    The Bishops should be ashamed, but doubt they have the capacity. Praying you, Rob, and your like-minded colleagues who are working hard and faithfully to keep the UMC from going under. Blessings!

    When we use the word "inclusion" in church we are patting sin on the head. Where do we draw the line? People have different views on different things. Man's ways are not God's ways. We need to focus on God, know his laws, live by his code of conduct, and do what he asks. If we follow what feels good to us, or what we think is right, we become lost and confused. Thank you for standing for God's truth, and defending his holy word.

    Thank God so far. I have said, this is a Blood over the Doorpost or Elijah/Baal Moment. If the denomination adopts the one church silliness of accepting blatant sin, it will be the deathnail

    I have one question and I say it with real love. If the One Church Plan were to win, I will pray long and sincerely, and decide if I can remain and support the new rules or if I should find a new church. I would ask that if the Modified Traditional Plan wins, will the other "side" promise to do the same? I mean this with no malice in my heart, but I have personally heard from others they will stay and never give up, no matter what it takes. Is that really Christ-like? I pray we can put an end to this never ending subject and move on doing God's work. The same God that created male and female for a reason.

      It seems to me that the greatest benefit of the one church plan is it would allow individual congregations to decide where they stand on these sensitive issues. The reality is fairly simple, the traditionalist plan will result in a schism, that is a 100% known quantity. The one church plan actually has a chance of allowing the church to continue as a somewhat unified body.

      @@BigSam63 Other denominations have tried it (One Church Plan type) and it didn't help. How can we have one UMC church say..."We believe marriage to be between one man and one woman" and another saying "between any two adults" and look "United"? And those that support same-sex will not settle for that, they will keep coming until all do it their way. Isn't that what they are doing now? This has been voted down for over 50 years (or close to it) so either you agree with the church, or move on. What is next, everyone has to be a vegetarian because some are? If that portion of the church feels so strongly, then leave, start your own church, rewrite the Bible, and see how you do. But when all joined this church, we new the Bible and the book of discipline. The Bible didn't change only some members, those are the ones that should move on. It is the Boy Scouts having to take in girls now, makes no sense at all. The Bible is very clear and if the One Church Plan is adopted, Bible believers will not tithe or attend false teachings, so you will have a schism anyway, just a larger group leaving. All are welcome but you need to let God's word, not the world change each of us. I have spent countless hours praying about it and it is not about hate, as some claim it is. This is not a for it or against it thing. It is a we thing, either we follow Christ and what He wants for us or get out of the way but undermining the church, that you have accepted, is not being a Christian. How much time and money have we had to spend on what other churches said "One man, One Woman" and moved on and used all those resources to lead others to Christ. Al of our sins are equal, this is the only one we are asked to support.

    • @BigSam63

      @@defan2105 how would the one church plan cause a schism? It would allow each congregation go vote on these things as individual churches. So if your congregation voted a certain way that you disagreed with, you the individual would have the option of going to a different church where the congregation shares your views.

    • @defan2105
      @defan2105 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BigSam63 It is based on that alone. So, we have divisions between two churches only miles apart? One for the Bible, one for the what the world wants? How does that look United? We all must be under the same basic rules to be one church. Just pick one. If the One church plan wins, I won't try to undermine them, I won't go after them, I will either support or leave. I only ask the same of the others in the church no matter what plan is approved. It is that simple. Since the 70's we have been in schism. Bishops, pastors, churches, ignoring the covenant they took to uphold the UNITED Methodist Church's views. How can you be a member or a leader if you knowingly do that? It must stop, so that is why we are having this. We have rules of the road in driving do we not? So, you see no problem if somewhat to drive against traffic on a tollway? I mean each person is making an individual choice. What about NAMBLA? (Google it) They feel the same way, they want to love the way THEY want to and in 50 years, I'm sure the UMC will be torn about that too. Where does it end, at what point do we say, this is as far as the Bible goes. Like I said, we have been with our rules for a very long time, John Wesley would not understand how we are even having this talk. Uphold the Bible and the Book of Discipline or move on. The Bible isn't about our individual choices, it is following what God wants us to be. If you do not believe that then I must question a person's true desire to follow Jesus and accept Him as their Lord and savior. Nobody said it would be easy, but "And looking at them Jesus said to them, "With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." ~ Matthew 19:26 Follow God, not the world.
