I always think, that although they might not be the highest standard of fit n finish, they are insane value for money… and if you have the skills to rectify the issues then all the better
if you need an ideas about reglueing the plastic tabs, i use plastex, its a clear liquid and powder, you can actully get different colour powders as well, its been out for years. the liquid isnt super glue and its all i use, after many years searching, you can even reform and make tabs with it as well. stay away from superglue type repair stuff.
Mick loved what you did on that tank stunning finish 👍👍as for the chineese failings once bitten twice shy you can make them work but as for the finish well ?? Who works there nuts off for a bag of rice and 2 pancake rolls a week
What can I say Mick! your clearcoating work is stunning if I didn't know better I would say that Tony airbrushed your tattoo on his hand so it looked like you did it 😂 When you buy these after market panels you have to take a risk as to what you get, some are good and some are bad and it looks like you were unlucky but it's a good job you have the skills to fix them so they are still a reasonable but cheap option. Sorry I didn't really get on the live chat mate, this time of day I'm just about done in so have to take my meds as I'm in a lot of pain, broke my back in two places when I was 18 so now I'm paying for it 😢🤷♂️
Thanks John, it was a risk but as long as they fit OK now they will be golden! No worries about the chat, I didn't finish recording until 9pm last night! Give your back some rest dude!
Yeah will do Mick but it's a daily routine these days 🙄 just wanted to ask why the vid was in a low res today, I couldn't select anything higher than 360p, I thought you was using an old VHS camcorder 😲🥴😂
Got my CBR1100 fairings from "Monster Fairings" and it wasn't too bad, but still not great, but they sent me replacement bits, and I sold the slightly damaged bits anyway (check my channel for the review 😁)
Now is the time to buy a scrap/salvage one... motorcycles are shooting up in value due to the prices rising of new bikes and electric vehicles. If you want to do one then do it, I had never entertained a blackbird before, always been on sports and super bikes but this machine is something else to ride.... you won't regret it!
@@UniqueCoatings cool 😎 ..I've just bought a BB. But it's in pretty good condition, but seeing that Repsol scheme is looking very good. The tank in particular is looking 👌. Was also interested to see how those fairings were. After the new topcoat looking more like factory - wondering how good the fixing holes line up. One unrelated question - what are you going to do with the rear subframe? Mine in an 04 but already showing some corrosion. Interested to see how to treat the inside of the box section to stop rust coming through, and then what to do to outside surfaces. I've just bought 'JENOLITE Directorust' satin black - what are your thoughts on using this on the outside/inside surfaces?
Subframe.... get it powdercoated and get the coater to shoot down the inside when blasting and coating. Not worth pissing around with any other products. The tank was labour intensive just be warned but we'll worth it opposed to the shite plastic covers you can buy. Will keep you updated on the fitment very soon!
Got them polished today and they look the part now Stephen, and yes the are cheaper than fiber glass and less maintenance than fiber glass too. I suppose it's just luck of the draw what the quality is like.
Good quality if it were for a dirt bike. Thanks for sharing.

Hi buddy really enjoyed yr honda blackbird restoration project is there a video on the finished bike.....very best regards mark
There will be bud yes... its in the corner of the garage at the moment due to having serious health issues.
Great work! Looking forward to the next instalment of your restoration
Thank you. It's coming soon!
Nice finish it was all worth it in the end 👌👌
Hopefully they fit OK!
I did the same kind of thing on my channel, using Chinese fairings on my CBR1100, if you get time take a look at the series of videos 😁
Amazing work brother ... keep it up
Cheers!
It would be helpful to know which company you purchased the fairings from mate.
Generic Chinese wholesaler on Ebay.
Awesomeness mick buddy... Thanks for the heads up brother... Super informative video mate and excellent work ... Say hey to Tony from me man 💖👑
Thanks buddy

Noted for future reference, luckily I have a spare panel I can make the tab up with!

Pretty much expected Dean yes... however I will work for food!

Still waiting for the HD and 4K to process John, its takes a day or two bud.
In that last shot.. is the honda logo on the tank the wrong way round
It isn't. It is the same way around as the original.

Exact project i wanted to do

@@UniqueCoatings already got the blackbird, i was just looking at the respol from monster fairings, now not so much
Been a while.. no update;)
Coming soon. Big update too!
Just couldn’t have the fireblade on it
I know right.... its winding me up rotten
I would like to see a blackbird in the Volkswagen colour turmeric yellow that looks more like gold with black wheels and screen
I have an aprilia in a similar colour scheme (candy gold/yellow with black wheels and screen) and it does look pretty good!
You can't complain 😂😂😂
Clearly I did 😅
What happened next?
Soon to come. Just finishing everything under the fairings.

stilll look loads better than fiberglass race fairings that seem to be similar price and fit like shite
