It adds a little extra performance. So? 4. Options - they probably went this way to keep a reasonable base price. You can opt out lower trims to 70-75k and you end up better if you go for the high trims straight away. This way it's even a better deal. 4.5 since wheels or whatever your problem was. Totally different but have you seen a Tesla configurator and what they charge for "premium" wheels? Guess wheels are eeeefin expensive. Not a ram only thing. Find it expensive don't order it. Those who order it probably have the funds. (and for them it's worth the money) And finally I dislike this content what you did with the limited. This way viewers can think about it too. Oh wait. that's only 1 video half the views.... :P
I totally agree with you. The air suspension has been great for me. This channel is losing credibility. My biggest complaints with the limited is the forward collision warning is overly sensitive when passing bikers and frankly scary. Also the width of the truck is a lot when driving and parking in the city. I believe the F-150 is 2-3” narrower.
Its more of an Austin Texas thing, from my own experiences when I drive through all the towns of Texas all I see is either regular pick ups or lifted trucks.
@@Jesus-yr7nk assuming theirs is a 2021+ model, I don’t think they have the infamous rear window trim crack, sun/moon roof trim crack, or engine block crack. Biggest issue might be fuel, but if you can afford of of these trucks, you can afford the food for it
This video is misleading. I have limited night edition with everything except the protection group, ram box, and multifunction tailgate. 1. Price 59k 2. Doesn't have the chrome 3. The suspension doesn't lower when I remote start, it stays high. 4. Off road stuff isn't really why I got the limited, it's like a business professional truck to me.
@@aaronbritt2025 my sticker price was 74k I negotiated for the base price and 0.9 apr. I say that understanding a Ford with the same features was averaging around 80k. That's why I say it's misleading because I know all the other big truck names do the same thing they charge for all that stuff.
@@nobs.1794 The reason why we compare sticker prices is because discounts are going to vary based on regional rebates and how willing the dealer is to negotiate. Take my loaded with every option '18 F150 Lariat powerstroke. Sticker was $69k. I paid $46k because I'm friends with the finance manager. He gave me the maximum discount, plus he searched out every available rebate. Not everyone would get that price. Btw, you misunderstood the part about the truck lowering. Ben didn't remote start it to lower it. There's a button on the remote to lower the truck. This is mostly for loading stuff into the bed.
Exactly, etorque is mostly to help the engine Stop-Start to have smoother restart, and it gives you few hp in some scenarios. Other than that, just having the engine without etorque is a downgrade
Use my air suspension all the time, but I use my truck for hauling boats, cars, and snowmobiles. It’s invaluable for hooking up trailers leveling a load. It was an option on my Laramie and I’d option it again in a heartbeat.
Dude can’t even stay properly in his lane while driving and he’s giving pros and cons. Get a different life buddy. This one’s not for you. Complaining about air suspension, which you can leave in standard setting if you don’t like it. About chrome and options which are totally personal preferences. And wrong information about the engines. What’s wrong with having an eTorque which only provides more torque when needed and doing nothing bad to fuel economy or driving experience? This man is total bullshit.
@ubeuonly 1 I've owned Ford limited and King ranch, I've owned Ram Limited and Longhorn. All within the past 4 years consecutively. The latest offering from Ford is better than their past offerings, but Ram is the better vehicle for so many reasons.
@ubeuonly 1 I have 2 limiteds first model and 21 model all lifted by bds rides better then lowerd height. I have 18 model with only 3k miles that's been garage kept never been use. Going sell it for a 2022 2500 limited ram is going have air ride all 4 corners on diesel models
Stellantis are junk. I had a ‘19 and ‘20 longhorn and they were junk. Got rid of the 19 to get the 20. Traded in for a 21 F-150. Good so far. Time will tell.
@@usmcgrunt02 every single Ford I've owned had issues. Leaky moon roof, trans, brake failure. Haven't had even one issue with either the 20 or the 21 Rams I've owned.
you just shocked me that you're 23. Thought you were near 29, glad to know a young man so mature and understanding of autos is doing good work these days.
Love my Limited. Yes, auto makers are "creative" in how they package the options. What can you do? A bigger engine might require other drive train, chassis, body changes. The eTorque is way plenty. And yes, it is basically a luxury car dressed as a truck. It's not supposed to be a TRX. I do agree that my personal style does not prefer the chrome. Anyway, fun to see you driving in my backyard!! Now I know who's driving the white limited!
I wouldn't want the e torque system, the power running boards, or the air suspension because those are absolute failure points and expensive to fix and/or replace.
