    Happy Saturday Rick and Stacy!!! Prefect timing with coffee in hand, ahhh.... always enjoy the show and it's such a routine!
    My goal is to plant a incrediball hedge along the property line. Can't wait to see them grow and it is going to draw so much attention and will be truly incredible!

    Thank you for the tip! My favorite ever-changing plant is Yesterday-today-tomorrow (Brunfelsia pauciflora). It changes from purple to lavender to white. I just learned, like sweet shrub, it needs to be babied a bit as it doesn’t like to dry out but it also doesn’t want to be soggy. Worth it though for this beautiful and otherwise easy plant!

      I planted one 5 years ago and it had it’s first flower this year!!! Zone 8A eastern NC. We had an incredible bush growing up in South Africa that bloomed ALL SUMMER LONG.

      That is such a beautiful plant! Getting that bloom color change is almost like having multiple plants - so lovely! ☺

    Hello Rick and Stacy! Loved listening to the show today especially the interview you had with Stepanie Walker. This is my first year growing lisianthus in my garden and I planted it in the back so hoping it continues to grow and bloom. Nice seeing you Rick at Weesies this morning and will be looking to find one of those Sweet Summer Love clematis we talked about. Enjoy your weekend.

    Great show! I may just have to start some lisianthus next year. I listened to your advice and trimmed my burning bush not topping it but taking out whole branches. I was very pleased with the results. Not only did it size control but by taking out branches it really gave the plant and more airy quality and let in more filtered light. Love the look and know surrounding plants enjoy the extra light.

    Calycanthus Athens has a fragrance of Fuji apple. Yummy blooming with Michelia banana shrub. My favorite is Osmanthus fragrans with a fragrance of nectarines.

    This spring I downloaded a plant identification app. I discovered that I inherited a dracunculus- vampire plant that also changes scent... My neighbor’s house is on a curve and I previously thought that deer had been hit and died in his yard. I promptly put it on trial and sentenced it the guillotine by shovel. It’s since regenerated 😮. Immortal.

      You can also use Google camera to identify plants.

    My Simply Scentsational is currently fruiting! It’s about the size of a walnut, looks almost like a guava on top but the bottom is dimpled almost like the bottom of an apple. Very unique shape.
    Quite a few were pollinated but the shrub decided to only keep one fruit - probably because it’s still in a 3g nursery can from last year. 😬

    • @pwcolorchoice
      @pwcolorchoice  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The fruit is very unique looking! A nice feature after the lovely tropical-looking blooms! 😀

    Talk about change! I had rhubarb growing out of a crack in my garage. I kept cutting it back to nothing but could not get the roots. So it came back as burdock! I decided to leave that alone bc I like the flowers and use them in small vases. I have calycanthus heritage wine. Raulstonii from North Carolina. Beautiful flowers. But it gets really big. So I am cutting it back every year to train it to be smallish. Beautiful flowers and I got a lot of flowers this late spring even though I massacre it. It grows huge leaves too! Good shrub for shade areas. That’s why I have it!!

    I bought my sweet scentsational simply because the flowers on the tag looked interesting. From a distance, they have kind of wood look to them and a leathery feel. If it is not growing much, you might have to water it some more.

    • @pwcolorchoice
      @pwcolorchoice  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are very interesting flowers! And yes, great tip! Giving them a deep watering, especially while getting established is a good idea!

    Hi friends 😊 I'd like to add note of a flower mentioned. Anemone. I have Honorine Jobert. I have a love/hate with. At first, I loved. How pretty she is in bloom and dances in the wind. But they spread, therefore my feelings change. Constant maintenance.
    Speaking of color changes, and I know are many, but I'm adding in 2 shrubs. The Orange Rocket Barberry and the Kodiak Orange Diervilla. Both are lovely, but as I am in control, I maintain all to my discretion!
    Happy Weekend 💚 🌿🪴

      Agree on Anemone, it definitely doesn’t play nice. Need to put it in a place where you don’t care when it spreads.

      Ugh yes, Anemone is beautiful but can spread quite readily which can be a pain! Great additions! The whole Kodiak series can have such a neat color change throughout the seasons, orange can get so vibrant! 😍☺

    Trying to rid my newly inherited front garden with chameleon plant and it’s horrible both in smell and root growth that I can’t keep up with. I figure it will take me three years and lots of digging, but I refuse to get up.

    I’ve recently planted a PW Let’s Dance Sky View and it was pink when I planted it but I want to turn it purple, so I’ve added aluminum sulfate crystals around the drip line, watered in, covered in mulch. I’ve added a 2nd dose within 4 weeks. NOTHING 😮😢it is still pink. What’s happening? I’m in zone 5b in Hamilton ON 🇨🇦😵‍💫 Love the show ❤

    • @pwcolorchoice
      @pwcolorchoice  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks so much for your question! Typically, for the color change to take place, the acidic/aluminum conditions need to be present when it is setting the flower buds, as well as when they open. So it usually takes about a full year, since the plant will be setting its flower buds for next year starting in late August.

    How do I baby the ‘Simply Sensational Sweet plant’?

    • @pwcolorchoice
      @pwcolorchoice  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! Plenty of water while it is getting established (its first season or two), and a good 2-3" layer of shredded bark mulch will help it get off to its best start!
