The Heart of Centering Prayer: Christian Nonduality in Theory and Practice
In this day of reflection, Rev. Bourgeault opens new ground with The Cloud of Unknowing by proposing that its anonymous author, in using the word "contemplation," is actually describing the transition to unitive or non-dual consciousness. This includes a brief exploration of what this actively entails, how this new perspective helps to clear up some of those notoriously difficult passages in The Cloud, and why centering prayer is so essential in the process.
Cosponsored by Contemplative Outreach of Boston and the School of Theology and Ministry
Rev. Cynthia Bourgeault is an Episcopal priest, teacher, author, and retreat and conference leader.
In this section Rev. Bourgeault looks more closely at the connections between centering prayer and the practices prescribed in The Cloud of Unknowing. She focuses on the central effort: working to move beyond thought to have diffused awareness. She also introduces how this can be practiced in daily life.

I wish this kind of practice could be done with people with ADHD. It reminds me of biofeedback program i tried a few times. It actually was a computer program that you put a little sensors on your skin around your forehead and as long as you’re breathing regularly and deeply and you keep from following little thoughts that come, you can keep this little balloon flying faster and higher but the minute you open your mouth or the minute you let your mind grab onto something, the balloon slows down on the screen and goes lower. This is the visualization of the archer pulling your attention away to a point at a distance.

Stop interfering with God's action by making him object . Let go . Let God.
