Really does astound me how a car like that can be so flippantly thrown away when there was pretty much nothing wrong with it! Insurance companies have a big part to play in that, it really needs addressing especially at a time when we're all being told to be more green and waste less!
I completely agree Mr Black.
It does seem like a conspiracy to get rid of the motor car, globally. Such a waste of energy (put into building cars, to then scrap them).
Now I know where I recognise you from🤣 was a pleasure loading the Aston onto your truck 😅🤣
Bath 2007. Hired a Audi station wagon & stopped at a guest hostel for the first night. I didn't know how wide it was, and leant it against a traffic sign for the night!.
Fun fact the services you stopped in for breakfast and a coffee the new enterance, the whsmiths and the chosen noodle place i put the ceilings up
hi kev thave a fab new wk have a good one bye from norwich thank you
Amazing to see loads of Volvo Trucks at Trent in Rugby
I love watching the forklift trucks. They are so cute and I'm amazed how they are driven.
OMG, I can't believe that you had a DB9 on your Scania. Your collection load's are always interesting each time you head out on the road. I wonder what you will pick up next??
I could not work out why the DB9 was there when it first arrived, it looked perfect, all makes sense now + I can't believe I didn't spot you, 😕was probably there at the time and would have loved to say hello. All the very best and keep up the good work! 🙂
A very good Monday evening to you all from Wellington Somerset
See what Trent are doing hub and spoke principal. No more tight lanes for you or one offs in the trailer, smart move $$$ savings.
Easily one of the best! Great content, some moody camerawork and nice pace!!! CHHHEEEEERRRRRSSSSS!!
What ! its Criminal breaking A DB9 !! Agree with Mr Black. Great Vlog Kev as always ,makes a nice change to see you further a field. Is the yard in Rugby more for Insurance salvage? Stay safe Kev👍🏻
Hi keV tee have you ever thought about bringing your own merch out ie t shirts or hooded tops with your own project cars printed on them
I used to collect cars for a salvage company its heart breaking seing some great cars get broken up
Cracking video as always Kev, interesting to see the Volvos at Rugby and not Scania! Are the trucks sourced separately! Lovely DB9 seems such a waste! Keep up the good work and keep safe 😀🚛
Exploding battery
Another great video has always kev
Kev can you talk to your boss saying can we swap our Renault trucks for the Volvo trucks in rugby and that will make your day happy Kev tee
Great vlog, that old coach at Rugby looked interesting. Do you know what it is?
Great video Kev DB9 god yes please
Aston 🎊🎉🎊🕺🎊🕺 Martin. I drive years with that damage inside 🤣😂
I hope you make the DB9 your next car to fix up now that would make a great video
Did anyone else notice the original Shape Nissan Micra in the Oxford yard
the PRIUS wheels are standard, they normally have a plastic hub cap over the top
look at the mortor cycles
That Aston's a crying shame. I'd have thought that AM's factory support would have it rebuilt for much less that what must have been paid out by the insurers.
It is a shame, it would make am excellent track car too.
However, Aston Martin charge a million pound a minute just to look at it, which is probably why its ended up where it is.
Tragic.
@@samstergti9812 Even then, if someone just hangs onto it until the interior could be salvaged out of an Aston thats actually been wrecked eventually
Enjoyed watching this you have a new sub
Welcome Guttersnipe, enjoy your stay 🤙
I bet you can fix the db9 with volvo parts they use volvo modules. For instance the navigation and instrument cluster chime is same as my xc90
Great video kevtee
See Matt Armstrong . He has just rebuilt a DB9 on You Tube from a wreck .
Why would it be cat B and not S or N so it can re repaired with a cheaper interior than stock?
Aston Martin 😢nothing there that can’t be fixed even by a DIY’er and upholsterers insurance companies are taking the p-s no wonder our premiums are so high ,nice one for you Kev to do up if you can buy it weekly very weakly 😂keep them coming great 👍👨🏻🏭
ive not worked this out yet does kev tee, own the scrap yard and the trucks .
Rugby is huge
Is that a blue Bentley convertible next to the Merc at Rugby depo
I like the video kev
Cat B? Wtf? Has battery acid seeped mysteriously into the chassis leg? Or did one tiny scorchio of fire cause that? 😳
DB9 007 oh ya.
I was wondering where i had parked my DB9 after a particularly heavy night out ...
Great video, quick question when the clocks go back and we lose an hour how does that affect the taco, would you have to wait another hour if on 9 hours rest.
