The explanation of precession at around 3:20 is enough to make the learned forget what they knew. Now i remember why school sucked. How to make something that's simple sound like a foreign language.
I call videos like this "ego free." So many instructional videos nowadays seem to be as much about the presenter as they are about the subject matter or else they're unscripted, overly lengthy and digressive.
Always been unclassified :-) They showed this in Navy Flight school in the early 80's unclassified; and it was old then - but still completely accurate, a great video then, and still now ....
This is amazing! It seems that educational videos these days just water down topics to the point that you don't really get any information. This training film covers in 20mins what it would take 200hours to explain with the current method of making such videos. Sad...

19:14 Apparent drift as it approaches to poles- it is automatically adjusted based on latitude that was entered manually and must be manually corrected when latitude changes. That seems like on major contradiction to me.
What is automatic is the real time compensation of the drift, that is to say that the precession rate of the gyro equals the drift due to the latitude (meridian convergence). However you need to adjust the latitude and select the right hemisphere to have the correct compensation.
and children thats how it was done and today its completly different. people still used star nav with this and regular magnetic compasses. the limitations set back submarine navigation and got a lot of planes lost at sea.

If the gyro tilts (or drifts) so that its axle is not plumb, the pendulous vanes shift so that one exhaust port is more-than-half-covered and the opposite exhaust port is less-than-half-covered. The resulting imbalance of discharge air exerts a force on the rotor housing at right angles to the direction of tilt, causing the gyro to precess to the erect position. As soon as the gyro is erect, the pendulous vanes return to a balanced condition to remove the precessing force. So if I understand you correctly, the gyro chamber is kept at a positive air pressure to allow the exhaust drift correction system to work, and the force of a turn or unlevel (in relation to gyro orientation) attitude is enough to overcome the force of the exhaust drift correction system, thus it would not need to differentiate between a movement of the plane and the apparent drift of the rotation of the earth. (?) Assuming that is all correct would this system only work in level straight flight? The reason I am asking all of this is because I want to try an experiment for a physics class to see if I can determine my latitude from measuring the apparent drift of the gyroscope over a 6 hour period. In order to do my experiment I need to find a gyroscope that does not have a correction system, or find a way to disable it. Any recommendations on what to look for gyro wise? Gravity moves the vanes. The axis of the gyro is vertical and therefore perpendicular to the horizon. An attitude indicator uses the principle of rigidity in space. The gyro maintains its orientation as the aircraft essentially maneuvers around it. If the axis drifts from the vertical gravity acts on the pendulous vanes to precess the axis back to vertical. I'm afraid I don't have any recommendation for a gyro to use in your experiment other than to check with an aircraft instrument repair station at an airport in your area. ok. now i go buy gyroscope and let it work 6 hours in each axis to see if it make movement. If not move we can say that Earth is not moving.... BUT there is one problem. You can not buy gyroscope anywhere... I tried to do this few moths but i not find it to buy.
If the gyroscopic force is the only thing needed as a measure of balancing force if a counter wieght is applied to the bottom of the gyroscope it shall keep it in a centered way according to gravity. I feel gyrosopic flying machines could be created in a manner similar to the helicopter yet, with an inside force when affected on the outside by wind allowing for control of pitch essentially gliders could be utilized as flying machines. With several gyroscopes set accordingly I believe a hover effect could very truly become produced and in affecting pitch in a gyroscope left without a wieght to keep it in accordance with gravity it essentially would have the abitity to yew and roll all very fast. Antigravity technology would further allow gyroscopes to make massive gains in perpetual motion and give the craft an ability to infinitely hover or fly without need for landing or any type of refueling until and repairs are needed. Solor power for controls would also be very benificial. Space travel and air travel would essentiallybe moved into a new age of travel and off world habitation. I predict the moon could be colonized in months duer to the ability for the craft to further at much great speeds then a spaceship. Godspeed!

tested 4 directional gyros for days in different positions N/W/S/E, 2 x 28 volts ARC and RCA, one 115v 400hz BF Goodrich, and 1 Cessna vacuum gyro. NO drift on a bench, work perfectly in the car while driving. should test it before making stupid claims.
The gyro in and of itself is mechanical. The electrical is an add-on system that provides a means to improve the stability and accuracy of the mechanical part.
At 2:17 it explains that the gyroscope remains pointed in the same direction in space as the plane goes around the Earth it still remains pointed the same way. For Flat Earth conspiracy theorists this is proof that the Earth is round, not flat. If you don't believe this video, then you need to go up in an airplane and prove it's flat. A pilot without electronics views the earth's horizon and ground objects to generally stay level, and perhaps he can sense the air thinness/thickness for a sense of altitude. A pilot would find it impossible to sense one degree of earth curvature every 67 miles (over several minutes of time). Whether the earth was curved or flat, without instruments the pilot would think and fly the same way.

But then when I buy my own gyroscope & gimbals kit. It's not affected by apparent drift. The Earth is not rotating people. It's obviously a flat motionless Earth. They call it an air PLANE not an air SPHERE because it moves in a straight line above a flat, non rotating Earth. Don't believe me? Go buy your own gyroscope then set it up for 15 minutes

So as they move around on the ball-earth, the gyro would have to APPEAR to be changing that "fixed ridge to space ATTITUDE" from verticle toward horizontal as you travel around the ball - this does not happen. This does not happen because the Earth is flat.
