Listened to this and got emotional. Lost my brother last year. I used to give him shit calling him by his middle name, Luther, son’n him😂. I know he would have loved this whole album from Kendrick. We always talked how hip hop took a wrong turn and how good music and melodies were missing, like how we grew up in the 80’s. I thank God that I’m alive to enjoy this because so many of us aren’t. If you remember ‘THE WOOD’ a movie that came out mid 90s with Morris chestnut and some other other actors, including Omar Epps, it was about Inglewood California, and this song was one of the most climactic parts of the movie because Omar apps got to dance with his love interest to this song at their high school dance, so there’s so many references that he stays true to while also paying homage to some of the greatest that we’ve lost
