I have a Hayward Power Flo Matrix, I live in Buffalo Ny. It's about 12 years old, I've replaced the seals about 5 years ago, this year it started to sound bad so I took it apart and replaced the bearings and since I had it apart I removed as much rust and crud as possible and replaced the seals again, just because it was apart.
The long bolts that hold it together were very rusty and weak so I replaced them as well. If I get another 5 years or more out of it I'd consider it a win.

Pentair superflo 1.5 hp 2 yrs old starts and runs with obvious high load low rps kicks breaker nothing in impeller and shaft turns freely UN bolted motor and it spooled up for 4 seconds then bogs down kicking breaker it has never spooled up after even when primed only ran for 4 seconds what causes this. It still just starts and runs slow and kicks breaker how can a motor be burnt after 2 yrs. Motor always was hot to touch from new.

john metyk Either a bad capacitor or inadequate power supply is my guess.

You were correct even though everyone I called said if it starts it's not a capacitor. Changed capacitor and perfecto. Hell Pinch a Penny Pools a large chain in Florida said we don't change capacitors we just change whole motor for 400.00 dollars more like pinch a loaf. Thanks for advice 60 bucks and Venice pump and motor even did seals to.