Well, it's probably stuffed now after forklifting it onto the truck, many a DB9 substantially damaged by simply jacking it in the wrong place let alone forklifting it!! There are only 4 small points on the car where it can be lifted and its unlikely the forklift lifted the car at those points, it could even be a write off
It's already written off as a category B never to go back on the road, parts only, hence the use of forklift 🤦
Aston Martin DB9. Had to move (drive) one a few years ago. Not impressed! They have the name, but really need to do some work on the car!
I would much rather a Citroen C3 or C4 Picasso with funky electrics than a Nissan Puke, at least the rear seat passengers don't feel like they had a round with Mike Tyson because you hit a speed hump, sorry I mean a pothole!! haha, 95% of the time I would much rather drive than being in the back of the Puke. although I am 6 foot 3, so keep headbutting the rear pillar or roof, not to mention the lack of leg room behind another tall person. there I was thinking my parents would check the problems with the back seat before buying a car. like it was first thing I check on all my cars since 2011 reg, is can I sit in an upright but sensible driving position, then jump into the back seat and check if I can sit without having to amputate my legs to fit in, as space when you got dry knees is another problem I have had to face all my life.
if batteries are as leathal as the old lead-acid batteries were, then cost a fair wack to get the DB9 back on the road, as the seats wouldn't be able to be used again unless totally treated to neutralize the lithium straight after the battery exploded or whatever. then got to treat the bodywork, and the carpets, no be too expensive to repair, and why the insurance written the car off in the first place, as far safer. but a stupid place to put a battery is under a seat that someone could have been sat in, especially when cars do a good (70) mph, can be extremely harmful for the passenger. I don't think the DB9 should be a car put into the restore garage by any means. especially as replacing the leather seats would be so hard to come by even if you did take up the challenge.
Why was all the lather taken off and what was wrong with it ?
Just did a quick mot check on the DB9 it's only done around 12k miles 😔
hi kev what is wrong with the db9 it looks perfect
Done 12,000 miles, worth about £70,000 if it was were in good condition, I wonder what the scrape value of it is?
i PAID £280 my for my E38 740i , mot fail on 1 sill and a shocker all done in 3 days retest passed and ive had it 4 years now passes every year my baby bentley .
that's a crying shame about the Aston doesn't look it would take mega bucks to see it back on the road,it would be interesting to know what happened with the battery ? if I was the owner I would contact Aston.
Aren’t Astons just bits of jaguar, ford, Volvo and other makers parts bin specials 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
That DB9 should be saved. A shame...🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I wouldn't be surprised if the db9 needs a few 1000 pounds spent on it but because dealers/big repair shops try to rip insurance off they quote 10s of thousands and then this is the outcome
hey KEV when is the next vlog
Cars get more like kettles and toasters.just throw away.
Kev, why is the AM DB9 a breaker any idea?
He said it was a fire from the battery which is under the back seat which damaged the interior.
Why would anyone scrap a Aston beyond belief , if u have some old Mercedes cars then I be interested rather than scraping history
Yes!
I just want to know how much Kev earns a year 😅
not enough for the 'free' PR for Trents!!! :-)
What a shame, I know it will cost thousands to repair, but the car is tens of thousands. Call salvage rebuilds.
they will fix it up for about 1500.....Chris will replace the headlining and Rob will get a new set of seats....!!!
I passed a fully loaded Trent Scania on the M3 Southampton! Hope you saw me LN58 *** ford focus
That car is easily repairable. So why would it be discarded by the Insurance company and the owner, who could have bought it back and had it repaired or even sold it to a company such as Salvage Rebuilds in Kent. I am gob smacked.
It's a category B, can't be sold or put back on the road, so Salvage Rebuilds would only be able to break it, exactly the same as us.
@@KevTee I understand that Kev and missed that in your video. However why was it made a cat B as a cat B write off is the following:- Category B write-offs have suffered severe damage that can’t be repaired. The remains of the car can be stripped for parts for use on other vehicles, but the chassis and/or body shell must be scrapped because this may have suffered serious or irreparable damage. Now as far as I can see that does not fit the criteria being a battery problem, although we cannot see the chassis which may well have acid damage. I just think it's a shame, that's all to have a cat B on a motor that looks repairable. The cost of repair would probably be in the region of £10k but the car would sell for anything up to £80k.
Great video Kev. It would have been better though if you'd started it in daylight - the first 3 minutes were a bit unnecessary.
The DB9 could of easily be fixed typical insurance written if off just utter lazyness tbh waste of a good car!!
im someone could source a new interior for it maybe expensive but
Interior costs more than the car is worth.
You wont source one either.
@@samstergti9812 I don't think so thats a 30k car then the government want us to go greener stripping a perfectly good car isn't its my opinion
