what about something like Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley in Doom? you could raise pinky demons in a pin and the archvile could be the priest at the town church because he resurrects people
Ive seen a lot of really forced lines to try and make a good loop no one needs, but “where was i again? Oh yeah” manages to take top spot The loop doesnt have to be seemless. You can just not. Because its so much worse when you try it and fail this hard.

Ashes Afterglow is sort of that. Not the exact same thing, but the vibe is similar and it's extremely well made.

I feel like it’s possible to port Daggerfall to GZDoom if you know how MODELDEF, 3D Floors, Portals, and Polyobjects work.
