- Listen to the sound from 10 different pool carbon fiber shafts. They have all been tested using the same speed when it hits the cue ball. The test range the carbon fiber shafts from the highest pitch sound to the lowest pitch sound.

I don't know if it is just me but there is no sound once you start with Meucci and the audio only came back after with GO customs.
Yeah, the audio started to mute on that part. I don't if it continued to the end as I stopped watching the video.
@Cue Listings the sounds cuts out at the Meucci and doesn't come back until the GO Customs shaft. Was liking the video but I'm interested in the Jacoby.

Whenever you get around to it it would be great if you could do a review of the TIGER Products Fortis carbon fiber shaft. Its comes in 12mm and 12.5mm but I prefer the 12mm. The people need to hear its feedback sound. It’s unlike any other carbon fiber shaft out there in terms of response, sound and mist importantly, playability.

Hello Cue Listings! I really like your videos and I would Imagine you've done a lot of work reviewing all those cf shafts, but I would really loved it if you gave us your thoughts on the Stellar cf shaft made by IQ Cues in Greece who are making some beautiful cues. I'm already using the Infinity wooden shaft from them and I can say it's a really nice shaft, but I haven't yet had the opportunity to test the cf one they make. Anyway keep up the great work and keep having fun playing this game we love so much! ;)

And while waiting for the IQ shaft review, you've got me really curious to try a J.Flowers cue with a cf shaft, just because of the price of the cues and the enthusiasm you show for a cue at that price range :p I'm just wondering what's the easiest way of getting one here in France...
Thank you for this video. I wonder if the sound changes according to joint style as well. For example uniloc has to have a metal joint and this might also increase the sound even more. I am not returning to wood shaft but I do miss its sound.

I don't know much but I personally think not only sound but the feel to it...
I wanted to propose a question for carbon shafts knowing they have foam inserts in them all. Do you know from interviewing the companies of this foam material mixes that are being used would deteriorate at all over time? Most foam materials I know and have seen others work with will shrink in size or even slowly erode away.
I'm not an expert, but knowing a little bit about carbon bikes industry I would guess the foam might be used mostly to help with manufacturing process, and that it doesn't really matter except for adding some artifical weight to the stick.
The foam inside has decent seal so it's not exposed to air and weather conditions like in most cases you were probably thinking of. And even if so, it will happen so slowly and gradually that if you keep playing you'll never notice the difference.
i think in a matter of sound more depends on the cue tip

I currently own the Cuetec synergy. I know it is not shown in your video but what is your favorite carbon fiber cue?
The thing that all archers love..carbon arrows, Recurve bow high modulus carbon limbs.
Great video. I think the Cuetec Cynergy is the quietest of them all. That is what I currently play with now. Switched from the Ignite cause it didn't have enough feel.
The JFlowers and Jocaboy shafts are the quietest. The Cynergy is actually one of the shafts with the highest pitch.
@@CueListings I use a Cynergy on my Mezz with the Wavy and find it quiet without a pitch.
@@CueListings I got my Cuetec Cynergy shaft with SVB butt yesterday, the hitting sound pitch is so high just like a ping sound. Is it how it is? Or something wrong with my cue do you know?

I got a Defy, it sounds good but plays crap... don't spend ur money on it..
Pechauer rogue is similar to the Jacoby, and has the best finish I've seen on a CF.
What do you think of the Bull shaft? I currently play with Cuetec tried Revo and didn’t like it. The Bull has my attention as it’s right in the middle of the Cuetec line at 12.25. And the interchangeable joint pin is kinda cool as I have a few different cues with different pins. And would be nice to compare the shafts on all of them with only the join pin being different
I like the Bull shaft. I'd give it 6.5 out of 10, but on the other hand I only rate the "best" ones 8 out of 10 (imo).

@@davidkihm9186 It's a 12.5. I haven't played with it yet (just shot a couple of shots). It seems a bit subdued iin it's action. I'm not saying thats a bad thing. It's just my initial reaction.

I have a request if you could please. I got lied to when I went to go get a carbon shaft the guy at a well know Billiards store said it was a jacoby carbon I played with it and really liked it. But after doing more research it’s a Dave Pearson carbon shaft I was hoping to see if you could review it and see how it stacks up against others bc I do like it and can’t return it
I find that with a 5/16*14 SS shaft (Like Joss uses) the Revo isn't as pingy...

@@CueListings So nothing wrong with my cue right? this is just how Cuetec Cynergy carbon shaft sounds like? The high pitch ping sound exists no matter I hit it soft or hard.
@@iloveneyoful I can't say with absolute certainty, but I'm afraid so. That's why I made the test. So I can show where the 10 different shafts ranks on the "pitch scale".

I have an xlr8 shaft and It does not dissapoint at all. Its $275 though I believe and not $375. But I could be wrong.

How much does the tip affect the overall sound?
Highly. So does the butt, and so does the pin. If however, he used the same butt, pin, and tip on these recordings, this will be a good outline. Ive only tried two of these. The Revo and and Jacobi black. Revo was a tin can and jacoby felt absolutely silent and solid. Can’t speak for the others
For example, a phenolic tip is like top of the list on hardness. Sounds like you’re smashing two balls together. A Kumui soft tips is going to sound like leather.
Oh, it matters for sure. I'm using a medium tip and Radial pin on all of the shafts. I've also used the same speed (pretty much), with the cue ball and microphone on the same spot(s) every shot. Not saying the test is perfect, but it's an indicator.
I like the fact that you say that the sound doesn't mean that one sound is better than the other. I have played with various carbon fiber shafts from Jacoby, Predator, Cuetec, Whyte Carbon, & Mezz Ignite which I have been using the longest. I am more interested in how the shafts perform for me. Your video on Jeffery de Luna was very interesting. When he comes to Buffalos on Bloomfield in May, I will talk with him some more.

The sound file for the Cuetec was broken :/ I'd place them in between Revo (high pitch) and the rest of the pack.
just purchased jflowers and it sound mire like the predator revo.
Did you see the sound test I did on different carbon fiber shafts? The JFlowers has one of the lowest pitched sounds, the Revo one of the highest.
Where was your control shaft that these were tested against?
They (the sound) were tested against each other. Measuring high/low pitch levels from the hit.
@@CueListings …Testing them against one another is not the best methodology here. People want to know how it compares to wood. You could have set up a control group of at least two but more like three wooden shafts to set a baseline shaft from which to compare. Say a McDermott a Predator and a custom, like a Black Boar or Shone or Josey.
This would have made your testing more valuable to the audience.

Their sound is high pitched. Annoying. No, the Revo shafts are nowhere near the best shafts.There are far better options out there.

It's a difficult to give a conclusive answer to. I'll do my best:
Best price: JFlowers. You get a full cue with a Radial pin CF shaft.
Best sound: JFlowers, Go Customs, Jacoby
Best feel: JFlowers, Jacoby
Best overall: JFlowers, with Jacoby at a close second place.
Most deflection: XLR8 and Revo
Highest pitched sound: Revo
@@CueListings so the revo is not that great. I thought it didnt had that much deflection. I self have a cuetec shaft 11.8 and im happy about it. Btw, what do you think of the cuetec meteor break. Im cue? Im thinking about to buy that on because its not to expensive

I know what you are trying to say, but a lot goes into the foam they use and other factors. This varies a lot and hence the sound is very different from shaft to shaft.
Lol the best CF shaft out hands down is the Viking Siege not even on this list
