- I know many of you are not even on summer break yet, but it was a gloomy day here today so I started unpacking into my new classroom!
This will be my 7th classroom in 11 years of teaching. I did choose to move to this classroom, so I shouldn't have to move for hopefully a long time! I'm so excited for the taller ceilings and all the storage I know have!
Make sure you subscribe so you can watch the rest of the setup when the time comes! #classroomsetup #teacherlife #elementaryteacher
What an AWSOME classroom size for your 2024-2025 school year!,,,,,
The camera makes it look bigger I swear haha
I like setting up my room during the summer since not very many people are around to distract me. Also, I love the calm tones in your room!
It’s nice to work and not get side tracked by people for sure 😂
Are you make a classroom video k
Wow, jealous of that classroom! The level of built in storage is off the charts!!! I have absolutely zero built in storage. Just a bunch of bookshelves 🤦🏼♂️
I went years with none, too! Feels good to finally have an abundance!
@@_ThirdGradeSwag will be very nice!!! 😊 enjoy it!
Been watching your classroom set ups the last few years and I find them so comforting! Love to see male elementary teacher representation as well!
Ayyy thank you!
Love all the storage! Thanks for sharing your classroom set up!
Such a nice room! Such big windows, and looks so sleek and open!
Great to see a teacher that has been teaching several years and takes command over the sorting of materials; that helps one definitely survive the school year with keeping things easy with morning meetings or subs!!!
I’m trying! I’m not always the most organized person haha
Love your organization. Great start
Finally my organization is horrible so I’m trying to be better haha.
You start preparing so early, wow... In my school (or in my country) we are about to end 23-24 school year, last Friday was our last state exam.
So we are waiting for results, than it's graduation time for 9th and 11th graders
Most of teachers get ready in august, because our school year always starts on September 1st
I normally would not be preparing this early. However, moving rooms, I wanted to get some stuff settled. A rainy day seemed like a good time to do so!
Love love your videos ❤
thank you! trying to be better at uploading consistently!
Nothing wrong with being a bit of a hoarder, most teachers are! I taught Algebra and Geometry for 35+ years and nothing made me happier than the start of the school year, organizing pens, pencils, etc. Labeling piles of graph paper, boxes of rulers and compasses, caddies of calculators. I still miss it terribly and love these videos. Hope you have a wonderful year!
Thank you!! I hope you’re enjoying retired life!
Looks great!
Thank you l!!!
Wow fletcher all I can say!! The cabinets are so nice and the taller ceilings are awesome for your tall body!
It’s going to be a good move I think!
Such an awesome room!
I’m so excited for it!!
love how organized everything is! so satisfying
For right now at least 😅 I’m going to keep it this organized but I have a bad habit of letting my type b tendencies get the best of me
lol type b tendencies.. I felt this comment..
Wow!! Love all that storage ..
made me want to go set up my classroom 😂
The storage is amazing! I’ve never had anywhere close to this much!
For those headphones, get a dowel from Home Depot and mount it somehow under those cabinets and hang them on it.
Ohhhhh now that’s a good idea!
Ohhhhh now that’s a good idea!
For the headphones you can either use a shoe organizer, an adhesive plastic hat hanger or a paper towel holder adhesive
I have seen the shoe organizer! I’ll have to decide when I get everything fully setup!
@@_ThirdGradeSwag the shoe organizers worked in one of my classrooms, but when I moved, I had to use the paper towel holders got the peel and stick ones and hung them on the side of my cabinets
We had good success with pencil pouches for headphones. No tangles and easy grab-and -go for students.
you have a huge room
I promise it just looks that way on camera haha
I would label all your cabinets too.
Yep I will eventually for sure!
Your room is huge. I wished I had that size room when I was teaching.
It’s not I promise haha. My family thought the same thing then saw it in person and were shocked by how much bigger it looks in videos.
What an inviting classroom that will be! Where do students store their winter coats and boots? In the hallways? Our schools have these (impractical) 8” cubbies inside the classrooms for 25-30 students and it takes up sooo much storage space.
Yes! We have hooks in the hallway where they keep their backpack, jacket, and any winter gear during those months! It used to be in our classrooms and took up so much space and the smell..... so glad they keep it in the hallway now!
I'm so jealous of your cabinets. My new room has mobile cabinets.
I’ve never had so many I’m so excited!
You get such a long summer break! We got out the same day as you, but school starts August 1st! Do you get a lot of time off during the year? How many days is your school year?
We don’t have many breaks! Our school year is typically 168 ish student contact days and like 178 teacher days
He gets such a long break. I get out the same time as him and go back August 10th
@@_ThirdGradeSwag Our required minimum is 195 days per school year. I feel like we could do better with 176. June is a write off for the kids anyway. Do you have a lot of summer learning loss?
@@_ThirdGradeSwagWow! Kids have 178 days, teachers 190. We get 1 week at thanksgiving; about 2 weeks at Christmas and 1 week spring break. A few extra days scattered through year. Your calendar is amazing
That is a really nice classroom! ❤ My school is being renovated so we can’t set up til late summer! 😢
that's awesome it's being renovated though!
I'm glad to see a male teacher making videos instead of all females mostly. Great job!
I appreciate that!
Greetings. Enjoy your videos. I would like you to make one showing the manipulatives you use in mathematics.
I can do that!
@@_ThirdGradeSwag Thank you so much. In August I will be in charge of the third grade.
Yea, I'm a bit jelly.😮
Dang! You're moving in already?!
Trying to 😂 I wanted to take advantage of a rainy day. Now I won’t be back in for a bit!
You are already setting up?! We are still in school for two more weeks here in Ontario Canada.
Normally, no! But I wanted to get some stuff put away. I won’t go back in for an awhile now.
As soon as you get rid of your rainbow carts, your going to need them.
True 😅 I’ll make sure I hold onto them!
Curious when do y’all start this upcoming year
not until after Labor Day! So I'm in no rush to get it setup... but seemed like a good time to go in on a gloomy day!
@@_ThirdGradeSwag ohhh ok thanks! My district starts on 8•29 (k,1,6,9 only) then everyone on the 30th then off for that weekend & start again 🤣
@@_ThirdGradeSwagyou have a long summer. I get out at the same times as you (May 24) and go back August 10th
Do you have to keep coming in to feed the fish?
I have an automatic feeder so have been stopping by about once a week!
Head phone idea - we use a small clothes rack
Would it fit inside one of the cabinets or outside?
@@_ThirdGradeSwag outside
Saa 😊
Didn't school just end and you're already setting up?
We’ve been out a month! This was an early day one but I wanted to get stuff on cabinets so the custodians didn’t have to haul it all out into the hall when they clean the carpets!
I am sorry, but I prefer to setup my classroom after the Summer Break. After the school year officially ends, my mental rolodex is on involuntary hibernation. 😂
Hahahah I get it! This is very early… I won’t be having day 2 for a while 😂
I would love to watch your videos but I just can’t! 😢. I seriously get nauseous every time I try to watch. There is way too much movement when you’re filming that I feel sick and have to turn it off.
I wish I wasn’t so sensitive but oh well.🤷🏻♀️
Have a great year!
@@cynthiapanah3978 from the Timelapses?? I always debate whether to Timelapse or show small clips in normal time 😅
