Hi KY, havent seen your videos lately. What a coincidence, I've been working part time at a vintage bike shop for the past three months and just did a carb teardown and cleaning on a 85 450 Nighthawk. The carbs were filthy with carbon buildup. The fuel screw was set at 2 5/8 turns out, so appeared to be too rich. Were the jets all the same size between the carbs?
Your sexy Lady Motorcycle is not quiet running like a Rocket yet...she's tapping her freshly painted nails telling you that something within the Carbs are not right...maybe the Main Jets have still got some gunk left in them..New Jets maybe?...The Lady also thanks you for Covering the Hole in the Seat...She appreciates that..lol.....She'll run like a Rocket real soon I'm thinking...
It's too bad that's not a 650 night hawk 1982 I have one I don't have the money to fix it so I am just going get what ever I can out of it another thing I don't have any place to work on it this is my first bike did not what I was going should never have bought it
Do you go up to everyone with a vehicle that isn't the highest trim model and tell them they should have bought the highest trim model? You should work on you etiquette.
“We’re not gonna move that sticker right now.” You’re a riot man, always good laughs.
Thanks for watching!! lol!
I laughed so hard at that... haha
Love it! Your get-in-there and get-after-it attitude is great!
Thanks Karl! This one has been a pain, wish you and Andy were closer to help me out!
Air/fuel mix screw, easiest quickest adjustment. Good looking bike.
Thanks! I have played with that adjustment, but no good results, I must have overlooked something in the carbs, hope to figure it out this week
That bike is a beauty... and you'r right, just move the sticker 😁. Big thanks for excellent entertainment and an interesting video!!
Thanks Tom! This should be a pretty cool bike if I can just get it sorted out! It's been frustrating
Most likely carbs, no vacuum leaks on the left cylinder, correct? The emulsion tubes were clean? You'll figure it out.
I believe your right John I just need to take time and check the carbs out better, I swapped plug wires and no difference.
Ready for the road test! Add the youtube Super Thanks to your videos if you want.
Having fueling issues! Frustrating!
Looks like you need to synchronize the carburetors in some cases you’ll need to them one at a time with the bike running, good luck with it.
