New sub here,gold hog has great maIn the latets and equipment. I have that same sluice with the power pig just need a pump for it lol. That sluice is a great river sluice i just dont get the flow needed most of the time here in N.C. In the late winter and spring i can usually get enough flow to run it. Most of the time i use my RPE or my 6x24 mini mat sluice.
Right on, much appreciated! I have been very happy with it but thinking on maybe something a bit lighter for my hike in trips. I got a backpack sluice, but it is not good at catching the fly poop here and is constantly plugging up. I'll be looking forward to seeing some of your upcoming adventures!
@@DoggoneGold I like the RPE for my hiking sluice its super light and catches the fines quite well,im looking for a used original Angus Mckirk AU trap.
both shoveling material from different spots into the trap, how do you know when there is gols which spot to concentrate on? maybe load 5 gal buckets , can feed each spot's material
We tend to get fly poop pretty much everywhere on that creek, but that's a good point for sure. Just trying for volume I guess. I've been doing so much better on capture rate classifying buckets and running the dirt at home with jet dry and a more consistent flow.
Mostly, all I find here in the Olympics is fly poop with an occasional bigger piece now and then. I've been venturing into the cascades recently in search of bigger gold. Come over for a visit! 😀

You can't run mechanical or motorized equipment. You are not supposed to dig in the wetted perimeter based on the timing restrictions of each individual water way. You can discharge sediment from your sluice box. You just can't physically dig or alter the water way. They have really made the rules hard to follow and word it to stop or discourage people into thinking it's all off limits. Definitely get into it as we need every single person we can to keep it alive and share with our younger generations so they have a chance in the future.

Your camera sucks bud! It's time for a new one! Im curious can anyone simply walk into the woods in washington and start panning for gold? I mean besides the obvious private property and state land areas i imagine is off limits. Im wondering because im moving to Washington next spring. Im used to ginsing hunting here in Pennsylvania so gold prospecting sounds like a good way to get out in the woods and maybe make a little coin at the same time!
Thanks for the input. Filmed with a go pro and my cell phone. Go pro has never been that impressive, but I'm not great with settings. You can prospect in any national forest, just not the parks, as long as you have the rules on you. I love to scout the land while out hunting. It's expensive here on the west side of the state but definitely beautiful.
