The way to guard such a player is to put lengthy on him to take away the step-back 3 and the pull-up jumper, make him drive (towards the centre) and show him bodies (help D) and make somebody else beat you from the perimeter. The defence has to have chemistry and be on a string to give minimum spacing to the 'other' guards when he swings it to them.

Just like everyone knows Ginobili and Harden are left handed and go left 98% of the time but they aren't easily guarded. (Not saying he's either of these players) however is is not easy to guard.
