I commented earlier but it didn’t post it oh well. But this video definitely is going to help me with my swap and adding ac to my car! Lots of good info here
looked at many, many mvac systems. never seen charge ports on the compressor like that. not saying it's wrong its just that no o.e. design system that I've seen is laid out that way
Mike, Good job. I’ve always wondered if the whole system could be converted to a Vintage Air Gen IV system, the evaporator/heater box under the dash, like I installed in my 66 Fairlane. Never seen one so I guess not. Glad you marked the orientation of the hose in the fitting or you would play hell to assemble it. Charlie
Never heard of it but checked it out…looks to me like all truck stuff but their universal kit is the same as coldhose imo. Basic fittings and a drier, like most ask universal kits i saw. But if i missed something let me know! I’d be curious to see if ask this could have been easier, again yet to find a universal kit that worked with a foxbody orifice tube system and came with a universal accumulator.
@HOUSEOFDULA I have the wrong company, it is fathead garage. Their kits are amazing. The kit is for a coyote swap but you can pick what compressor you are using and I don't know much about the Ecoboost but I'm willing to bet they are the same or easily swapped to a different compressor.
Nice work. Way to stick with it and figure it out. All part of doing something totally custom. Can't wait to see it all wrapped up. I think it's gonna be an awesome piece of work.
Thank you. And, yessir its part of it. Its what I was wanting, so this built has not disappointed. I really enjoy the research and details in things like this.
I honestly am not familiar with the Sn95, but as close as they are to a fox, and still a fox platform, Id be willing to bet it would be very similar if not exactly the same.
That will be covered in an upcoming video. You need to use the stock AC wiring, or at least I am. I'm integrating the pressure switch and clutch switch into the '79 factory AC wiring, its really one wire loop from the VAC Panel. The one thing that wont happen, and I still have no idea around, is to "tell" the ford control pack the AC is on to idle up. Im assuming that the ford control pack ECU's idle and drive strategy will just see the extra load from the compressor and be fine. But Im not certain yet. Going to be one of those things that will just play by ear once the car is running. The Fans, I wont be able to use stright from the ford control pack. The control pack harness will trigger a relay to kick the fans on, the AC on wire will also trigger that same relay. Would make life easier if Ford included an AC trigger input from the control pack to tell when the AC was on.
There is someone called 'fathead garage' that sells ac wiring kits for mustangs with these swaps. You can chose either Holly or Ford racing control pack and whichever compressor you have. It has all the relays/WOT cutoff/ Fan relays all wired up for you. But it is expensive at $300. Might be worth checking out.@@HOUSEOFDULA

Same buddy. Not mine either. But being cool is important when your 44 years old here in the summer time lol .
It's was an '89 GT. TH-cam won't let you put your email address in the comments.
BOOM WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER. Shoot me an email prisonplanet88@gmail.com
As always great video Mike. Your tubing bending skills are really good for a first timer brother! Congrats!
Thanks! Ive done brake lines, but I mean that was 10 years or so ago, brake lines are a little easier to work with

Can’t wait for the next video
Should be today!
One of your best videos ever
I really appreciate that! This one took time.

Yessir! THe video frankly as usual was just way too long, so I didnt film crimping it
Mike ,
Just out, Vintage Air introduced at SEMA a complete AC kit for the Foxbody.
@@charleschurilla3629Man no kidding?? A little too late for me, but Checking it out
I think fatfenders garage ac kit would have been a one stop shop. That is the kit I plan on running. Still an awesome job figuring it out yourself.

@@4eyefox THERE we go! That does look nice. Dang. Yeah nice stuff! That would have worked too, I guess I went the cheaper DIY route ;)

Great info. I am also looking to upgrade my 79 to a newer ac, still will be a 5.0 Windsor car.
Sweet. Then hopefully this helps you out.
Definitely coming along.
Nice job Mike! Very OEM looking install!
Thank you sir!
Omg aawho would have thought AC systems are a lot of work? Not me. Lol great job seeing it thru!
lol thank you. Yeah a little more to it, but still once you figure it out its easy.
This is what I’ve been waiting for!!! Hey do you know if your setup would work with SN95 a/c setup??
I honestly am not familiar with the Sn95, but as close as they are to a fox, and still a fox platform, Id be willing to bet it would be very similar if not exactly the same.
Nice job. The car you got the motor out of was a 93 GT and it is a 347.
Negative. Its not a stroker.
87 white gt
Negative.
How do you plan on doing wiring? I also have a Ford racing control pack with no ac provision and stock wiring has been removed.
