- In this video we explain in step-by-step instructions how to sharpen your blades on an electric shaver. All we are using in this video is some vinegar and toothpaste, which makes this procedure really affordable, as opposed to purchasing expensive replacement blades, which may not even be as good as the original blades.
WOW well now that's simple yet brilliant at the same time, good demonstration thank's
Crazy this works saved me money. Thanks!
Worked like a charm! Thanks! Big saving of money!
May i know, its work for all of type of blade
Good sharing, thanks! ❤ 🤗 😊
Works thank you
Would this technique, with the toothpaste, work on the type of razor that has straight blades that move back and forth?
Yes any type of blades
Do you dry shave or use an oil on face when shaving? Is the cleaning pod wirth it? I have the 9000. Thank you.
You can use soap or Grape Seed Oil
Thank you
It works with some toothpastes particularly old fashion ones (ones containing aluminium oxide are the best for the job). However, many new toothpastes have little or no abrasive ingredients in them. In this case the sharpening will not work.
Mix toothpaste with some baking powder/soda.
Or the EXTRA Whitening style can be used.. I use it on the plastic headlights as well..cleans the haze off of them and then wash it off and do a little waxing..works great.@@alanreid250
@alanreid250 too coarse
Tooth paste is meant to be gentle to your teeth including plastic fillings, not to be abrasive on metal. I recommend using a sharpening stone for knives. Mine has two sides: 600 and 1000. A finer grain will result in an even finer edge, which then will become dull sooner. Just put the blades onto the stone and sharpen them in a circular motion.
If you want to understand this better this really isn’t sharpening… It is more akin to stropping (An important technique and blade maintenance!)
@@fenderlead1 I was going to ask, how does this even work? Surely there's not enough friction from simple toothpaste to 'sharpen' blades?!
Try it you will be surprsed. Add some baling soda for mote grit@@137dylan
Does it work with Sensodyne ?
Look for sylica in the ingredients.
Have you tried to replace the batteries?
Yes, I have done that in this video: th-cam.com/video/nXF5r-81CjE/w-d-xo.html
