- I spent an incredible day hiking in Muskoka Lakes, Ontario Canada, to explore Hardy Lake and do some Autumn (Fall) landscape photography.
It’s my first time exploring the trails at Hardy Lake and, wow, the location did not disappoint!
This immediately became my favourite hiking trail in Southern Ontario, within a 2 hour drive of the GTA, and I’ll be back when the first snow comes, for sure!

Nicely done! It’s the kind of place you need to camp for a few days so you can get the changing light from sunrise to sunset, some mist, interesting clouds, etc. You’ve really captured a beautiful part of Ontario.

Thanks Joshua, the photography really is secondary for me when out hiking in such a wonderful location. Of course, making a video about it does mean I need to try and get a few half-decent images, lol.
Love this hiking trail. Ontario is full of great treails like this.
It's one of my favourites within a 2 hour drive from Toronto.

Great. Classy and polished as always Simon. As I type this a chef program has come on TV and they are talking about how it’s not just about fresh and quality food, it’s how you then prepare and present it. That made me realise that’s what you do with magnificent scenery….you make it so much better by taking the time to present it beautifully. Awesome!

Cheers Daniel, although truth is, in this part of Ontario, its hard to find locations that are photogenic. This one is an exception, and still required a 2 hour drive.

As ever a wonderful combination footage, images n chat. Looks agreat location and when I saw the b-roll of you getting the kit out I thought he's got a big one in that bag..lol. Some wonderful colour as you were walking about, mind I would have been tempted to move within the woodland straight away - saying that I noticed Goosander @ 1:04 and might have been tempted to get the big lens on them (Yep, I am a birdwatcher) A cracking set of images and my fave from the selection was the very autumnal shot at 7:30 - the pano at the end also had my nod. atb Al
Thanks Al, I can always rely on you to cheer me up with your thoughtful comments 🙂 The shot at 7:30 was one of my faves too, it was in the woodland at a pond, I should have spent more time there really. Those Goosey birds (yep, not a birdwatcher) were far away and I was up a cliff at the time. I do plan to return and shoot the wildlife. As usual, despite being there for the day, everything was a bit of a rush, lol. Cheers!

Hi Simon: Thanks for creating and sharing this video with the channel. As am certainly going to be making a trip to this location from our home in Barrie, Ontario. Have you been to the Victoria Falls near Washago (near Orillia)? This is a must see location. Cheers, Keith
Hi Keith, yes, you must visit! I think it's become my favourite location now, so I will be returning again as it's a reasonable 1 hr 40 mins drive. I need to be exploring souther Ontario more, so appreciate the tip about Victoria Falls. Will certainly check that one out soon. Cheers!

I'm using the Nikon Z6 here, although I do have Z50 and use that the most for travel photography.
