    I got the XCF last week....my Kenda's have the white lettering....weird. I'ts my first fatbike and so far I absolutely love the bike and the sport hobby itself!

    I live in Washington dc I can't find this bike xcf any where not even on line at Costco do they sell this bike anymore?

    • @bikedad7432
      @bikedad7432  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they still sell the bike, but with the global bike shortage availability is spotty. I just saw on Facebook that the XC00 is available at Costco.com. Good luck with the hunt.

      XC00 is available right now online on costco. I live in Northern Va at it says the bike can arrive as early as 5/31

    I bought a XCF in December. It is my first fat bike, and I really like it. Where do you buy your mudguard?

    • @bikedad7432
      @bikedad7432  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, glad you're enjoying the bike. I bought my mud guards from Wish for $10 including delivery. I have another set coming. If you want fast delivery, Amazon sells similar mud guards for about $20.

    Thanks for the excellent comparison between the XC00 and XCF! Does the XC00 also have a freehub like the XCF or does it use a freewheel? I'm thinking if it has a freehub, then the cassette can be replaced to include a better range drivetrain set. Thanks again for your time!

    • @bikedad7432
      @bikedad7432  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're welcome. The XC00 is a freewheel. It's still a great budget fat bike, but the upgradability of the XCF is a game changer for these series of fat bikes.

      @@bikedad7432 Thanks for taking time to respond! It looks like the one to get is the XCF for just a little more money. Not only does it have more range but is highly upgradeable because of the freehub. I just wish the XCF was available in Costco stores in the states. I appreciate it!

    • @bikedad7432
      @bikedad7432  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. Although the XC00 is a wonderful bike I love riding the XCF much more. That 1x10 drive train is fantastic, especially on the hills.

    Thinking about used XC00 BUT concerned about climbing. Think i read cassette can't be changed?? BUT could a smaller sprocket be swapped for on the crank. Thx

    • @bikedad7432
      @bikedad7432  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're right. Climbing on the XC00 is a chore. Have you thought about an XCF with the 1x10 drive?

      @@bikedad7432 Appreciate the feedback. Considering a "new" XC00 bike locally for sale as a gift of friend who doesn't yet know she's about to get into biking but a lot on out-of-shape/fluffier side. Any idea what sprocket brand might be compatible? Even saw another bike whereby owner threw a 2x on the front. OR other way, could different cassette be placed on the rear with larger gear spread with current deraileur vs new 2x deraileur (new chain/crank too)??. Ugh--XCF sounding better already or I'm slapping a 4-stroke motor on the XC00) Cheers!

      @@43SLOWJOH I'm not sure in terms of upgrades, but on Facebook there is the Ontario Northrock XCF page. There are some on there who have upgraded the XC00 and list the parts. I'm sure if you ask to join you'll be allowed to. There are also folks who have upgraded the XCF as well.

      @@bikedad7432 So brief update, which would be cheapest/least involved option would be to replace Freewheel with either 7spd Shimano/Sunrace 34T-13/14. That highest Teeth you can go w/o changing rear Altus deraileur. 8spd would require new shifter assuming native shifter wouldn't work?? I think i read Crank is changeable but Sprocket is welded on so not. If riveted/welded wonder if new holes/threads could be created for smaller bolt-on sprocket but that would require serious precision.

    • @bikedad7432

      @@43SLOWJOH Sounds like a lot of work. I think you need to weigh the cost of the upgrade with the cost of your budget fat bike. I call them budget fat bikes. I love both of mine, but have not done any serious upgrades other than tires and pedals. What are you going to do?

    I’m having a hard time finding them in Edmonton! Where were you able to purchase it? I’m finding many Costco’s are sold out. Thanks for the review!

    • @bikedad7432

      With the global bike shortage and price point for the Northrock, they get snatched up quickly. I bought mine at the Winterburn Rd Costco across from the River Cree Casino. I just lucked into seeing the bikes when I was shopping. You could check out the Costco by the airport. That is a large store and maybe the demand for the bike isn't as great as in Edmknton itself. Good luck, I hope you find one.

      Probably not. The info with the bike says 5"7 to 6'2. I am 5"9 and the bike is perfect for me. If you are able to try one out first before buying it will give you a better feel for comfort.

    WHERE DO I BUY THE XCF????

    • @bikedad7432
      @bikedad7432  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Costco is the exclusive retailer. Unfortunately, with the global bike and parts shortage the XCF appears infrequently. The best way to get one is to check Costco website on a regular basis.

    • @bikedad7432
      @bikedad7432  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are distributed by Costco and also sold, at one time, on Amazon. When they appear they get scooped up pretty quickly. You could call ahead at your local Costco and see if they have any in stock. Good luck with the hunt.
