That was the fastest 20 minutes ever!! I’m like a kid, I WANT MORE!!! I’m so excited to see the interiors and this was a sweet first taste but I want the full gourmet meal! What I’ve seen is so exciting and Carla and her team are geniuses!! To finally see the translation of the MBBL into reality is so exciting!! I really like seeing both the technical presentation followed by the “pretty” view is so cool!! You get the nuts and bolts but then you get the eye candy! Can’t wait for future episodes! For me, at least, seeing the creation of the yacht and the floor plans was so fun, but now seeing it for real is so satisfying!! THIS IS SO COOL!! Congratulations, Victoria and Rico, on what you are creating-it has to be so personally gratifying to see all your hard work come together!! Woohoo!!!

White reflects heat and makes it look bigger and cleaner. Yes, it's going to be tough to keep clean, but with white, you can use any color to decorate the interior.

In the salon area day head I suggest the toilet tissue holder be moved to the forward facing wall to make it less of an obstruction.

I will never understand why people put the heads as far away from the rear of the boat as they can. I would have a fixed shower(open air) just outside the main deck door(s) and a head(s) right inside the door so you can rinse off step in and use the bathroom with out dripping water and muck everywhere. But it's not my boat.

With the 3D images and being able to walk through the rooms helps you see possible problems that a 2D image would not show. Things like headroom and ceiling heights are very important to see. Thanks for showing us all the work that goes into building the boat, its going to look amazing!

The open nature of the staircase in the salon is unique and wonderful; so hard to combine the two in such a small space for a staircase. I saw a very open staircase in one of your yacht tours that was much simpler but nevertheless made itself a main feature in the salon. This design doesn't do that at all. Very cool. After watching so many boat tours I can see that this staircase design was hard won.

Looks beautiful. Very comfortable. One caution -- if your main settee is a bit low, please include armrests. It can be difficult and awkward for older people to stand up from a low settee without an armrest for support. Ask me how I know this.

Looks very wide and stubby not at all. Like the bearing 70 that you saw in Italy, that was splended. Doesn't appear to give you that much room. In the middeck, it looks very shut off. It doesn't look like a Bering at Alataya a little disappointed I must say.😮

I'm short, so tall bar seating is such a pain. Put in a foot rail that is attached to the bar. This will give people a better way to balance...their feet don't have to be always under them, but can be in front, plus, it will make it easier to pull the stool forward. I prefer swivel bar stools because they are easier to get in and out of, but so many don't have the swivel that maybe I am in the minority with that opinion.
This is a luxury yacht... toilet brushes/ cleaning supplies....but especially items that have been dipped in the toilets...should be hidden. (under the sink...in a secret cubby with magnetic closure) just not visible. On the converse... women sometimes need trash cans when in a bathroom...that should be easily accessible, even if slightly out of sight from the doorway. (My husband began managing an office building, and I had to explain to him why each stall needed a trash can, and, of course, he was an adult! )
The toilet brush/ trash can is nitpicking, but seriously, do the foot rail.
The design is beautiful! I love the huge windows! It will feel so open and the view will be the main feature!!!

Victoria and Rico, what do you think of the idea to give each person on the charter their own stainless steel or aluminum drink container engraved with their name and the name of the ship? Sell it as an upgrade. It's better than using more plastic.

They already planned to do something of this nature, to minimize single use disposable plastics, though I'm not sure about reusable thermoplastics water bottles. They are much cheaper to produce and replace parts, than stainless. Though I have not run a cost benefit analysis yet, to understand which is much more effective. Both can't be made microwave safe for reheating liquids, both can be dishwasher safe. It's a whole can of worms most choose not to get into here.

Rico clearly adds a masculine viewpoint and geometric perspective which I appreciate. However, he is smart enough to recognize the style icon who is his partner. The design is modern, clean and attractive. Carla and team bring the knowledge and experience to transform general design directions into practical reality. You are building a good looking ship. I smile at the intelligence of the hidden door down below and the inherent safety of the escape hatches. I look forward to the ongoing reveal.

So - for the charters you want to do in the United States, I assume you are not bound by the Jones Act related to picking up passengers in one US port and dropping off in another US port? Assume you are planning to operate as a “six pack”? At that size - are you exempt from Jones Act restrictions?

    • @damham5689

We really need to update or end the Jones Act. I can't believe youre not allowed to do charters with a foreign made boat in the 21st century. Thats insane. But yet Carnival and other cruise lines do it all the time. Guess it all depends on how much money you have ?

Is it too late to try pocket doors in the twin and full, as well as baths, door swings are dead space.
Also the full, move the bed flush with the walls, that will get you more foot space, and change the cabinet to half hanging and desk,
Also do you have an idea as the time frame before you move up to a 80+,
I’m planing my retirement for a live a board world cruiser, 3-7 years from now, it’s between your 75 or a Johnson 87 (guy couach), the main deck master is my, my lean towards.

I thought I would take a look at Carla Guilhem's website and it appears to be pooched! Error 403 (forbidden error)! That's a shame especially as this youtube video has dropped highlighting her work, and you cant find out more about the company or the designer. The video is exciting though, but it does make me wonder about how interiors are beginning to look more like posh swanky hotels rather than boats. I wonder if some people do hark back to more traditional designs for their interiors, but using modern technology and materials?

put a Toto Washlet, wc/bidet, in the deck and guest bathroom, because it allows to resolve, in private, the emergencies of elderly and drunken guests. Having a bidet is the solution to a myriad of problems. Also consider vacuuming liquids inside the toilets, to clean up unpleasant debris. It would allow the guest himself, to leave clean after an impressive crisis.

