I definitely relate to trying to overcome procrastination (I mean I guess everyone does to a certain extent!) but I find that even for activities I’m genuinely interested in I tend to avoid doing them and stay in a constant state of yearning and inaction. But like you said breaking the big projects into bit sized ones makes all the difference! Plus I find that for me personally, starting is always the hardest part but once I’m in ma groove it’s much more simpler 🤩 I also need to lessen my focus on instant gratification (ie: exercising and studying even though I don’t want to in the moment but they’ll make me feel better and more prepared for the day vs the instant gratification of sleeping in all day which feels good in the moment but I feel bad about in the long term) anyway thanks for the video and good luck with your own journey!!!!!!

I dropped out of college today, I was taking 18 units and i'm an art major juggling with GE classes. Every day was a battle with getting myself to do school work. I am only 18 and I feel like my life stopped. I had a hard year- I got physically assaulted and things really went down in my family... I never got a break to heal and be happy when there is still so much to be happy about.
I dropped out today and am going to focus on crocheting and building up a small business. Honestly, I can finally take a deep breath and feel peace. I love to have goals, responsibilities, and work to do. Work is good, but we tend to take blessings and turn them into curses. To all those who are taking a break like me (not just in school), remember that routine is good. It has a bigger impact on our mental health than we realize.
Keep a routine... just make it a good one. Realistic, productive, fun, light-hearted, and beneficial to yourself and others.

I have the sweatiest of hands, and downward dog was my nemesis, until I started using a simple towel at the top of my yoga mat. I just place my hands over there and I am not slipping at all. I am also wearing simple cotton socks so my feet don't slip as well. You don't need to get a new mat really, just a plain towel will do.

you should try taking online ballet classes, it is a form of indoor exercise and you get to express yourself through movement. lately, i’ve been struggling with avoiding procrastinating as well. everyday, i always think about the days where i am at my best which i am so productive and creative. i felt so useless just by thinking it. i tried so hard to beat myself and my emotions, and those unavoidable toxic habits but i can’t. i gave up a couple of times and tried to rest but it made it worse. then a thought suddenly popped up in my mind. i should just do the things i’ve done where i am at my happiest form all over again. and your video came at the right time actually. you helped me out a lot. if it isn’t because of you and your valuable words, i wouldn’t let this suffocating emotions out. thank you so much leah i love you 🥺 we can overcome ourselves, someday :)

be gentle with yourself, if you’re able to feel a bit safer when hospitalized take this time to rest! even if it’s uncomfortable, try to acknowledge that your past decisions have gotten you to this point now and thank yourself for being so strong and persevering! try to rest and see if there’s maybe an outpatient program you could do instead, where you spend your day time hours at the clinic, but can go home to sleep.

I totally feel you on feeling resistance towards a project/starting something out of the pressure to make it 'good' or even 'perfect.' The quote "done is better than good" comes to mind during those times. And I've found that changing my goal/reframing to be like "I am going to make a BAD/UGLY video/painting/drawing on purpose" gives me the permission to create and then the room to edit and change it as much as I like afterward. Hope that nugget of thinking might resonate w/some other perfectionists out there!

😭thank you, this video came out at the right time for me. I felt guilty for 'feeling low' since everything seems to go well for me but I still feel 'empty' sometimes. I'm probably too harsh on myself and it's okay not to feel okay :)

Hi! You're truly making my day, its so weird in a way, but your videos are so relatable and in a world filled with worries, I tend to rewatch your videos and it makes me feel less alone. I have started to do Qigong every morning and reading a lot about TCM, bc of you. Could you maybe talk a little about what kind of tea you're drinking and some other TCM related thing to try! Oh, and also my Chinese Zodiac sign is the rat. xx

