I love Mayan Stelae. They are fantastic pieces of art. And instead of gracefully walking up the staircase, I'd probably fall down it.

The Mayan culture is fascinating and Copan and Tikal have been on my wish list for a long time. What one doesn't truly appreciate from photos is just how steep Mayan stairs are. So steep, and the steps so narrow, that I scrambled down the stairs of the Pyramid of the Magician at Uxmal on my backside for fear of falling off!

If the silly Christmas craze works as an excuse for you to put out fun and educational videos, I'm all for it.

100% agree that stairs are cool and super interesting! Like, I legit can't think of a film scene that'd be worthy of a staircase of the magnitude of splendour as the hieroglyphic one you showed even in it's current state. You've knocked it outta the park with the first half of this series and I can't wait to see the next half!!

Busy day! BUT I did not neglect to get my Dig It With Raven fix! At the end of this video, I had an image of you, Raven...with a brush...gently progressing down...forty meters.

Fancy staircases are awesome XD. And this is definitely a place I’d love to visit! Look at those carvings! Imagine how long this place took to build.

Hi! Love the channel and this ADVENTure.
I'm currently a college sophomore studying history, with a current plan to get certified to teach secondary ed.
If I wanted to veer and pursue archaeology, what would be a logical step? Or perhaps would teaching history be a valuable experiance for a while before changing history career paths. I'd also like to hear what you did in my life stage to get where u are. Sry ik its a lot of words!!!

I saw Copan in 1964. I climbed the hieroglyphic stairs on the pyramid because nobody said I couldn't.
