Yes they are active military. It is a great honor to be selected for this special duty. Also, remember there is no cadence, no audible commands. I was in the Navy so the only marching in formation i did was in boot camp. It was hard enough to stay in step when you had someone calling out left righ left right and the company commander calling out when to turn when to stop and when to go. This always impresses me because there is no amount of practice that i could do to get to this level of precision. Great reaction to this one.
9:14/For the hostess: This is the part that gets under my skin!! Other people take the football field & they are not supposed to until the military people have left the field!! No one is to walk onto the field until the military people have left the field!! (Because the people of the military have earned their respect, the other people must show them their respect by not going onto the field!!
The people actually on the field are recording audio and video so that people can see this without being physically at the game. Without them being there there would be no video here to comment on. The players on the sidelines don't have much of a choice as this performance is taking place towards the end of half-time and to avoid injuries the players need to ensure their muscles stay warmed up so they do so off the field in the sidelines. Ultimately the people are there to watch the game and no allowance is made by the governing organizations to give a time extension during military performances so the player can wait until the performance is fully complete and still have time to be prepared for the second half of the game.
Not really. The Drill Team was performing at the end of half-time and the players need to get themselves warmed up again to be ready to play once half-time ends. They're doing what they can to minimize it by staying off the field itself, but ultimately the people are there to watch the game first and the players are required to keep themselves loose for the beginning of the game to avoid injuries. If the roles were reversed you could say it's disrespectful when the military does fly-overs as it drowns out the anthem, but compromises are made to accommodate things then, just as in this example.
I loved listening to your commentary during the drill team’s performance!❤️
