The best info I have found! We have an empty property attached and there are definitely house mice coming over. Having caught half a dozen, we are trying to find their entry points, but it is good to know that the owner of the empty property has a responsibility too.
And, having lived in London, we had both types in our flat. The field-mice came in from the back where the tube-track ran, the house-mice were in the walls of the building. House mice are very difficult to deal with if you don't control the whole building, the field-mice will leave when the weather picks up, they don't live in buildings, but the house-mice never leave and they breed like crazy, if you spot one in your kitchen, good chance there's fifty behind
Ive caught 4 in my flat in the past 2 weeks. 1 or 2 I'm fine with, they're just wee harmless things, catch them and release them away from the house... but catching 4 has me worried I have a nest in my walls.
