He's a baritone has a range much like Park Jung Min and the power to back it up. I'll admit though, SHINee's got some SERIOUSLY talented vocalists. Minho's my favorite, followed by Key, Jonghyun, Onew, and Taemin. I think that part of my favoritism with Minho is he's a very stable voice and personality. The others had their voices expand and settle some into their full adult ranges since 2008 and it's done nothing but good things for them as a whole. Their growth as individuals and as a group has been phenomenal.

well, many groups have main vocalists of pretty weak techniques. he isn't notably good any means, but he's got a good tone, and though he strains in most of his falsettos, can't use vibrato or holds support in high ranges, he doesn't overdo it like many singers

As others have stated, there's so much vocal talent in Shinee that Minho gets overshadowed in that respect despite the fact that he's pretty good. Also, I noticed that his voice is "soft". Compare that to Jjong, Key, and Taemin who have "sharper" voices that pierce through the sound and Onew's caramel voice that is so warm and unique. The tone of Minho's voice blends so well with everything, he's harder to hear, even when he's singing solo. Not a bad thing, or a skill issue, it's just the tone of his voice. Also his voice is so deep and Kpop calls for high singing, even in regular lines. So baritones like him (and Key, who is a high baritone) don't get as many chances to show off.
Don't forget he also writes most of his own raps in Shinee's music.

Seriously he would be main vocal if he's in another group. I used to think he's just visual before knowing SHINee. The best part of his singing is, he's very stable and he has pleasant voice especially when singing Japanese songs. He's like an anime guy who come out to real life.

Wow!!!! I usually saw him rapping more instead of singing. When I saw him sing it would be small parts, sometimes with autotune. lol This video, however, shows me a completely different side to him. Looks like he is singing a lot more now! I'm so proud of him!!! His vocals are great!!!! He really has come a long way. What's more is that he looks way more confident now then he did back then!!! Back then he seemed alittle more self conscious but now he looks happy and confident! As others have stated, there's so much vocal talent in Shinee that Minho gets overshadowed in that respect despite the fact that he's pretty good.
Also, I noticed that his voice is "soft". Compare that to Jjong, Key, and Taemin who have "sharper" voices that pierce through the sound and Onew's caramel voice that is so warm and unique. The tone of Minho's voice blends so well with everything, he's harder to hear, even when he's singing solo. Not a bad thing, or a skill issue, it's just the tone of his voice.
Also his voice is so deep and Kpop calls for high singing, even in regular lines. So baritones like him (and Key, who is a high baritone) don't get as many chances to show off.
