Sometimes I mark the bottom columns to know which ones I need to mark. Then also I will look at the 24 stitch designs and see about getting it to work on the Elna Bulky 12 stitch machine. Making our own cards can be fun. Berda
Hi Roberta, Great Videos!! Can you do this in reverse?? If you have 12 stitch cards already punched and you have blank 24 stitch punchcards can you reverse this process and make it work so you can have a 24 stitch design? Does that make sense?
I do see them come up on eBay from time to time, the table puncher is a nice accessory and my hands do not cramp as much as with the hand puncher. But when I have a small pattern like in Lace, I will use the hand puncher. Hope you can find one. Berda
It won't allow me to add a link here but if you go to my channel here in TH-cam, the link is to the right. If on a particular video, it may or may not be in the description.
Sorry but what I have to sell would be on my for sale page in my web site, and this puncher I will keep until I am no longer machine knitting. Search the net for it, you will find them but you will see that this puncher is quite expensive.
Just punch it as normal is all. You will use all 24 stitches. Although I believe some of the older machines may have been a 12 stitch card, so again, this is how you would do it. I have no problem using this or other cards on my bulky machine that is only a 12 stitch repeat card. One has to remember which way to put the card in though. Berda
Forgot to mention that I do take my bulky 12 stitch #1 punch card and use it on the standard as a bulky machine. You need to know what needles you are using for the card is all. Berda
I have tried that and the only problem is that the captions do not put my exact words in place, I have even seen swear words come up, so until I can sit at the computer and get some of them done, hard to say when.
Hi there! Thank you for all your videos---I have basically learned to machine knit from you! But there's one thing I can't seem to get through my thick skull----is how to make a 12-st repeat pattern on a punch card for 24-st repeat. I watched your video but simply cannot figure it out. I looked at my 12-st repeat cards that came with the 155 but there's not a snowflake one (like what came with the 280). So I'll have to punch my own. But still---how do I proceed? I saw in your youtube that you skip stitches? Any help would be very appreciated!
+Suzanne McNaughton It would have to be a smaller star with the 12 stitch card. If you find a design on the 24 stitch cards that are repeated across, then you can get it done. I am not sure I have even seen a snowflake for the 12 stitch cards but will keep an eye out for it. Berda
Excellent question, you most certainly can. It is going from 24 to 12 that one has to look at it to see if it will work out for the 12 st cards.
Great video just managed to transfer one of my favourite tuck stitch patterns so that I can use on my chunky machine.

I had purchased that one via eBay some time ago, they will come around from time to time.
Search "Designing Words on a Punchcard" and you will see what I did. Sorry for the lateness of this.
Roberta, do you know where I can purchase a punch card machine like the one you demonstrate with?

What brand of punch card machine is that Roberta? Look good to use. 🙂
This is a Table top puncher, forget the model name but there are a few out there, so much easier to use than the hand puncher.
where do you get a punch card puncher like that one?

I read that this will not work for 4.5 mm machines with 12 st punch cards, only for bulky machines. Any ideas how to make it work on 4.5mm machines?

Hi Roberta, could you activate subtitles for this video? Thank you
I have tried that and the only problem is that the captions do not put my exact words in place, I have even seen swear words come up, so until I can sit at the computer and get some of them done, hard to say when.
