Does Larry makes his own rigs?.....how does he get those long tags!....I use a rig board but its hard to get the tags that long....I wonder if he uses a rig board set up?.....I ran into Larry at the beach a few years ago but didn't get a chance to talk to him...….
when Larry talks about leaders, I assume he is referring to the rig, not the shock leader itself?.....casting 4oz I use 30lb leader and that is under the suggested minimum, but I use a very slow smooth cast, and haven't had a crack off

I will have to try that...we have been using 30lb for our rigs and leaders...but 15 should be ok for the rigs....in fact a brake off with a shark at the rig is fine with me...beats losing half of my main line....
He doesn’t use shock leaders

What size hook. main line test, and reel is he using here? The rod looks heavy and very long but the reel not so heavy looking.
Bass Star the main line is 20lb, the hook is an Eagle Claw number 2/0 long shank circle hook. The reel is a Fin Nor mega light spinning reel

This is glorious, I have been researching "best fishing line for surf casting" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Wenayden Xenaylee Blaster - (search on google ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my cousin got cool success with it.