@@BenHardyCars Yea just ordered mine with the air suspension delete -995 CAD and without the e-torque here in Canada. I also got the off-road group and if you don't care about REAR ventilated seats and the harman/kardon you can just order the advanced safety package and save almost 2000CAD
@@SeahawkAz okay, and you option out a Rebel? Stitched or perforated true leather, 19 speaker Harmon-Kardon, 12 inch display, with/without air-suspension, basically whatever you want.

I love your videos but this one is terrible. It’s reaching to be honest and that title. I know you think you need clickbait titles for people to watch but really you don’t. Good content sells itself. Also you can still get a ram without etorque. I do agree with you that they need a bigger engine option for the Ram.
"Hate" the air suspension? Then look at a lower trim level and add options form there. The 5.7 has plenty of HP and TQ for the 1500 and the MPG isn't crushed like it would be with the 6.4L Hemi. It's a plush pick up, not a wanna-be TRX.
@@aaronbritt2025 So 395HP isn't "enough" HP to satisfy your desire and you want the extra 15HP the 6.4L has? Here's and option - Talk to Modern Muscle Extreme and they'll make your wallet yowl in pain when you mash the throttle with a stupid grin on your face while you watch your fuel level drop like there's a hole in the tank after they get done doing up a 5.7L for you. But yeah, you want 15 more ponies because it's not an option. Neither is a Hellephant engine in the 1500 so why stop at a mere 410HP with the 6.4 when you can really cry poor and drop $30,000 on the 1000HP monster that will rip your eyebrows from your head in one fell swoop.
I love the air suspension. Can tow 11,500lbs with hardly any squat. And easily lift with links and convert back if needed warranty work. They should make it dual zone, one setting for height & another control for stiffness.
@@BenHardyCars Nah you good it's just mistake. I just like the new ram I've multiple Ford's and GM's over the years. And I never cared for Ram Trucks until I sat in one and drove it. First thing I noticed it was very comfortable and luxurious. Ford and GM's look like dog crap compared to the new Ram's
Friendly reminder that the Hardon/Kardon system is tuned really badly from the factory Also I love how he talks about the truck’s performance lacks while driving in the bike lane
The new Rams are the softest looking trucks I’ve ever seen. I’ve lived overseas, so I’ve seen some soft trucks. Ugly exterior with a gorgeous interior.
I just bought a 2021 with the Night Edition and it's looks amazing! The only complaint that I have about it is that I couldn't get the Indigo Frost interior that I wanted bcuz black is standard. But was still happy to have bought it bcuz it's a great truck! I'd like to see your 5 things that you like about the RAM 1500 LIMITED bcuz there's so much more to love about this truck than hate it.
You’re a little off on your 6.4 specs. When put into a 3/4 ton pickup, the 6.4 has 410 hp and 420 ft lbs of torque. With that little of an increase over the 5.7 it wouldn’t be worth the extra money for such a little gain
I still think this is an awesome truck, lol; by far one of the nicest and most capable pickups I've ever seen! These are minor trade-offs, imo... I can see a regular naturally aspirated V8 as being wanted though.
@@carlosmorris4510 that doesn't matter lol, the E-Torque essentially replaces a regular alternator, it has nothing to do with how the motor breathes/takes in air
Some of us actually like chrome. Regarding the 6.4 Hemi, are you looking for the 6.4 that is in HD trucks or the one that is in the Challengers/Chargers?
@@BenHardyCars Just wondering if you can actually tow with that. I understand that there are a number of differences between the two for the purpose of towing.
I agree with everything you said. To add to you air suspension hate, coming from the north (Dilworth, MN), my 2014 Ram Limited w/ air suspension freezes up when the temperature gets to 20 degrees or lower. When notify Ram on Twitter, they say to go to your dealer to get fixed. When going to the dealer, they say it’s an “engineering defect” and they can perform a temporary fix for around $300.00 but it will happen again. When notifying Ram once again on Twitter they just say the same thing. So if I could add a 6th “Hate” to your list, it would be that Ram doesn’t own their mistakes and their customer service is unwilling to help their customers find a reasonable solution to their own engineering mistake. I’ve since paid off my Ram and have a lot invested into it. So at this point, my only way to get around this is to drive my 2014 Honda minivan when it gets to 20 degrees or lower. Go Honda Odyssey!
It’s a common experience with the air suspension freezing up when getting a little cold, and Ram won’t help you. And the system will fail completely just out of warranty
Those safety features in the package you were talking about 5 minutes in are standard on base model Mazda 3's and Hyundai elantras... it is insane that you have to pay extra to add them to a 60k + truck.
