    Could you make a video to show how to set & test the stepper? Thanks!

    Thank you for properly explaining this! There's a lot of bad information out there. Any chance you'd be willing to share your plans for the adaptor you made?

    Thanks, this was well done 🤠. Even I can understand it. Good job 👍

      Thanks I didn't understand it at first so when i got it worked out I wanted to share. Glad you liked it. As it gets warm I will try to get some new stuff out.

      @@wjones1972 I might borrow some of your ideas for a video for my viewers if you don't mind, but I will be sure to tag you if I do. Mine will be megasquirt related.

    Hey! I'm running a speeduino on my turbo setup as well with the exact same iac motor. Just using the cb performance machined block as the housing. Mine doesn't seem to do anything to help cranking, even with the steps at 70 or 80 during cranking and I have it set to idle at 1300 cold and work it's way down to 1000 at op temp. When im starting the car tho, i have to crack the throttle for it to start up cleanly. But when the car starts it idles at like 700 rpm then after 5-10s will jump up to the 1300. It's like the crank settings won't work and the run setting doesn't kick in til a few seconds after startup. Any idea what could cause that? My home steps are 249 and don't exceed 200 I believe.

    Thanks for the video! Just one question. How do I get the Step Time (ms) ? Is there any experimental way if I don't find literature for my stepper motor?

    • @wjones1972
      @wjones1972  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad it helped. To get your step time you can turn it down until you get missed steps. So for example with my engine warm I only need about 5 to 7 steps for 1000rpm but if it is missing steps it will go up to say 50 and still be idling slowly. So if it doesn't feel like it's responding correctly it could be missing steps. and the error tends to get bigger over time. Most of the time 3 or 4 ms is fine. but you can start higher and work your way down the only downfall to a large number is a slower responding valve.

      @@wjones1972 first of all, thanks very much for your almost instant response!
      so.. let me check if I got it.
      you are saying that once your engine is warm it needs 5 to 7 steps from the fully closed valve position. So, if by that time you change the step time to for example 1 ms (which is not big enough to make a move) and change "motor steps" to 50 (instead of 5-7) it won't make any difference. That means your step time is too low. Did I get it right?

      @@andrespareradeniz9797 Kind of yes don't focus on the number exactly. but if its missing steps it will count up or down depending on your valve config without changing idle much. but i think you have the idea when it is trying to correct the engine speed if the steps are to short the commanded steps will change without the valve changing much. I think the main concept to keep in mind is it doesnt know where the actual valve position is it tries to know where it is by keeping track of the steps it commands so if its missing steps the valve will be in a very different position from what it expects or shows.

    Hey man do you know how to wire up a iacv for a 4g63 engine? I have a UA4C vc2 speeduino board which has a built in stepper motor driver, I currently have a 6 pin iacv on my throttle body and 2 middle wires are 12v (which are now cut off, since speeduino will be providing the power for the iacv)
    this is pretty munch the pinout for the iacv pins based on the DSM ecu pinout:
    A1 - 12v - A2
    B2 - 12v - B1

      I currently have them wired up like this and when I turn ign on I could hear the iacv vibrating for a bit then turning off, like its calibrating on the stock ecu it does that too
      I have it wired like this
      Speeduino board ---> IACV pins
      A2--->A1 A1---->A2
      B2---->B2 B1---->B1

    Hello! I want set up eletronic pedal in speeduino, but the pedal has 6 wires and 2 wires are for signal and the speeduino has only one pin for signal, it is the 22th pin
    How to proceed?

    • @wjones1972
      @wjones1972  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am not sure what you mean by electronic pedal if your talking about drive by wire speeduino doesn't support that yet.
