    The little river mallet ended up at Deep river logging at Deep river, Wash. It then went to Snoqualmie Falls and then to Mount Rainier scenic railway where it was sold to the Oregon Coast Scenic railway where it has been finally rebuilt and is now back in service there.

    Mallet No.7 a 2-4-4-2 built in 1909 is now rebuilt and back in service at the Oregon Scenic railway at Garibaldi, Ore.

      When was this?? I went several years ago and they just had a heisler, this is great news!

      @@GudrezBilly They got it about two years ago and the MRSR had rebuilt most of it.

    INCORRECT !! Baldwin "DID" Build TWO "Narrow Gauge" 2-6-6-2 Mallets for the
    "Uintah Railroad in Utah/ Colorado # 50 and # 51 Both were 2-6-6-2 Tank locomotives .

    I know this is still classified as a tank engine but for tank engine this 2-6-6-2 is a absolute U N I T of a tank engine.

    Clover Valley #4 is currently being restored for operation at Niles Canyon Railway.

      And the Harzer Schmalspurbahnen in Germany too uses mallets from 1899 on an daily basis.
