  • There are A LOT of servos out there that folks use for drifting. A LOT.
I asked folks which they used. The typical recommendations came up - ReveD and Yokomo were really popular... but there were a few that surprised me. Inojra, JX Servo, and KST servo.
The Injora and JX are MUCH cheaper than average:
    - Injora: amzn.to/3WolBnq
    - JX: amzn.to/3pWIX7L
While the KST servo was priced much higher:
    - KST: kstservos.com/collections/low...
The tried and true servo is the ReveD RS-ST: www.avantlink.com/click.php?t...
Especially when paired with the programmer: www.avantlink.com/click.php?t...
*Note: The provided links to the items recommended in this may be associate links. The great news about this: you pay the same price for the item, but I get a small kickback that helps me fund this channel!

Thankyou for taking the time to create these videos, I'm building my first rwd drift car from a chassis kit, and your videos have helped a lot. I can't afford the best of the best so it's been helpful having the facts put on the table then making a decision on what suits my needs. Troy, it’s from your recommendations that I junked the JX in my RMX and went straight for the RS-ST. The reason? Servo shake. No matter what I did, I just couldn’t stop that servo from constantly trying to center and that’s BEFORE I connected my gyro!
Thing is… I’d been searching for speed in servos, not realizing that you also need torque, which both go hand in hand.
Personally, I like the RS-ST. Not the fastest but one of the smoothest for drift. Combine that with the programmer and REVOX and you have a combo that will make you look like a pro out of the box!
Nothing against cheaper servos but the RS-ST is on a whole different level that cheaper servos can’t give you.
To anyone asking, the programmer for the RS-ST is worth it and also updates the servo a bit compared to the settings given to you out of the box.
I might give the Injora a look since I’m rebuilding my old TT-02 RWD drifter.

I use the base $75 Yokomo, the slow speed and top notch seek correction make it stable at 100% gyro for me. I've also used a EcoPower 110T which was questionable on the MST, and an AKG programmable on another car, not a drift car but its a nice functional servo. :D

Nice video...I messaged you in the past and told you that I ran and still run a rtr blue traxxas servo. Wondered if you have tried one yet in a drifter. My setup is with a Futaba radio and gyro. Have never known why it works so well but you said something in your video regarding dampening...this may be why it works so well as this same servo is used in traxxas vehicles with TSM and may have dampening built in for that reason.
