I feel sorry for these USSR (СССР) players. Their nation was falling apart right before their eyes, many of their star players were decided to stay back home, and even their own anthem (which I still think today is a pretty good song) was butchered, maybe intentionally. Everything was coming crashing down, and a few short months later the Soviet Union these players represented would be completely dissolved. I truly feel bad for those players
+Dr. Jan Itor the egyptians didnt do it on purpuse they actually suck at singing foreign coutries anthems cuz they did the same thing to France and Jordan....
As an American I feel incensed at the way they Americans there conducted themselves. They were so rude and disrespectful to the Soviet team and openly hostile. This was the Glasnost/Perestroika Soviet Union that was democratizing and warming to the west and the audience still treated them like enemies. They even asked the lyrics not be used probably b/c of the message and they had to stand there listening to their poorly played anthem while their nation was literally collapsing back home. I’m so sorry to Team Soviet Union.
I had thought that the lyrics weren't played perhaps because the USSR was collapsing. This was after the August 1991 coup attempt, but prior to the final collapse of the USSR; I'm assuming that the lyrics' message wouldn't even resonate with the Soviet players by this point. The video isn't good quality, but the playing of USSR anthem during the 1990-1991 New Year broadcast didn't use the lyrics either: th-cam.com/video/BlMt6GfGhnQ/w-d-xo.html They did use the lyrics during the 1989-1990 New Year broadcast: th-cam.com/video/FOqwPdYoV-c/w-d-xo.html
You can see the embarresmet on the Russian players. Its incredibly rude and arrogant to do that to another country. It does not matter if they are a enemy like the Soviet Union was. You can bash another country's government if you really are about that stuff. But bashing another country's culture and people is going to far.
They are not only Russians, they are Ukrainians as well, but it seems that they are all do embarresment, they knew that their country was collapsing and they saw how glad the Americans were about thia fact
catsarecats The Cold War wasn’t between governments and militaries. Two peoples who lived in different Societies couldn’t coexist. Communism is a threat to democracy like democracy is a threat to communism. The USSR anthem isn’t truly culture of the Russian people but the culture of a communist dictatorship that failed horrendously to bring what the people hoped for when they fought in their civil war. This was a symbol of victory over the USSR, the nation that was the enemy of the US. Neither countries could coexist, and it’s obvious who lost the war. I will admit that it is a disrespectful bashing of the Soviet people who were only stuck with their nation like most Germans were come 1945, they might not of supported their government but they loved their nation.
SuperAncientmariner Every other national anthem, the rest of the national anthems are all grand and royal and American and Russia are just kinda like, "Well it's music.."
not always, check your facts also, most if not all countries with the Socialist system failed with the will of their leaders, just look at Gorbachov and Yeltsin how they became america's best friends after the USSR collapsed, some common sense would show you how things were and why they happend. Meanwhile, only 30% of capitalist countries in the world are actually successfull and prosperious, while the rest are total shitholes, I'd say that capitalism failed there, and that sounds dumb. A country doesn't have to be a failed country because of it's system, mainly it's the people leading it. Even my country, Yugoslavia didn't fail because of the Socialist system, it mainly failed of the decaying of bad leadership who accepted money from the west (fact) to break down the country. Most fuss when our war started was on nationalism, nobody really even spoke or discussed about the two systems, and yet afterwards capitalism sneaked in quietly. Also it's not a coincidence that all Socialist countries sunk just right at 1990-1991, and I really mean ALL countries sunk in those few years.
Someone commented this if you scroll down for like 10000 years, Im reposting it so people can see it again: "In America They played the USSR anthem like complete shit. And played their own like as if it’s unparalleled But in the Soviet Union When American officials came The red army choir I swear Played the American anthem better than the Americans themselves. They sang it as if it was their own." This is a reply: "Yep. That's an insult to the USSR. That's why I like Russia MUCH better than USA."
No shit Sherlock of course both hated each other so beef between both is expected. Both aren’t good countries frankly. If you think Russia is perfect than U.S that’s on you. Although you’re using TH-cam created by Americans which makes you hypocrite. There’s a lot of good things about Russia and one of it are patriotism. While in U.S just 70% Americans very patriotic while the 30% are liberals ruining U.S. You might see U.S as the enemy. But you can’t deny the fact that without U.S there would be no internet lights and airplanes. The U.S accomplish so many great things that’s why it seen as superior than others. But then again U.S is not an innocent country.
Orange Man Bad USA stole the half of the inventions or the inventors were Germans who either flew to USA during the ww2 or German plans were stolen after Germany lost like for the stealth aircraft. see Horten H IX.

