I use a 120mm fan as a soldering smoke sucker away type device. High airflow with minimal noise, because it is optimized for pc makes it quite nice. And it lights up blue, so it is pretty. I guess one could fit one in the bathroom ceiling for removal of fugitive flue gas removal too, or to just lie in the bath and stare at. Guy stuff yeah. Thanks for sharing this, entertaining and for someone who needs the guidance it is very useful. Kind regards, Duncan
Every time someone mentions JIS, the same almost religious discussion starts again. There's always those who say that you can only touch the holy JIS screw with the original Japanese Vessel screwdrivers or you will risk total moronic reversal, while the other half always points out that JIS effectively stopped being a thing and modern PH bits do the job just fine. Me, I already have too many screwdrivers, so I'll use one I have laying around and spend my leftover money on popcorn 😬
Could you link where you bought the replacement fans. Did they come connected already? Because the ones I got didn't come connected together and one of the connectors is different then the fans I'm replacing
Fans really seem to be luck of the draw. A generic one will run all day for years, no problem. Then, a "good" brand will start making sounds that ask for a mercy killing after a few months. Sound was a little low scruf. If your volume was a 5 ads are a 7-8. EDIT 😅Forgetting the power supply switch. I've been there done that more than would like to admit to.
I never understood using fluid bearing fans in horizontal configurations. It's always a failure mode. That's why server fans are always vertical.
wont be a concern for much longer....
The way I see it, it's only ever truly yours once you repaired it 😉
awesome. agree

What is that hand held vac you used? That looks useful :)
Is it anti static?

How’s it running
doing great. I ended up selling it to my buddy and buying myself a 4090. Buddy has it overclocked just a pinch more than I had it.
This video could’ve been 4:30 minutes long.
Shoulda been an email.
