you can´t stack slow attack with slowed.

      I like the energy drain builds, I remember reading about them before AE. Like you, I have drained bosses recently (especially in Ragnarok with items like "The Crow") even though it is much harder. I've also toyed with magebane scrolls, which rip apart some creatures but seem to do nothing(?) against bosses. That sort of kept me away from using "the Siren" etc. TBH, I only tested this against Automatoi.
      I'll have to try them out again sometime - they certainly hurt my character when monsters use them! Do you know if the Siren effect is reduced by energy leech resistance?

      the answer is yes. energy resistance keeps you alive against %drain - like spellbreaker from liches in act3.

    Does attack speed cap at 200% still? I think it used to in TQ IT, or was this changed?

      It depends on your weapon setup. I do not remember ALL of the combinations off-hand, but dual throwing weapons is only 141% while others can be over 200%. Weapon + shield has a different cap than dual wield melee, etc.

    How does armor reduction stacks if it does? I have a 100 armor reduction from my weapon (more or less) and 200 from my Seider bones. Do those stack? :/ Tnx upfront.

    clex, you're sure sapros and aftershock don't stack?
    i'm looking at apocalypse80's guide which was also saved at kirmiziperfect
    sapros and aftershock are both flat, not %.. the wording is just like in shen-nong's dark medicine and monkey king's trickery.. both of which he classified as absolute.. and under stacking, he said absolute RR from gear stack except from weapon and weapon, and weapon and shield.. so i would assume shen-nong's and monkey kings stack.. both are flat just like sapros and aftershock

      it is not explained properly... gear slots and mastery skills directly tied to weapon attack stack additively but not in between gear and spells( two different sources-can not stack)
      -> hence the difference attack(weapon) vs. casting(spell).

    If anyone knows lmk please I couldn't find the part in video that says. If I fully convert weapon physical to elemental does it still utilize oa/da to hit even though it won't crit?

      When you converted 100%weapon (physical) base dmg to elemental dmg:
      - OA/DA mechanic still affected your melee attacks so you need decent OA to hits enemies without too much missed;
      - There is no penalty dmg when your character OA lower than enemies DA alot. But your OA lower than enemies DA alot will increased the chance to your melee attacks missed on enemies.
      - There is no "bonus" dmg come from multiplied dmg when "crit" (your character OA higher than enemies DA) anymore.

    How is damage scaling working on granted skills from items? I have 2sec cooldown bomb (from my helmet) that deals 160 physical and 120-200 fire dmg. U didnt mention granted skills on video at all :( I know -recharge stat wont work on granted skills. Would be cool if u have time and interest to investigate this matter and make video about it.

      This would depend on the affix, ele conversion will, certain -res will not ("X% Reduced Y resist"), things like chance to stun might not if the stuns are of different duration, but chances to reflect (ice-scale gear) will, despite differences in reflect magnitude.
      I suspect (untested) that fumble magnitudes will overwrite each other, either on application by application, or by favoring the larger magnitude.

      If you google titan quest hex edit, you should get an answer. It is not a supported feature and I only use it for testing.

      Yep, that's the main reason why Rune melee builds are so controversial. You need higher Int to be able to do sufficient damage with transmutation, but all gear that keeps you alive in close combat requires Str.

    just incase he doesnt mention it what happens if you aply a dot again from the same source does it get doubled or does the tick rate increase per time you hit them like in grim dawn it doesnt increase the dot it just makes it faster you still deal more dmg this way just not overall
    Edit: okay it works like grim dawn?? meaning more tick dmg so it does more dmg per sec but not more total dmg

      Applied the same amount of the same DoT type to a target just extent the duration of that DoT with the same dmg/s.
      -e.g: if your character hits enemies with a sword that deals 30 poison dmg over 3 s (mean 10dmg/s) continue attacking an enemiy, so that enemies will be damages by 10poison dmg/s all the time.

      Actually it's not really increase your real DPS overall since Battle Standard boost your physical dmg (by reduced enemies physical resistance) and almost enemies have very high pierce resistance than physical res.

    lowering pierce resistance from 20 to 0 is actually a 25% damage increase, literally unwatchable. JK, thanks for the awesome video! Just getting into TQ with a friend and I was curious about all of these mechanics, and this guide answered a ton of questions for me!

    Hey man love your videos btw, I just wanted to say that a tool call TQVault exists that allows you to duplicate items and change the seed which randomises their stats, it would make testing if pierce can overcap quite easy

      You can't converted more than 100%weapon base dmg to pierce dmg, it cap at 100%.
