Just got my first bug. 1970 Vibroplex Champion. Bugs are the reason I wanted to learn CW, and I have always admired your videos. Hoping I can make the jump. Not sure that I’m ready, but I am VERY excited to try. Also, it seems like my dits/dahs are opposite of you. Meaning my round pad is the dah and straight is the dit.

I suggest that you get comfortable with whatever key you are using before you move to a bug because you will lose a few WPM. But, practice will pay off and you will have lots of fun with a bug. But be sure to slow it way down when you start learning. I still keep mine pretty slow because I like to chat with new CW ops.
And yes, my bug is backwards because I use a left-handed bug with my right hand :-)

Thank you. I'm just learning how to use multiple cameras and mix them together in the video editor. Trying to improve!

Nice sending bugs! I have to send no copy with many bugs I try to copy. I've got the Vibroplex straight key, and I like it real well. Could you let me know what the logging spp you are using is? I can't find one that suits me and is driving me crazy. Thank you!

Hello Larry. I'm using SKCC Logger. I use it with all my SKCC QSOs. Makes it real easy. You can get it after joining the SKCC Logger Groups.io

So you use your right hand but run on left handed bugs? Interesting.

Hello Rich. Yes, I learned CW without an Elmer and when I hooked up the wires to my first paddle, I figured I had a 50/50 chance of getting it right. No luck! 73, Jim
