The sexiest weapon system ever
A-fuckin-men
nah, the mg3 is wayyy better. Shot both when i served in the german military.
@iwhdbid josksjbx MG3 fires at 1000 - 1500 rpm of 308 vs the 650 - 950 of the m240.
@iwhdbid josksjbx I’m talking about overall firepower.
@iwhdbid josksjbx Sounds like a response from a 9 year old who has been touched more times by his uncle than himself.

What’s the ammo bearer cuddling the shooter good for? Or are these two just closer than most?
That's his number 2. He's there to help feed rounds and spot the shooters tracers in order to help walk his rounds on target. We often interlock our feet together as well on this weapon system.
@@Thom1883 I watched a bunch of this type of video before buying one and this is the only one I’ve seen with the ammo bearer is basically lying on the shooter. What’s the advantage?
@@Thom1883 set at 200 mine is shooting about 36” high. Is there an adjustment I’m missing? The only screw if used would make it shoot higher. Is this just a meters vs yards issue?
nice
I looked for 20 minutes trying to find a 240 shooting at 1800 m target for my sister. Found this wonderful jem seen a gunner trying to work a T&E. Good close ups. BUT took it to Facebook and brought in 6 more MG gunners. All Marines 2000-2011 and we all think he need work and looks like a boot. O and the ammo reload and barrel change was unsat also. Now I’m wondering if one of us old farts can beat them to the target with iron sights since we did not use optics back then.
The maximum effective range of a 240 is 800m on the bipod and 1200m on the tripod. I doubt anyone would hit the broad side of a barn at 1800m. You probably won't find a video of it either. Shooting is one thing, but hitting a target is a completely different ball game. I know, I was a M60 gunner for almost 4 years.
Dan Robinson M249 saw which is a 556 NATO the same cartridges from a M-16 has a area target of 1000 meters. The M16 is 800m Acog and a Marine can do a point target at 800m. Lance Corporal Curtis made that shot with an M-16 A4. Next you’re going to be saying a 50 Cal is only accurate up to 1500 m even though the projectile goes over 3 miles. Well I’m sorry your machine gun section leader never pushed you or you were not on camp Pendleton has one and the stumps. And for a record broadside of a barn is about 60‘ x 50‘ if you can’t hit something at 60‘ x 50‘ at 2000 m with a 7.62 x 51 NATO you’re not a Marine you obviously are army. And army can’t shoot
Dan Robinson 2000-2005. Over four years. Two with 240. 2 1/2 with 50
@@MRTOOTH0331 I enlisted in 2016 in the army in 2016, POG mos, we only used T&E for our 50 cals SOMETIMES and we never used out optics on any of our weapons, irons sites all day.
best
When I qualified we had to do it on bipods no tripod system.
The last hard class obviously
Who are these pogs
Yeah but the target won’t be stationary or open in field.
Doesn't really change much. The point is to suppress the enemy so that rest of your guys can advance and kill them.

Honest question. What sort of workouts help train to carry around a 20+ lb. rifle and ammo?
Jared Daniel everything you can possibly think off
If you’re just lugging it around focus on lower back and legs. If you’re going to try to impress the ladies and shoot it off hand Trapezius and shoulders plus lower back and legs. Burpees plus jump rope is good use a nice heavy rope
Trigger squeeze 'die my die, die mf die'
Where tf is that 6-8 round burst you boot
Right?

is this the mini-me?
No this is what Brit Army call the GPMG, General Purpose Machine Gun (gimpy) 7.62mm of hell or fun, one of the most deadliest weapons in NATO upto a minimum of 900 rds/min, still in use to day, used in squads they lay down enough firepower to make anyone at the other end to think twice before getting out of there trenches.
@@hansedavion2844 i know im abit late but the m240b only fires at about 550-650 rpm. The m249 is faster but still has a max of 850.
It’s the MAG not the Minimi

why is the stock taped up?
they taped over some padding to get a higher cheek weld/rise
@@muddyhotdog4103 Either that or that’s a direct consequence of them not taking care of their guns and letting them break down. A lot of equipment in the military have parts that are over 20 years old, take the beretta m9s for example.
That's true. But the fact that they padded the hump in the spot that dishes down on an m240 stock along with using a heightened optic leads me to doubt that.
You have standard upkeep like changing out action springs or mags that can make the difference in firearms working reliably ; but then things wearing out from loose tolerances in receivers, locking surfaces ect from years of use is a whole different problem that can mean having to scrap the whole firearm in some cases or a large part of it depending on the design. Both of which were an issue of the m9s. Although that said the stock of an m240 is a critical part due to the buffer assembly and not some cosmetic part.
