@@live2fishofficial the Suzuki was great super reliable. I fished every Sunday last summer in the California delta and only went through a gallon of fuel.
Didn't get arrested hahaha Loved that part. Good to know about that unit with the motor on it then lol. Nice fishing!!! I LOVE those prowlers btw! Lol slapping stickers on there stuff. They had a big arse motor on that lol. Dont think the saucer could have outran it lol
Glad to hear they cut Brett some slack. I used to work for the DNR in Indiana (as a biologist, not an officer). Had an officer give me some great advice though... Never volunteer to show your license. An officer friend was checking fishing licenses when he came upon a man he had ticketed in the past for fishing without a license. This year, however, the man was legal. As the officer was leaving, this man's buddy asks, "don't you wanna see mine?" So the officer checks this guy's license against his driver's license and the birthdays don't match (clerk accidentally swapped the day and month)... But the guy paid for the license and signed it. So now my officer buddy has no choice but to write a ticket to a guy who was trying to do the right thing, but didn't check his info when he bought his (invalid) license... No one was happy about it, not the officer, nor the unintentional poacher! Moral of the story: Check your info when you buy a license, and NEVER volunteer your license or ID to law enforcement... Let them request it.
That’s crazy that they wouldn’t have the discretion to just tell him to get it fixed. You’d think that the court would definitely side in his favor over a clerical error. That’s solid advice tho, based on that experience. They were totally cool with us and Brett was up front and honest about it. It was good to see officers using discretion and education over citations. Thanks for the input, I’m sure it’s advice many will find useful!👍
@Live 2 Fish The whole point of signing the license is that you have to verify that your personal info is correct. If it's not correct, you just refuse to sign it and they print a corrected one. If you sign it with incorrect info, that's fraud. They do this to prevent straw sales... For example, Bob Smith Sr. is a scofflaw who lost his fishing privileges for 20 years, but his son, Bob Smith Jr. is in good standing with the law... So Dad has Jr go buy a license that Dad intends to use, thinking that having the same name will be good enough.
@Live 2 Fish I just called my officer buddy to get clarification on this because it happened in 2010 and my memory ain't what it used to... uh... be. So what happened was the guy had the license with the typo birthday, which made it invalid. So my buddy gave him a ticket for fishing without a license, but gave him the stipulation that if he got a new, correct, license within a week, and came to the office to show it, then the ticket would be dismissed... And that's what happened. But the officer was pissed because it's enough paperwork just to write the ticket, even more to keep track and dismiss it. The angler had to pay full price for a second license due to his oversight.
@@live2fishofficial he wouldn't have had to pay if he followed directions the first time. Personally, I'd rather pay the extra $30 or so than a poaching ticket.
2nd one was pulling the ultra skiff 😉 that was hilarious with the cheers then the boo’s😆😂 Bunch of beautiful bass Joe!!! Bummer with DNR and the trolling motor. Great video as always brother!
Just about all the videos I watch from my fellow Michiganders St. Clair must be a go to lake. There’s some good ones from my northern Michigan home turf. That’s I usually fish when I go home for a visit. Great stuff. Dave - Currently in Texas
Hey Dave!👋 Lake St Clair is definitely world class. We get folks from all over coming here to fish the multitude of species it offers. For content creators, it offers some of the best action and footage around hands down. I’m with you on the northern lakes. I’ve had the pleasure of fishing a lot of the inland lakes around (Gladwin to Lupton are special to me) and they are fantastic! Some of the best bass fishing I’ve ever experienced has been up that way. So many diverse opportunities and so much less pressure than LSC. Thanks for checking out the channel and thank you for the comment! Hope you enjoy the content as much as I like putting it together!👍
There are stickers? hmmm....... Most of the time the wildlife guys are pretty chill. I've had several interactions with the FWC and even some local law enforcement while fishing and never had any issues. Be polite, be licensed, and be on your way LOL Great catches bro!
Wow! Love the change of vibes in the first 30 seconds😂 DNR officers better put those stickers on there boat! Great day of spinnerbait bass, almost gar and encounters! Keep the content coming!
Awesome bass joe ! I like what you did to the video. The added music and sounds. Cool that no one got a ticket or anything. Crazy you have to register something with a trolling motor. Great session 👊
Thanks for the feedback Jared! I’m trying some new things creatively this season and hope people are enjoying the content as much as I am enjoying putting it together!
You know what would be really cool, if they come by again and those stickers are on their boat :) As you said, just doing a job and trying to keep everyone playing by the rules, so be nice people. Awesome session Joe, some very nice Bass and a couple really good tugs :) Great job as always, cheers!
Texas is the same way with Kayaks. Paddle and Pedal Drives don't have to be registered but putting even a trolling motor on changes everything lol. Glad to see the encounter went well for you. I have only been stopped in Texas twice by the Game Wardens and both times the Officers were very nice about everything and even offered fishing location tips 😂🤣👍. Man I have wanted an encounter for the channel but ever since I started filming... not a single one lol. Some solid bass you guys were on up there! Gotta love it when the bass stack up in an area 👍. It seemed like the bite died when that sun got high in the sky... same thing happens here for sure! Loved the music choices bro! That Barren Gates song is 🔥
Thanks Matt! I always love going thru tracks to set the vibe for the vids I add them too. I really don’t know how I HAVEN’T run into more DNR personnel given the amount of time I’m on the bank and the water. I’m almost out daily from March thru October and just haven’t been approached, until this day. Brett and I were just sitting and talking when we saw a bot flying towards us. I assumed it was a pleasure boater and that they didn’t see us. I was wrong…😂🤣 Thanks for watching brother, appreciate the comment!👍
Lucky you had the get out of jail free stickers 😅 Awesome episode as always and that bit of information may save a few other anglers who add a trolling motor 👍🏼
Hey Joe, That's great that the DNR agents were helpful and informed you of the regulations. Nice outing with some quality bass as usual. Well done my friend.
Lots of great content so far Joe....and it ain't even June yet!
Thank you my friend! Hope you’re feeling better. It’s good to see some nice weather for once!
Love the stickers to the DNR 👍
Hahahahaha! Thanks man!
Same with California. I had a trolling motor and a 2.5hp Suzuki on my prowler
I’ve thought about swapping one of those 2.5hp engines for my trolling motor to get me out faster. How’d you like it?
