BC Flood Destruction - Before & After Flood of the Century | 4K | Chilliwack River Valley Carnage

  • Another series of atmospheric rivers is rolling into the Fraser Valley (Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Hope) depositing more heavy rain on this flood ravaged region. This video shows a comparison between high water levels last week, and water levels this week after a break from the rain. The flood has changed the landscape in many places in the Chilliwack/Vedder River Valley. And the view out towards the Sumas flats is very scary with all the water still flooding the farms and homes there. More rain is expected over the coming days. More scenes of natures power.

Fire or water can cause such total devastation.. thank you for your videos as they show the true consequences of the damage. Feel so sorry for all those that are trying to pick up the pieces of their lives. Whether it be farmers or just home owners l can not imagine your losses. Take care and stay safe. You are being thought of by many.

That happened in the spring when the area is typicaly at risk from spring freshet when the snow melts. This is different and far more widespread destruction.

I'm going to start flying my drone over sections of the river so we can see what new runs have developed and what old ones are gone. Hit the sub button and bell icon to get notified of new vids.

I can promise there will be many larger "storms of the century" before the end of it. We are only a fifth of the way through and it only will get worse.
Sorry for the reality check. Feel bad for everyone affected!

The scenes are horrible.. it's the rain damage.. but almighty God must show mercy upon innocent people.
The music in the end is soothing but the scenes are a pity.
The human beings should not forget that there exists a great greater power called almighty God.
    Thanks for the video.

Thanks for that! I grew up in a house just a couple miles south of Tamahi on the Chilliwack river. Back in about 1977 or 1978 we had a flood of the Chilliwack that washed away one persons house, and took out the road about 1 km up from the vedder bridge. We were stuck up there for about a week while they repaired the road. I don't remember whether it flooded severely in sumas prairie as well, at that time. It's nice to see the old stomping grounds. Fished that river more times than I can remember.

Looking over your channel, while all the videos are great to watch, it seems lots of viewers want to see what's going on up there.
Go with that for a while...
Watch the analytics... Timing is important ...
Have you seen the TH-cam creator academy? It's really a great learning opportunity.

It's not over. Hopefully the next downpours won't be as devasting. Remember when you try watering a dried out houseplant that the water runs along the hard top of the soil and quickly out the drainage holes without wetting much of the soil. With the record dry spell these floods are like a macrocosm of that effect.

Is this sarcasm? Because this area has flooded at least twice- once in 1948 and another time in 1990.
