- Even though there's a murder every other day in Mystic Falls, the recent Founder's Council member deaths remind Damon of a similar crime spree 100 years ago. Despite Liz explicitly telling him to stay out of the investigation, Damon tries to figure out what might have happened back in 1912, which reminds him of the mysterious, old vampire, Sage, who taught him how to enjoy life as a vampire. He also remembers when he passed Sage's advice onto Stefan, which may or may not have caused him to become the Ripper of Monterey. Meanwhile, Rebekah starts to very unsubtly look for records on the last white oak tree to figure out if there are any more weapons that can be used against the Originals. Elsewhere, Elena and Matt try to prove that Meredith is the serial killer by breaking into her apartment to investigate.

Thoughts on Damon forcing Stefan to drink from the girl outside the grill:
Damon honestly believes this is what's best for Stefan. Damon believes this is healthy, normal vampire behavior and that he can teach Stefan moderation.
Later, when Elena is turned to a vampire, he thinks that blood from the vein is so much better for Elena than a bloodbag. Which shows consistency that he thinks this is best for vampires.
You guys should do an episode on all the jewelry! The Gilbert rings, the daylight rings, elena/Rebekah necklace, Emily's talisman, and the other witch talismans. It would be fun to go over all the pieces and maybe even do a tierlist of like would you wear it or how noticeable it is. Just a fun idea! Love the pod. Girls, I don't know about you, but I really liked the scene where Sage knocks out a man - a boxer in the ring) it was so funny
This is really not important at all, but I think Stefan could have crossed paths with Jonathan. (Though I don’t remember if there are relevant plot details l’m completely forgetting.) If Jonathan was about 30, then he probably dįéd in his 70s, which isn’t that old, even for back in the day.
You could still live into your 90s, but it depended on a number of things. Like some colonist in Mystic Falls? Probably not the longest lifespan. But for a while, the older you got, the older you would probably live. One was super vulnerable as a baby and child which brought average lifespans down.
Then once you reached maybe your 50s, you were again at risk. If you got past that, you might live into your 60s or 70s, possibly even older. Especially for some dude who didn’t give birth. That also dragged down lifespans. -_- So it seems possible that Stefan would meet Jonathan in the years before his demise. Presumably Stefan would be a teen or kid. Of course, last time they crossed paths, Stefan et him!
Note this is not a criticism lol. And if anyone has different info they can correct me. I was just thinking about this recently so thought I’d share. XD