Ben I agree with you on the chrome and the engine options, I think you should reconsider you “options vs standard” position because I hear it a lot from others. Anything that you think should be standard that is currently an option would just raise the base price, but the fully loaded price would not change (much), Money is cheap right now, but an additional $20,000 will price some out of the market. So If they included more of the options as standard a portion of their buyers would go in another direction. When I looked at Raptors a couple of years back you could find base models in the $55,000 range and that opened the door for some to get into a Raptor with all of the performance (albeit stripped) and “cool factor” it offers. When I optioned it out the way I would want it, the price rose into the $75,000-$80,000 range. So instead of allowing someone looking in the $40,000 to stretch themselves to be able to get into a Raptor, Ford would have simply priced them out of the market. I am torn on the airbags as standard. I had a Sequoia with standard rear airbags and they really helped reduce the sag when towing, but in this case having them on four corners standard seems like overkill.
This video is basically the equivalent of a GT3RS owner yapping about how he hates that his 911 has a fire extinguisher if he is not currently on fire.
My 2018 jeep grand Cherokee trail hawk has the air suspension system, it’s nice while driving on the road because it’ll change the height to be more aerodynamic, but it would also be useful in the truck for me so I could lower it to make it easier to load my motorcycle on to the bed of the truck
I disagree with you on the Air Suspension, on the chrome appearance and on the 5.7 just offer a option with more hp 400-420 and raise the tq but keep the same weight helping with towing. I do agree with you on the limited level 1 package should be included on limited and cant stand those 22 in wheels for $2200 either. but would like to have the option of a 3:55 rear axle. for those that tow some but not a lot, a little of both worlds
It’s gonna be funny in 20 years with all of these rams driving around slammed to the ground when the suspensions stop working just like the Lincoln mark 8’s
I agree with you on this subject. This has been one of my major gripes with this truck. It is under powered in comparison to other premium trucks. Chevy has the High Country with 430 hp. This Ram is only producing 395 hp, definitely under powered. Ram you can do a lot better.
@ubeuonly 1 that Ford Pussy truck out pulls the Ram by far. My Ecoboost sounds like crap but I buy it for towing not for sounding good. And if you don’t get the air suspension in the Ram a jet ski will squat it as much as my Ford with 6000 pounds. And the GM twins 6.2 also out tows the Ram, and squats even less than the Ford.
@@johnvaras1764 the Limited is a luxury truck at a reasonable price. It has pickup truck capability around 60% of the price of a TRX. One can buy a Limited, trailer, and have a lot better off road capability in a RZR and still be thousands of dollars ahead of the purchase of TRX.
@@davidporter7051 In my opinion. Your comparing the same brand but different models. Like a f150 limited to a raptor. It doesn’t make sense to me. They are built for different applications. If money isn’t an issue then buy both lol. I’m not trying to knock you but I think you should compare a limited ram to a platinum Ford. Same playing field built for the same application. Compare a trx to a raptor. That’s just what I’m thinking.
Does the air suspension allow you to drive off in whatever it is set in when you get in? For instance can you lower it and drive off right away before raising it or do you have to wait till it raises again after you get in?
Yeah. Glad there wasn’t any bikers on that road. And even when it wasn’t a bike lane, he was driving with 1/4 of his truck in the next lane. Good night, kid..
I Definitely like just the regular naturally aspirated Hemi in my Ram over the other engine choices I had to choose from. I figured it was just more stuff that could break and give me a headache after the warranty goes out. Nice video!
I love the Air Suspension, I tow a camper and it levels right up. Plus rides like a dream…I love the chrome on my Limited. I do wish they offered the 6.4 Hemi
No way to justify the price. Compared to lower level editions, this shares frame, transmission, axle, body, and warranty. You're paying a very high price for the slight variances in trim on the outside ($2,095 for wheels over an above the standard issue, that's pure profit) and for a some upgrades inside, otherwise it's the same thing as a Big Horn trim. The up charge for the variance is extreme.
I have worked on over a dozen of these trucks and i have never ben in one with 50+ thousand miles that did not have a severe lifter tick in the engine.... i wouldn't recommend buying one.
@Mike G. Found this Channel and your comment. I bought a Laramie, used with low miles, from a family I know in my neighborhood. I live in Minnesota where the temperature can get way below zero. I just got hurt at work, with a questionable prognosis. Would a trade up to a Ltd. with an air suspension help me navigate getting in and out of the truck better? I'm wondering if the cold winters would hinder the air function from working right. THANK YOU for any insight!

