Jonas is actually very lucky to only be 3 minutes behind Pogi at this stage in the race…he would be 5+ minutes back if it weren’t for some very fortunate wheels appearing at critical moments in this TDF and VLB are lucky to have that stage win. They could easily be going home with nothing…💛🇫🇷

@@1thiago4 Leave it to one of the Jonas fanboyz to confuse a simple statement of facts with belittling…so to be clear, I think Jonas has been valiant in his defense of his TDF titles against impossible odds having come back from such a horrible crash only three short months ago to face one of the strongest performances in history with such fierce determination. He has earned my utmost respect.
The fact remains that he is lucky to be as close as he is to Pogi at this point in the race and to have taken a stage win off Tadej in this TDF. This may trigger your little fee fees, but you’ll just have to suck it up and live with it. Better luck next year!
Johan is the greatest-super insight, clear and well thought out explanations-can listen to him as long as he talks. No bs from him.
The attack was the old shake and bake. He attacked to soften Jonas up for Remco.
My take for a short few days is he's schooling one who hurt him last year, and enjoying a mischievous collaboration with the other. Love this.

On a flipside, Jonas might think that today's stage, the advantage is only few seconds here and there. He didn't bother to chase Remco/Tadej because it's not long enough climb for him. The gradient also suits Tadej/Remco. I still not convinced "yet" that Remco will drop Jonas on Fri/Sat. Jonas is no.1 fatique resistance rider in the world. That's is his super power. I think VL will do a Hail Mary in Fri or Sat. That would be a big test for Remco. VL will ride super hard, we'll see body lying everywhere. So far, my bet is still with Jonas over Remco.
In hindsight, no one in peloton like Lance. On the other hand, Pogacar seems like by the peloton. With his entourages, flying jets, sponsors and his winning etc, people were jealous at Lance. Pogacar doesn't have the same thing as Lance. in fact, what Pogacar did today... is fun to watch. It's not neccesary... but hey let's the guy enjoy racing. He knows the consequences of burning unnecessary energy.
I have a feeling… that last year Jonas had him on a rope. In a way kinda humiliated him. Now he was just having a great time to payback Jonas, by toying with him. I would see Tadej will attack again even though it's not necessary. But he will do it, because he can.

With Remco attacking Jonas, Pogi can just sit back and suck Jonas’s wheel. That’s the smart move.
Pogacar wants to give back the 7 minutes from the last tour. 😅 He doesn't need this.
In the shape that Jonas is in, he should give him 20 minutes.

He did a top 10 in GC when i was a kid. Think 8th. He actually had dropped out of the top 10, but then came back in a stage when he went in the break. You can check procyclingstats for his results.

@@didiermartin9386 I was nearly correct. He was indeed in the top 10, then dropped out, came back in a breakaway stage and was 8th in GC. But i forgot there was a TT on the penultimate stage, where he was able to overtake Andy Hampsten in GC, so he finished 7th in GC.
If you watch footage from last year TDF, Jonas is a shadow of himself. The advantage that Remco and Poggie have on him now will not happen again.

there is no way he can be 100% with that crash healing and limited training time ,suprised he is so strong considering all things but unless Tadej blows up this year he has no chance to get 1st place
@@tollph3314 Exactly, and he should not be able to win. That would not be a good look for the sport. I hope next year all the guys come back to the tour, all healty and ready to go. I bet Jonas will be a different person. Like Don said, he is a shadow of himself. I also looked up the stages from last year, cause everytime i saw Joans on his bike he looks so stiff and it seems way over the limit. You did not saw this the last years.
@@heidewatzka He smashed Panatni record by almost 3 minutes on stage 15 final climb and pogacar by 4 minutes look if they are doping be it if u are hinting about "good" look cuz numbers they do its already isane remco inclooded even Landa was 10sec slower than Pantani sure bike tech and so on changed a lot and helped for sure significantly,Jonas has to have great recovery proccess cuz for example WVA since his crash is not even close to WVA past 2years while Jonas so far slapping everyone by huge margins at this tour outside Pogačar Remčo still 2 minutes behind and we will see if that gap will grow or opposite but Jonas watts/kg and form is insane considering everything its incredible lets be real he still spanking every other GC rider and i though he might not be even riding TDF and if he will it will be just for stage wins maybe or possible top 5 but he is way better than expected by most
@@heidewatzka he is lacking that top for sure i honestly believe if he did not crash Pogačar would not gap him for more than maybe 10-30 sec in that stage 15 if at all it would be more of explosivness gap cuz he is way more punchy than Jonas was even at his peak last year for example,Pogačar did change training proccess which i think already works for him better and he is only 25 Jonas 27 so Pog is reaching his peak just right now i would say its the age he is in form of his life right now that is for sure but i still think healthy Jonas with strong Jumbo team even this year would beat him or it would be extremely close and not 3 minutes as of now.But its not over we have 2 big mountain stages tomorrow and saturday and TT ,Remčo iterests me too he is doing better than i expected shame Roglič crashed again and had to go home :/ I think Cycling is most entertaining since we had Sky robotic train now we have action in almost every other stages and where Evenepoel Pog or Ving is racing there is usually action so i think its good for cycling overall . The masseur from Ineos Grenadiers, Marko Dzalo, told the Slovenian media that they got the data from Jonas' training before the TdF and the numbers were better than last year. Yes, better than last year. Tadej's numbers this year are fantastic... Johan Bruyneel also talked about them. So can someone tell me wtf Armstrong, Hincapie and Wiggens (he doesn't deserve to be called "Sir") are talking about? They keep hitting and pouding down on Pogi. WHY? Why all that hatred against him? Real cycling fans are not stupid and they know that two old school american doped cyclists are just BS. They just can't accept the fact that they are probably watching the GOAT of cycling-TADEJ POGACAR. I guess that hurts Armstrong & Co.

