  • In the second part of Robson Green's adventure along Hadrian's Wall, he travels from Chollerford to Walltown Crags, and learns more of how the Romans took care of themselves so far from home. Sampling some natural cuisine and visiting the spa at Chester's Fort, and the latrines of Housesteads that were once the envy of an empire, he goes on to pit his fishing abilities, gladiator style, against an angling viral, climbs Steel Rigg to reach the route's highest summit and take in a Centurion's view from Winshields Crag, and spends a night under the stars over Northumberland National Park.
In this show, Robson Green will walk along one of Britain's most impressive archaeological monuments: Hadrian's Wall. Hadrian's Wall was the north-west frontier of the Roman empire for nearly 300 years. The most famous of all their frontiers, it was made a World Heritage Site in 1987 and spans 73 miles long and has stood since AD 128 after Emperor Hadrian's visit in AD 122. Across this series, our presenter will tread in ancient footsteps - meeting characters, visiting nearby landmarks and taking in dramatic landscapes as they go.
