Look, I understand that Chernobylite can “stand on its own two feet” due its unique (but questionable) gameplay mechanics, but I just cannot take the claim that this will rival S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 seriously in any way. It’s not even close.
Yeah, I'm not sure it's gonna be a competior to stalker. At this point the only thing they're gonna share is a general location. I'm open to trying it, but it's not gonna quench my stalker thirst.
personally i dont think stalker will ever be "rivaled" by anything in a way, HOWEVER, more games who's settings are in a similar atmosphere to me are always welcome. yes please.
Into The Radius is one of the only Stalker like games I enjoy almost as much as Stalker. It’s not even the only VR game like it. VR is probably what makes it such a fascinating attempt. Also helps they actually listen to their community. Hoping ITR2 is a giant step forward from ITR because I honestly can’t get enough of the first one.
@@fortieznoshortiez It’s just getting better and better. UEVR is up and coming and since Stalker 2 is in UE, I’m hoping some of the awesome modders who work on Stalker seriously look into UEVR. Stalker in VR? I would be the happiest man alive
Forget about STALKER 2 for a sec, Chernobylite 2 is one of the most baffling sequels I've ever seen. It's like the devs never played the first one or know why it was loved. I was truly speechless when I saw the reveal trailer.
@TRIIGGAVELLI I do agree there does seem to be a big gap between what the 2 games are. It's like a massive tonal shift. Apparently Chernobylite 2 isn't continuing the story of the first one and is more of a separate in universe spin off. This by itself I don't mind. Like I said at the beginning of the video the first one felt one and done. I do think the devs need to be clearer that this game is a spin off not a direct continuation if that makes sense. The giant monsters look really cool and the game itself seems interesting but yeah I can see why alot of people aren't into it. The biggest problem I think is the lack of communication with the community as I pointed out. The devs need to get...and take feedback effectively. Thanks for watching.
@@BrokenCircle1 Not to spoil anything, in Chernobylite 2 there will be more interactions with the world which was changed due to the disaster and what happened in the first game. It will cover not only how the world was changed, but also WHO did it change. Action will happen after Chernobylite 1 and there will be connections to it. :) But I think I already said a bit too much, just wait for more videos :)
short answer no, long answer nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
It might rival Stalker but only on a surface level. Honestly, Stalker and Chernobylite are completely different games. I'm sorry but what makes Stalker unique is not really the fact it set in the vicinity of Chernobyl, or the fact there are factions, or even the fact there are anomalies, radiation and other weird stuff going down. Personally, if you want to get into Chernobylite, you will enjoy it much more if you never try to associate it with Stalker. Coming in expecting something Stalker-like will leave you completely disappointed. Not because Chernobylite is bad but because it is fundamentally different from Stalker in terms of its design, mechanics and feel. The only game which was ever similar to Stalker in my opinion is Gothic 1. That is the only game during which I've experienced similar feelings as in Shadow of Chernobyl all those years ago. Nothing else compares and it's a bit of a shame really. I really wish there were more games which had this sombre loneliness set in an unique world which is fundamentally gritty and hostile to the player. Where you feel like just another casual person, facing something beyond understanding.
I like the Chernobylite dev's making solid design choices to set it apart from S.T.A.L.K.E.R but frankly when it comes out the majority of it's fanbase will play it, have fun and then go straight back to SOC, CS and COP with whatever mods they prefer.
I mean yeah I kinda did the same thing with the first game but the second one looks like its actually gonna be more replayable. I could be wrong of course we know very little about it but I think it could be bigger than the first game.

Lol, exactly the "massive Michael Bay Transformers" with all that green bling bling stuff kills it for me. You might love it. But this is so far away from the essence of Stalker that I can't compare them as rivals. This is like comparing Kingdome Come with Elder Scrolls. And the decision to make Chernobylite 2 a Third Person game shows that even the developers deliberately don't try to compete with Stalker (and its a smart decision, no hate, just don't compare them)

I tried the first one. The only game in the same vein as Stalker I play as much as Stalker is Into The Radius. That’s really only because it takes the Stalker like gameplay and puts you more in direct control in VR. Stalker 2 in Unreal Engine though. So there’s a chance that it will run in UEVR and if they can make it happen and it’s good? ITR might actually start collecting dust in my library. Because it will actually be Stalker in VR. With modders like Grok, if they actually like Stalker 2 enough to bother, hopefully they’ll take a look at UEVR
