    Very nice review! I also appreciate you showing listed results in scroll down. Looks like Osram Night Breaker Lasers it is, was thinking I wanted a light closer to 5000k (like Baja Designs LEDs) but the lux output is so good I don't see a viable option. Thanks again for a scientific quantitative test.

    I have a Grand Cherokee with factory HID lamps - probably not much different than the Durango - and feel Osram Cool Blue Boost D3S bulbs are worthwhile. On the road I can definitely confirm they're at least as bright as my stock bulbs (when they were new), but with a much whiter output. Not 6000k-7000k color as advertised, but noticeably whiter. Almost LED-like which is what I was going for.

    I’ve replaced the stock 4300k xenon bulbs with the Osram CBB’s and the difference is incredible. It’s significantly brighter and whiter with no yellowishness. If you’re on the fence, get’em. Make sure to confirm they’re real through Osram’s Trust program.

    Here are my 2 cents for this Video. I ordered the OSRAM bulbs from this video after much research and ordered them from Headlight Revolution. First off. GREAT CUSTOMER service. SPOT ON. 2nd please do a video of changing them it took over an hour very hard to change on a 2013 Ford Taurus SHO. Also I finally have to say, I have had the stock Ford bulbs and tried DDM tunning bulbs because they claim they are brighter. I have to say these guys did their homework. These bulbs are by far the brightest bulb i have used (they are expensive) but the money was well worth it. Hope they last a while. These bulbs are spot on with color and with LUX rating (little less for me because of my housing), but well worth the money. Ordering was easy and only took 2 days to get to me. Thank you for doing all my homework for me.

    I’m running the osram cbb in my jag f type, and keep coming back to this video as I feel like the output isn’t bright enough. Great review. I’ve been struggling to find that perfect balance bw output and color on my jaguar f type d3s. The night breaker output was amazing, so much more light on the road and penetration in high beam but they really are just as yellow as a halogen bulb. The cbb had all the colour you’ll get from a mercury free bulb but I found they colour shifted too blue and just wasn’t a safe useable light against a black road, especially a wet road. I’m now back to the oe osrams. I’ve tried all the philips range too

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Osram bulbs are fantastic, we are fans of both the Night Breaker & CBB bulbs here. You found the CBBs to be too Blue? They hold a great 6,000k color but in a 35w HID system, I can see why to some they are a little too blue I suppose. Great comment!

    • @samcas707
      @samcas707 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Headlight Revolution yeh I think my issue is not only the lack of color you get from the d3s being mercury free, but also the bi-xenon projector JLR use. I also have the d3s in the hella projectors of my Alfa giulia qv and even with oe osram they give a whiter light, almost as white as oe d2s

    • @Levi-oq6ki
      @Levi-oq6ki 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      sam cas Did you see a noticeable improvement in visibility over stock with the cbbs in dry conditions? Dry climate here so not concerned with wet conditions, I just want better performance + whiter light than stock osram d3s bulbs.

    • @samcas707
      @samcas707 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Levi L the colour makes you think it’s brighter but it isn’t. Brightest bulbs I’ve used in my jaguar projectors were the osram night breaker xenon, but they’re just too yellow. I was thinking of pushing through and seeing if they colour change a bit whiter. Atm I’m using a brand new set of cbi’s, they seem to be a good balance bw whiter lighter and output, though in my projectors it’s more of a creamy white

      What we have found is that LEDs with covers over the LED chips tend to fail pretty early, as that Quartz cap causes the heat from the LEDs to not disperse, and overheat the bulb very quickly. We have not tested these before, but it would be interesting to see what they have to offer!

  • @snafu6548
    @snafu6548 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question: When talking about low vs high beams, does the bulb lux actually increase and decrease? I thought they were simply a single tube, electrically shuttered by the projector assembly?

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We've seen it go both ways. A lot of time the Lux doesn't change because the most intense portion of the beam is already exposed but it's more or less a larger footprint of the same intensity.

    Question! I have a 2011 Mustang with factory HIDs. The lights are ALWAYS dim. I've changed the bulb, ballast, and had them aimed properly. They improved a little but my buddies halogens are still significantly brighter. The lenses are clear. Both are equal brightness. I'm thinking the projector lens itself may be dirty on the inside but I'm not sure. What else can I look for before I drop $200+ on the nightbreakers?

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What bulbs did you replace them with? Honestly, your best bet would be to go with a better HID bulb like the nightbreaker. There are other things that you could do, but they would all cost more than the HID bulbs.

      @@HeadlightRevolution Thanks for the reply 👍🏻 I replaced my OEM bulbs (About 4500K) with an aftermarket 6000K set that looked just like the Morimotos - They were Dim, too blue (Almost purple-ish?) and pointed way lower than OEM. I then got a set of the OSRAM Cool Blue Boost 7000K and they were waaaay better. SO much brighter, and I nice absolute white with purple and blue chromatic highlights around the cut-off edge. But they were pointed higher. Even higher than my OEMs but much higher than the lower positioned Morimoto knock offs. I thought it was weird. Maybe that's just a varience between manufacuruers as to where they point? I had to adjust the lens down.
      I'm not totally happy with the color of the OSRAM HIDs (Even though they are great, I am picky) and would like them slightly cooler. LED are the perfect color temp IMO. I would like to get LEDs but a rep from your company said there are no LEDs that are better than HIDs, which, correct me if i'm wrong... is contrary to the most recent videos about the GTR Ultra 2 LEDs? I have a 2016 golf R with HID projectors, and while they're great, my wifes 2019 e-Golf with LED projectors are far better. Brighter and cooler in temp.