@@JamesJohnson-ig6of Wow! That’s a nightmare. Good luck on your recovery! I did have an issue with the rear suspension about 2 years ago. Somehow, water got into them just before winter. The water turned to ice, which happens in Buffalo as winter sets in. I’m sure you know that living in Minnesota. Lol. The compressor kept trying to pump air but the air was getting blocked by the ice, therefore it burned out. Luckily, it happened just before the warranty expired. Would’ve been very expensive to fix. That’s something to keep in mind. I have 94k miles on my 2015 Rebel and it’s treated me well. Having some steering issues now. Felt like I was losing power steering intermittently. Went to check the PS fluid. No reservoir. It’s electric steering. Above my pay grade. Things happen at 94k miles. I also have the Ram Box. Mixed feeling about it when I bought it but it’s awesome now. It leaves me a full view out the rear window instead of partially blocking it with my tool box. My thumbnail is my truck. The skids plates for me are like money in the bank. While you're tooling down the highway you always run the risk of hitting some other guy's junk like a rotted muffler or tire recap that fell off their vehicle and doing significant damage to your vehicle. I once hit a piece of metal while exiting off a highway that torn a rip in my Mustang's rear bumper. It costs over $400 to fix.
Ben, I think my issue is all the positive reviews you give on the Ram in previous videos, you don't mention any of these issues during those videos. This is very confusing.
Ben, does the longhorn come standard with air suspension? My gripe is up in here in Canada the air suspension fails all the time. Buuuuutttttt I want the head lights on the limited/longhorn. I also work in the oil patch and do a lot of off road driving. Thanks and love the content!
No. I got a 2019 Longhorn and no air suspension. I could of ordered it but even the dealer said our climate is to cold for it. So I didn’t opt for the air suspension. I love the truck so far
You have some good videos. But this one feels like you just ran out of material so you made this stuff up. Texas comment makes me think you have never been to Texas. The air ride, give me a break. Petty stuff because you just needed to crap out another video. Stick to quality not quantity with your videos. Also, stop driving in the bike lane, your going to kill someone. I do plan on buying a Ram soon and your other videos have been helpful. Thanks !
A couple points and I know that you know the list you made is just nitpicking but just my thoughts: 1. The air suspension is more for Ride comfort and less for going off road. Especially with those wheels. 2. They do offer premium wheels as standard. These are the optional wheels, most manufacturers offer additional premium wheels including Ford and GM.
I love the car. My local dealers are assholes. I had a ‘19 1500 bighorn with level 2 and moonroof. I spent 2 months trying to work sort my dealers to get into another one. All they did was try to upsell me, or make my payment high to steer me away. They wouldn’t do a buyout to use equity. Ford leaped at the opportunity. So I’m in an f150 for the next 3 years
Got 2019 limited here and glad i bought it when i did , absolutely love it.. i opted out to avoid etorque just another bug to go wrong and a future repair bill, now everyone has not even a choice, only complaint id say was the rear window frame getting the hairline cracks above the slider but thats covered anyway, but sofar so good knock on wood
You may want to look into things before posting. You can order the Limited with the air suspension deleted and you get a discount. In Ontario Canada, many dealers order all their Limiteds without because they are known for issues.
It’s hard to agree with the idea that they should make more things standard. You can’t expect a low base price and then expect more stuff packed into that base model without the price jumping. The more options people have, the more freedom they have. Let’s keep it the way it is.
My laramie was more than a base limited lol. Thats why you have to be careful, if you option the laramie too high you might as well spring for the limited. My truck is a sport with the pano sunroof and level 1 equipment group. I don't have level two and i have the base hemi. If you get level two, air suspension, rambox and the eco diesel I bet the laramie would sticker for almost $70,000

The engine is naturally aspirated. Etorque has nothing to do with the aspiration. These points are totally illegitimate. The 5.7L Limited is amazing

Also, I will never purchase another Ram because of this experience.
It’s a common experience with the air suspension freezing up when getting a little cold, and Ram won’t help you. And the system will fail completely just out of warranty

several minutes of "i spent more money than i needed to because i wanted a badge that says limited on my truck"
Those safety features in the package you were talking about 5 minutes in are standard on base model Mazda 3's and Hyundai elantras... it is insane that you have to pay extra to add them to a 60k + truck.
What’s your mpg? I get 11.5 with mine
Supposedly, the air suspension provides a smooth carlike ride. It sure does for the Benz s-class.
