Yeah, unfortunately work is going to slow down for a while now. I'm still going to see if I can get some smaller things finished around here while I rest my shoulder. I think the spiders under the house were probably getting used to me being around.
Yeah. Since I was going in between two existing piers (about 6 foot apart) I didn't do anything except dig down to compact earth and put in a precast footer. It has been way better since putting it in, and it hasn't shifted since. While not the most official way to support a beam, it's better than leaving the load of the wall above unsupported.
yikes...you are a start... that means you must not do such activities that will take form your real money-making work...my daughter will not let her husband play basketball his job is very intensive physically so she like... nope....we not doing that ....husband bread winner * he has sprang his ankle before)
Wow, hey there fellow Schmidt, nice to see us Schmidts working, just found this video, nice work.
Bless your heart ❤️
Nice work. My first home and I have to level my home my self.
You can do it. It's tough, but if you go slow and read up on it before you get started you can definitely get it done
Sorry to hear about the injury. I was wondering what happen.
Speedy recovery my friend!
Working in that space was probably a ton of fun. :)

I bought a 122yr old house and it needs piers underneath. Pier and beam foundation. Was that just a regular footer for like a porch?

@@Jay_Schmidt thank you for the quick reply!
I need to do the same damn thing with my house. Is yours on a full pier foundation or is there block on the perimeter?
There is a shallow footer around the perimeter on mine. It's really not much of a foot, but better than nothing I suppose.
Was that treated or untreated wood?
Everything I used under the house was treated 👍🏻

why are you wearing that mask?
The dust under the house is very fine. All that crawling kicks up a ton of dust that gives an annoying cough