You guys have pored over every detail of this project. You have agonised over every detail and put your heart and souls into it but there is one important detail you may not have considered... Charter guests! You will inevitably have guests who will not love this boat the way you do. They couldn't possibly understand what went into this boat or appreciate what it took to create it (in fact, if they did, they would probably not be able to relax and enjoy the charter) and then, there will be guests who have no appreciation whatsoever... carelessly spill drinks, scratch surfaces and generally abuse . Before I started working in yacht interiors, I had a business making commercial motel furniture. I would meet first-time owners who took so much pride in setting up their motels and believed that every guest would see the care they have taken and treat the property respectfully... only to have their hearts broken. It might be a good idea to plan a strategy for the occasions when guests are not everything you hoped for and discuss how you are going to cope to this issue ahead of time. Because you are so invested in this boat, there is also the risk that you could also become overbearing with guests which could also adversely affect your business... I think it's worth talking about, talking to other experienced operators, if for nothing else, to prepare yourselves psychologically for it.

Smart move on putting the TV in the ceiling vs having some sort of wood console/cabinet it rises out of. Makes it to where you can have the windows that much larger/lower to the floor, gives you great site lines when sitting down on the sofa. That's kind of a #1 pet peeve of mine is having your view obstructed when you sit down. Stayed in so many ocean front condos that have chair height seats on the balcony so when you sit down you have to look thru the railing(just put bar height chairs/table on the balcony!!!)

Going to ask what may seem a stupid question. Are all or most of the fabrics on the furniture water resistant? I was just thinking of wet bathing suits on all the chairs and couches. Yes, I realize that people with manners wouldn't plop down on someone else's furniture when wet but not everyone has manners. Kids who don't know better might do the same. Just curious.

  • @nickdamon2721

I think the day head wall and door should be walnut to brake up the white and give that corner more visual interest and make it feel less institutional, I also think the toilet and sink wall in the day head should also be walnut or a dark tile or marble as you are designing a yacht not an office building. I think some walnut accent in the inset portions around the lounge windows would help to break up the all the white to make it feel more yacht like and less like an office waiting room as the walnut accents on the ceiling are not very visible from most angels. The TV needs to be mounted closer to the windows over the cabinet as it is hanging right in the middle of the main lounge traffic lane.

People go on a cruise to escape from work so a charter yacht should look like a yacht, I would have gone with teak or another warmer wood tone to create more of that authentic yacht feel. You can still do a modern vibe but there needs to be the right wood tones and more of it. I suggested putting wood in the inserts around the lounge windows and on the day head wall and door, so you don’t feel like you are in a waiting room. The wall behind the sink and toilet needs washable wallpaper, marble or tile to make it fell more elegant and less like a public washroom. I think the designer they have is more of a commercial office designer than a yacht designer. The TV in the lounge is also hanging right in the middle of the main traffic lane when it should be hanging above the low cabinet in front of the windows to keep it out of the way. @@kroejsankamediteranka1784

A hardwood floor matching the rest of the woodwork would be on my menu. White carpet will be a regret on a charter boat. Can the toilet paper holder be moved to the side of the vanity as close to the wall as possible? Its a nice clean looking space mucked up by the ugly paper holder.

Too bright and plain like the office the designers are sitting in. Maybe the designers need to get outside.

It is wonderful to see your yacht come together. It's no wonder, that with all the tours that you two have done, that this 75' is coming together so beautifully. Not only have you toured and recorded, you have studied and learned (NBBL). And, with your experience if yacht ownership under your belts, I wouldn't be surprised if you aren't as intimidated by its size when it is delivered. Congrats, and thank you for inviting us to join you on this journey. It has been a pleasure watching your new yacht as it has evolved from dream to reality. Can't wait to see part two, but I will have to, won't I.

When your head is filled up with so many ideas because you have so much expierience on the subject -designing becomes a chore . Im a former design professional my self and it seems the more and more information as you try to perfect thye design is enormus -than constantly conveying ideas and communicating back and forth -just daunting. But pretty soon.........................................💙Kudos to the Bering design professionels !

Are you going to have regular types of toilets or will you go with something like the Toto Washlets? I always wondered if a washlet on a boat was practical or not. On the one hand you save on expensive toilet paper, but on the other, you've got to use fresh water and it has its own cost.

    • @kroejsankamediteranka1784
      @kroejsankamediteranka1784 ปีที่แล้ว

@Greatpix normally boat toilets cannot handle toilet paper. You have to put the used toilet paper in a bin, cannot flush it through the toilet. 😀 Most boats now have electric toilets, that basically function like a food macerator in your kitchen. You use fresh water for flushing although some people use sea water instead. Only problem is that sea water toilets tend to break down a lot, so better use normal sweet water. That goes into the black water tank and needs to be pumped out or, if the country allows it, you can pump it overboard when you are 5 nm off shore. You can also opt for the much more expensive vacuflush system, where a vacuum pump takes the business away, but those systems break down a lot, so not something you want to have on a boat.

I have been watching your videos on both NautiGuys as well as NautiStyles... I heard you say on one of your videos that you had an office in Miami. I'd like contact information as to your Miami or Ft Lauderdale office. Or IF you have your website so that I could contact you that way. Any contact information you can give me would be appreciated, as I am interested in a Bering Yacht and I'm in the beginning stages. Thanks for any information you can provide. JB
