  • Is the AGFRC GY01 gyro good enough for RC drifting?
    In this video, I install, test, and review this rc gyro to see if their claims that it is a competition drift gyro are really valid!
    If so, this $35 gyro can save you some $$$ compared to the competition.

    Great review Troy, it looks like they have ripped off onisiki's gyro design and put cheap internals in it. I wouldn't say it's not for drifting, it's more of a drivers gyro. The problem with the expensive gyros is they make it too easy. It's great for competition drifting that the gyro is making it easy or if your one of those guys that thinks driving in a train of cars is drifting, but if you want to still feel like your doing something then a cheaper gyro is a great way to do that. You can learn car and throttle control from having a cheaper gyro, but like you said it's not the greatest value and it has limits.

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting take on it!
      I 100% would prefer a more quality gyro, but with the gain turned down vs a gyro like this one.
      The wobble, the inconsistency - go with a quality gyro and tune it for your driving style.

    Good morning my friend! I have two questions...the first is why did you put the gyro gain control connector on channel 6 instead of channel 3? The second question is what is S.BUS? why be?

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello!
      I used Channel 6 on this controller because it was connected to the knob on the controller. This is what gave me the ability to control the gyro gain incrementally. The other channels for this controller are just on/off buttons. This would not control the gain appropriately.
      SBUS is a communication tool, mostly on Futaba radios. It allows you more control over your gyro (sometimes even ESC) via the controller. It is a nice feature, but not necessary.

    • @PXCURSOS
      @PXCURSOS 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Still can't believe you haven't checked out the Power HD G1 gyro. It's easily on par with the Yoko V4, some like it better. It is easy to find for under $50 and is even available in a combo with the very good D15 servo for around $100.
    I recently setup a G1 gyro and Power HD R12s servo in an old Sakura D4 chassis. The D4 lacks steering angle and has an odd weight balance which makes it a very difficult chassis to tame, this setup ran like a dream. I was able to program the R12s servo to take out all of the shake without sacrificing control. I can run 100% gyro gain with no shake at all, it doesn't lack sensitivity either, on 100% the car is almost undrivable because you have to hold 100% steering to get the car to transition. I've also tested a yoko V4/SP-02D v2 as well as a GYD450/R12s setup in this car. The G1/r12S setup gave me the best feeling and the least amount of shake. The only setup that feels better than than the G1/R12s is my comp setup which is a GYD550 and PowerHD D15.
    I'm now considering changing my recommendation for newbies. I've always recommended the GYD450/AGFrc A50bhl or the Yoko V4/SPo2d v2. But the fact you can pickup a G1 with a D15 servo for nearly half the price of those combos, add on a programmer for $30 and you have a setup that can easily take you from beginner to tandem competition.