If you want to try BH, please read my experience
    Pros:
    - Cheaper than traditional therapy. There's even a good discount for unemployed people.
    - Online is convenient not having to leave for an appointment
    - I think it can be great great for achieving goals, motivation and 'genera' support
    Cons:
    - I kept changing therapists (3 times), it had been already a 6 weeks without finding a good one & I just keep paying for no actual treatment.
This particularly seems to be a common thing (read trustpilot reviews! I also believe they have paid 5-star reviews lol they look so fake while 1 star ones actual experiences)
    - I do *not* recommend for dealing with trauma and moderate to severe disorders.
Some disorders need a really good therapist such as OCD as it's wildly misunderstood.
I had three therapist for grief/trauma and OCD. Two of which were wildly misinformed and dismissive.
Reaching out for help finally only to be dismissed is a feeling I don't wish upon anyone. One was nice but kept yawning (lmao) and the other was in a literal dark room lying down with flash on with a terrible connection blaming it on me :/
    - The other features such as 24/7 chatting is generally BS. They reply like 2 days later with one sentence. No actually in-between communication.
So you're really not paying for that.

Hi Leah! I have been using my hejhej-mat for ages now and it's the best one I have ever owned! They are recycled and closed-looped and definitely worth the investment! Even my fellow yogis and teachers fell in love with them.
    Lovely video by the way!

Norwegian Wood is such a wild book. I saw a lot of people complaining that they didn't like it because it "didn't have a plot" but it didn't have a plot in the same way that Catcher in the Rye didn't have a plot: it's about the characters and how they interact and their own personal stories and feelings. It was the kind of book that I had to sit with for a while to really think about how I felt about it. Well worth the read!

    Dear Leah,
I am currently conducting research at Dublin City University (Ireland) that examines if and how the TH-cam algorithm shapes the nature and form of content generated by TH-cam creators. This project forms the basis of my final year dissertation for the BA in Communications degree programme.
I would welcome the opportunity to conduct a short (remote) interview with you in relation to my research. Your insights and perspectives would make for a valuable contribution, and would be very much appreciated.
I understand the increased pressure on people's time in the current circumstances, but if you are agreeable to taking a short call (phone/zoom etc.), I'd be happy to arrange the interview at your convenience.
    Kind regards,
    Aileen Moore
    P.s I love your videos :))

I relate so much to the pressure you place on yourself for video editing / any kind of job - it's an all or nothing kind of feeling with high highs and low lows. I really liked the 'breaking it down' tip for the tasks - will definitely try it out for when things get overwhelming.

Hey Leah, I really enjoy your effortless style and the combination of your mostly thrifted cloths. You make me miss thrifting so much! I haven’t had the opportunity since end of November, which is when German Lockdown started... again. The sleeveless knit is probably thrifted as well? I love it and am wondering if I’d find it somewhere to purchase :-)

I thought i was the only one w/ sweaty palm probs. I got a mat made w/ a dryer material basically and it’s not super textured. You can look up “anti slip mat” + some are made with eco friendly materials! And you should also check out Cook Korean by Robin Ha, it’s a cookbook illustrated via comics!!! Definitely think you’ll enjoy

omg Leah thank you so much for this video, it's really great in terms of showing how to schedule your time on everyday basis. recently I've been really struggling to manage my time because I have 6 hours of study everyday + time for homework, cleaning, cooking, etc etc etc, which is already really hard to do sometimes, but I also desired to bring some physical activities, hobbies, quality relationship time into my routine and really couldn't understand how to deal with all of it, as 24 hours in a day seemed too little time. but now as i watched this video I realized that I shouldn't put too much pressure on myself and just set little manageable goals... it's so simple but yet so non-obvious
all in all THANK YOU LEAH and also thank you for the workouts, I'll try them right now! yeah it's me timeeee

7:20 "Where did the other six marks go?"
I remember coming back home one day from elementary school with my final exam grades. I was so happy cuz I got really good scores on them (We only had exams in Chinese, Math and English) and told my mom all about it. Don't know what exactly happened but remember end up crying because on one exam I only got 99 and not 100.
