- PART OF OUR PHILIPPINES BEACH HOUSE GOT DESTROYED! But it wasn't that big or bad... luckily.
A tropical storm hit Davao Oriental Province while we were in the mountains of Davao Del Norte. Arriving back on the coast, we saw a little bit of damage and debris around the area. What happened? Well, this raw life video from the coast of Mindanao and our beach home will explain it.
I also ended up finding a cool Japan Surplus shop in Baganga!
Stormy weather... but still good vibes here in Davao!

I didn;t know that you played golf. And I love to play golf too. It's so funny that with thousands of items in the Japan Surplus store that can be used for the house, yo bought a set of golf clubs!! And the set looks really good. Is the set and bag new? Is it a brand name set?
I just hope you can play again once your injured shoulders totally healed. You know, once a golfer, always a golfer. It's a love-hate relationship sport. Awesome!!

The coffee and the tagum pie is delicious
You need to have a "stilted" cemented bungalow house on a steel roof, later on, living beside that region. Save an investment, not on the easily deteriorated things like nipa hut because most who invested does not actually invest but has kept on spending for the maintenance.
Exactly what I was thinking, you will spend more money repairing rather than actually building something more expensive but sturdy that will battle against the strong wind and water. One more storm and you will be back rebuilding everything again, whoever advised you to build this kind of dwelling must have set aside that the Philippines has lots of typhoon. (my kind way of saying it is a dumb idea)
@@nivlemunitedkingdom9870 Initially when I saw it, I was honestly worried because base on the location and the pattern of the wave is giving the sand a fine texture(base on the aerial video) which means there is a history of strong rain/wave and wind passing that area. Stilt concrete post and concrete floor are needed. base on my experience. "No Pun intended" just plain experience and good humble opinion guys. God bless. keep up.
@@ChillinDylan , just a little adjustment is needed. I myself built some nipas it's Good very comfortable but depends on the location some areas are just too windy and wavy especially on the open sea area. avoid that Coco lumber they are only good for a short time even the good ones( Don't make it into a post lol)

Yaaaayyy!!! for the golf clubs!!! Love the sport. Kulas, now try to find a golf course and play as soon as your shoulder heals.
For a more stable dwelling or shelter make a small home made of solid concrete and make it 2 storey minimum.w concrete roof and deck this will serve also as your evacuation center in case of storm surge . At the roof deck put some life saving equipments like lifeboat , life jacket , food provisions ...
anyway it’s an investment also since you can have it rented as soon as tourism resumes

The bamboo blinds were not strongly and welldone against strong winds/storms. Good youve got wave protections like trees fences for the house, it was not tsunami.
Storm/typhoon, part of life specially in the province of the Philippines. Nothing can’t be fixed and you are lucky you can easily get that bamboo materials. I’m the same Kulas, I get so excited if I stumble upon any surplus store. Looked like Kumar and Jandee were so excited with your find. Hope to see you teaching them how to hit golf balls.😊

Kyle, If you go online you can find foam rubber golf practice balls that fly like a real ball. They are really cheap , and if they go into the water they float , no pollution !! It is May , can we expect THE PHILIPPINES OPEN golf tournament in let's say 90 days , first prize buko pie !! Be careful you can have McGiver and a engineer in the competition trying to out play you !!
