    Dare I say, you could fill Thordendal’s shoes and then some! Drop by his studio, he’s doing a solo thing. ;)

    Should have been on the original;) we need more of that Holdsworth sound during meshuggah like parts! Love it... you should shred a lead over that too, I used to do that but my ultimate fav to solo over is the end of Straws Pulled at Random. Cheers🤘🏻

    Would you ever do a rundown of your custom guitar/rig Robert? I know myself and some others would be incredibly interested to see how much depth you went into with creating it for the sounds you need.

    • @robertritchiesse

      Hi, Tarkenton
      The short version: Yes, I will ... eventually. (I think it’s great idea, and I’ve been asked about this several times by my followers and fans. I’m flattered by the interest - really.)
      A little longer version: Yes, I will. But right now, and for quite some time ahead, I’m fully occupied by my work on several things:
      i) Until January next year, I’m working on two solo albums: re-mix; re-mastring; and some new stuff on an old project album from 2004 namned Fragmentism Project (never released before).
      ii) Defragmentism Project: a new solo album, a quartet-based line up together with Steve Hunt (keyboard, piano and prepared piano), Morgan Ågren (drums), my twin-brother Kai (bass and saxophones) and Mattias IA Eklund (guitar) on one track. Both these albums does have symphonic orchestra an choir arr. as well. A lot of material to handle.
      iii) Earlier this year - in the summer, while the worst CV19 breakout - I wrote solo concert for my grand guitar. My plan now is to end up this grand guitar-special composed concert in not one but two more(!) albums, after the release of the Fragm. & Defragm.; a only-my-grand-guitar-version album and a full symphony orchestra & choir-added to "back up my grand guitar" version. (In either case, this recently written concert is namned Gautigoths.) Now ... since the grand guitar part is very hard to play, I’m already working/practicing/preparing really hard - parallell work with the Fragm./Defragm-albums - for recording this concert (at least the solo version) next year, appr. a year from now. The orchestra version, well, in the beginning of 2022.
      To boil it all down: with this flow to produce music - and flow is a rare luxury to get and keep - I prioritize this more than anything else right now.
      So, yes, there will be a video of my grand guitar and my guitar rig Nostromo. the stories behind the grand guitar, the rig Nostromo: when; how etc ... But I wanna do it right; not just a sloppy "rough and raw" home video, like I use to do. Nowadays, I’m a little bit tired of that lacking in sound quality, to be honest. So, when I’ll make such a video, I wanna do it in video & audio studio quality, both in playing, my narrative, when I’m demonstrates the sounds etc ... perhaps with nice video "diary" editing from studio sessions with Morgan etc. But this is like making a film ’for real’: script, cutting board - the whole thing.
      I hope you (and others) can wait for this video to 2022. It will take some time, but I will do it "top of the art".
      ....Meanwhile/for the time being, I can promise you - I dare to say - a special solo album in January - the Defragmentism Project with Steve, Morgan, Kai and Mattias. And this will be the first album with Nostromo. I garan-damn-tee that the sounds from it will be .... quite extraordinary to anyone to listen to.
      Cheers =)

      @@robertritchiesse That rundown is nearly as good as the video itself. Beyond excited for you and the road ahead. Let’s all stay healthy until then, and if you can, throw-up the occasional RR-modified Meshuggah track.
      Cheers from Mordor, Texas. 😉

    I was just watching Alien and realized your rig and the ship share the same name, Nostromo. Are you a Giger fan too?

    • @robertritchiesse
      @robertritchiesse  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Haha … Yes, I am. I namned my guitar rig Nostromo, because I see (or imagine) resemblance between my rig and the ship. And it IS a cool name as well. That name stuck when I saw Alien 1 for the 1000ths time, at that time I builded my Nostromo.
      I have visited the Giger-musem in Schweiz. I strongly recommend a visit, if you not have been there.
