Hi George, I don't have a gin basket for this still, so as the saying goes off your only tool is a hammer... I have heard that hard botanicals are better macerated, and softer ones infused, but I have no proof either way.

For a better result with the rose petrels, vapour infuse them instead of macerate, great video