I love America and all, and I'm no communist, but the USSR/CCCP/Russia has a much better anthem than the U.S, at least instrumentally. I think the US's stands for better ideals, and has better lyrics, but it takes the cake instrumentally.
So an oligarchy has better ideals than a country which actually was based on the friendship and the union of people and workers. And a worker btw is everyone who sells their work to those who own the means of production.
@@JacktheRah based & how it was actually run is quite different. There was no union between the leadership of the USSR & the population they ruled over. Especially not early in their existence.
Sorry, USA... butcher it as you might, the Russian anthem is an incomparably better musical composition than your own. Might even be the world's best! I'm afraid there's no comparison.
You've gotta be kidding. The Soviet theme is nowhere close to being the best, neither is the U.S.'s. No country has the greatest cause you hear it all the time.
What explains your profile picture? Listen, I like the song too, but don't overglorify the Soviets. You must've lived under a rock in 1991, cause they're long gone.
Very sad😞 They don't realize that it was the last time they would see the red banner fly......the last time they would sing their mother anthem......last time to pride being a Soviet hero
The Chicago Stadium Barton Theatre Organ was one of the few real pipe organs ever installed in a sports arena, and unfortunately it's last major tune up was in 1985!! hence it sounding a little off here. It also didn't help that they used too many of the bad sounding pipe ranks for this playing. Here's some recordings of how good this organ was back in 1985 for a concert. soundcloud.com/wurlitzer11/sets/tom-hazelton-live-at-chicago

@@halimmoesa worse than boring, all their shit was made in the 1800s and they can't do anything new for the life of them. They attribute myths to the making of these songs and their flag to feel better, while there is little to no evidence of any of the myths holding water.

I heard the USSR's national anthem being played on this video today (01/10/2020). I found it to be the most moving rendition of the USSR's anthem. It may not sound as brilliant as a brass band but it certainly impressed me. Thank you.
Damn bro the soviet anthem was played like trash I swear my ears were screaming for it to stop, I mean it sounds as if it was being played by kindergarteners and I ain't gonna lie The CCCP players honestly looked depressed
what's with all the clapping and screaming while their own national anthem is sung? I was expecting to hear the whole crowd singing it together, but they're just yelling and clapping, pretty stupid.
The Americans were quite rude when the Soviet anthem played Edit: sorry I wrote this back when I was a communist, I have since changed and now realize the Soviet Union sucked
Yeah, that's Americans for you... Not only did they disrespect the CCCP team by altering their anthem and skipping parts of it, they even disrespected their own anthem by shouting and cheering. No matter which country's anthem is played, you should stand in attention!
I've never seen such disrespect for a country that was falling apart back at home. They completely ruined the soviets anthem and made the American anthem sound real powerful, in fact everyone kept cheering for the USA throughout it being sang. I could even see the disappointment in each of the Soviet Player's faces when they heard their anthem all jacked up like they were nothing, the Americans rushed through that as if it was nothing. I'm American myself and will stay American, but this makes me despise my own Countries Choices and Decisions. I don't ever want to see something as light hearted and disrespectful as this towards another country ever again. Especially if the country is at near death back at their homeland.

The video isn't good quality, but the playing of USSR anthem during the 1990-1991 New Year broadcast didn't use the lyrics either: th-cam.com/video/BlMt6GfGhnQ/w-d-xo.html

catsarecats The Cold War wasn’t between governments and militaries. I will admit that it is a disrespectful bashing of the Soviet people who were only stuck with their nation like most Germans were come 1945, they might not of supported their government but they loved their nation.

not always, check your facts
also, most if not all countries with the Socialist system failed with the will of their leaders, just look at Gorbachov and Yeltsin how they became america's best friends after the USSR collapsed, some common sense would show you how things were and why they happend.