Please re-title, “5 things I have no business hating on the Ram 1500 Limited because I should have bought an Acura”

Who keeps a truck 20 years?
Be ready to pay 5000 + for repair air ride.
The Limited should come with the 6.4L Hemi. When you consider the F150 is available with a 430 hp/570 tq hybrid engine, this is severely underpowered.
I agree with you on this subject. This has been one of my major gripes with this truck. It is under powered in comparison to other premium trucks. Chevy has the High Country with 430 hp. This Ram is only producing 395 hp, definitely under powered. Ram you can do a lot better.
@ubeuonly 1 The truck needs more power.
Ben. I disagree on this one. I prefer the Limited over the TRX.
Why do you prefer the limited over the trx
@@johnvaras1764 the Limited is a luxury truck at a reasonable price. It has pickup truck capability around 60% of the price of a TRX. One can buy a Limited, trailer, and have a lot better off road capability in a RZR and still be thousands of dollars ahead of the purchase of TRX.

Ben I'm happy to see your sub count it's been insane lately, keep up the hard work buddy!
A couple points and I know that you know the list you made is just nitpicking but just my thoughts:

I have a level B laramie, 12" info, bed, and few other goodies.....MSRP was 61.5k...
I didn't want air susp, pano roof or 22" rims.....
Supply was short so few things I wish I would have got but can add them......
Always buy factory interior and features that can't be added or really expensive.
exterior is easy....suspension, wheels and I didn't get limited slip diff which is fine cuz it sucks anyway......I'll put an eaton truetrac in along with suspension and wheels......done deal
@@kirkdunn1379 Just found this Channel, and looking for some pointers. Hope you can. I got into a almost new Laramie. It was a neighbor's wife's truck. Lot of custom like a matching steel bed cover with struts, black Ram carpet and lighting in the truck bed. I live in Minnesota, where the winters are cold. Would a air suspension help getting in and out, since recently I got hurt at work? My work truck was a Dodge Dakota, 4-wheel drive which always got me to work and back home. I garaged the Laramie for the winter. If I improve my mobility, maybe just drive a beater for the winter with the corrosive road salt, and keep hibernating my Laramie? THANK YOU for any thoughts!
@@JamesJohnson-ig6of lower you can get vehicle to ground the easier....if air suspension lowers vehicle below factory height there would be an advantage....if it lowers to std height than it's same as any other Ram
@@kirkdunn1379 I admit I've never bought a vehicle new, or even any used one at a dealer. I don't want to part with my Laramie, but if an air suspension is something that will help getting in and out, I'd have to consider that. My initial prognosis didn't look promising for much of anything, but now I'm walking on my own, slower though. I'll have to call a local Ram dealership to find out how the different models vary in price. I knew someone that bought a Longhorn, and he said he'd never buy anything else. A concern of mine about air suspensions, is that Minnesota is notorious for very cold temps in the winter. Tonite the forecast low is close to -30 degrees. THANK YOU, I appreciate any advice from people who know!
If you are trying to get into a standard garage or parking garage, the entry exit setting with the air suspension is great and a necessity.
Use the air suspension all the time to raise the truck when I’m driving out of my neighborhood after a dumping of deep snow.
I bought a Longhorn so I didn't have to get the air suspension and got the cheaper wheels because I was just gonna change them out. I spent a month looking for the truck with the options I wanted. I do agree that they should give you the bigger engine option.
Agree, I wish my 2020 RAM limited had the 6.4L. Don't know why they (FCA now Stellantis) is letting Ford get ahead of them on the HP war in the top of the line model... Also, I HATE - HATE - HATE the shifter knob on the dash. Bring back the center console shifter that they are now using in the "T-REX" !!! There's plenty of room in the center console anyway...
You're 23 and owned how many different vehicles? Thanks for making me rethink my life choices. I'll go cry in my 2007 civic si🥲🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Lol
😆😆😆
It needs power tilt and trim steering wheel too. And one touch up/down power windows.
The way it looks is that you probably received a corporate loaner to review. The beauty about these trucks is you can option it the way you want. And if you bought this truck then like some of the other reviewers said you bought the wrong trim level. For an upgraded engine you have the TRX. If you don't want air suspension get the laramie or the way I like to do is start of with the big horn and then option it out. A lot of the truck owners are not geeky hence the tech package is optional ...
You need a little picture of yourself pointing in the thumbnail if you expect to challenge Scotty the TH-cam automotive click bait king.
Just make sure you trade the truck in before the motor start to do the mopar tap.
That will happen around 60K
Hands down the worst review of the ram 1500, grow up
