Just so everyone is aware, there is no documented case of anyone poisoning or putting razor blades in halloween candy. Also the chatter who was like, "the guy who is giving out hundreds of poisoned candies from their home address with face visible" was so good
well there was that one time a parent poisoned their own kid's candy and tried to get away with it saying someone must have been giving out poisoned candy.

Holy shit, he just blew my mind with the Sensodyne toothpaste thing. I used to get canker sores ALL the time. The toothpaste I used? Blue Sensodyne. At some point I switched to Colgate and haven't had one in years. I never made the connection until now

many colgate toothpastes still have sodium lauryl sulfate in them, you have to be careful and pick the specific flavors/formulations that don't
I got prevident from my dentist and it's specifically for sensitive teeth. I find it helps with sores and the sensitivity but that's anecdotal.
I’ve got to put down my pogs for this one. No one has ever put poison or drugs or razor blades into kids candy or cookies for Halloween. It’s literally never happened, ever. Even with all the news stories there hasn’t even been a copycat. It’s irrational suburban terror, extending from an irrational fear of strangers.
it happened once in the 90s when a father put cyanide in his sons candy to get life insurance. then never. literally never happened again lol

I don't have children, so it's just a thought experiment for me. But my issue with the baked goods is less about intentional poisoning and more about accidental food poisoning from a dirty house/someone who doesn't practice good food hygiene practices. It's the same reason for avoiding most stuff at an office potluck - Barbara might mean well, but I don't know how well she washed her hands.
