I came across an air-mail letter from my husband dated June 1961 in which he asked me 'to listen to this song by Ron Holden'. Such a comfort. Loved listening to it again.

I was born in 1951 in Pico, California. SE Los Angels County. I think I really became aware of the magic of music after hearing this song. I heard it often and loved it. I was just a kid. But it brings memories of my surroundings. It was a good time to grow up where I did.

I was soooooo lucky to have been born right in the middle of the doo wop and rock n roll era in Nov 1961, there will never be anymore Elvis, Chuck Berry, little Richard no matter how many try to copy them, never will we here Franky Lymon and the Teenagers the Cadillacs the Moon Glows or the Penguins or hundreds of them who changed music at that time, music that will be here long after we are all gone.

louis young isn't this great, just rock and roll at its purest and most natural. This song is just raw soul from start to finish. It's a shame a talent as apparent as Ron Holden couldn't follow this up with another hit.

This song was being recorded in a home recording studio only two blocks from where I was going to junior high school and I never even knew it until years later even though I was a huge fan of the song and of all the pop music of the day. I always knew it came out of Seattle but had no idea it had happened right under my nose. I would have so excited as 14 year old to watch this record's beginning. Just love it.

This is one of the most wondrously backwoods records ever made. And, improbably enough, it was so endearing (to more than just me) that it bopped its way to #7 on Billboard's Hot 100 in 1960. It is records like this diamond in the rough that are the reason why I love Rock and Roll music so much.

Great song for throwback Thursday. From the early 60s. I remember hearing it on the radio in Cleveland as a VERY young child. Great cha cha beat. Would have been fun to dance to.

Just after a few seconds listening to this song & I'm deeply in love with this song. I checked the guitar chord & very simple D Bm Em A rounded chord. Well.... now I'm going to play & sing this song with my guitar.

My Dad used to sit out side Jack in the Box on his lunch break with Mr Holden
Singing this before it was a hit. He told my dad one day it would be a hit and it was. It was an incredible how Holden got started