Only because the numbers are good, does not translate, that he could not even be better. Jonas was way better of the beginning of the season as he has before. And those guys here do not hate him. They praise him all the time.
Remco could decimate Jonas in the last time trial but he really doesnt care whether its 2nd or 3rd.Jonas gets a pass this time.Next year may be different.
Tadej and Remco conspired against Jonas. Tadej attacked and made Jonas work hard to respond just to reveal that he was tired and then Remco attacked him.
Looking for this attacks from POGY vs VING, I think there's 2 major issues with Jonas: 01. Using only 1 chainring he will have a worse gear ratio; 02. Jonas is too light for downhill. Need every time a teammate to help to close the gap.
The downhill problem will be fixed at some point, he is normaly a good decender. Btw Remco looses much more in the downhills.

I think you guys are over thinking what happened to Jonas. To be honest I don't think Jonas cared to follow Remco. His mission is and always will be Pogi. Just my two cents.

At this point, Visma must be hoping for a real massive blunder by Pog in terms of missing some nutrition or hydration on Stages 19 and 20 to allow Jonas to gain back the time difference.
Unfortunately Jonas won’t even finish this race on the podium.He will blow up in the upcoming mountain stages because of the lack in his preparation.🥵
@matlindell5022 - He would have to lose an awful lot of time to not be on the podium. Almeida, who is in 4th, is currently 9 minutes behind Jonas. Jonas could fall behind Evenepoel, but not Almeida.
I do not believe that he has huge advantage on others even on Remčo 2 minutes and so far Remčo never showed on longer climbs he has potential to be better ,we will see though.
Its a valid possibility. If he cracks i think he cracks badly. In nearly every stage, beside Stage 11, Jonas lost time in the later parts of the climbs. Even in the time trail he lost significant more time in the last part. So his indurance is not there were it was before. And in the next stages, combined with the fatigue and the lack of preperation, could be a huge problem.

Um. I talk fir all of 5 min on a typical 30-40 min show with Johan. By design.
I don´t think Remco is capable of taking that amount of time on Jonas, so he can be second. No way, i see this happens? What we saw today, was Jonas and Tadej on each other, and Remco took advantage of that (of course). On a 1/1 long climb, Remco wouldn´t be able to follow Jonas. But let´s see, in two days time and the stage on Saturday. It´s gonna be a firework, i´m sure. Cheers from Denmark
I think you’re gonna be surprised. Jonas is hurting which shouldn’t be a surprise. That TT is gonna be critical
He lost two seconda but he is in top shape than JV. So JV had to manage to reqch Pogi so that can be worst to JV than Pogi
The plan for Visma was always try for 1st if possible, but race for second. Always always. That’s why Jonas at stage 3ish makes the quote “I thought I would be 2 min back”. When you race for first you don’t plan to be 2 min behind pogi. There is no plan to make it back. How you gonna gain 2 min on pogi? Nope it was always do as best you can for second and maybe something happens to pogi. Even when Jonas pulled TP for 5km. Why did he do that? To gain time on remco. Not to drop TP. He can’t drop him, he’s already been smoked 3 times by him by then. Jonas is legit and makes very little mistakes. Look back on all the racing. It’s, “go for second and hope for first”.
They were expecting to be able to take minutes on Pogacar on stage 15 and neither the team or Jonas was strong enough
no strategy expects to take minutes in that situation. You are talking about a Jonas on “unknown form” after 14 stages taking 2-5 minutes out of pogi, the strongest rider in the world. Who (by their own admission) would be in the yellow at the time)And 5 climbers from UAE including Yates and solair. No one will take minutes. He said 2 or more. They were hoping, maybe, but that is no plan for the yellow Jersey and winning the tour. Jonas out performed my expectations for sure. Would like to see him 100% with kuss and 100% of Visma riding. But the writing was on the wall. The plan was “race for second and hope for first. “ makes total sense. Jonas did not make a mistake on those stages. Jonas rarely makes mistakes and will make you pay you if you make mistakes against him as we saw outsprinting a bonked TP. He’s putting time into remco.
