I have played since NHL 93… I bought 24 when it went to half price and was still disappointed. Hockey is the only sport I care about and it’s a shame what EA does to the hockey fan base. It’s all about greed with micro transactions and people just keep preordering a game that is a glorified patch yr after year. EA will not stop because the bottom line is people keep supporting them. If you’re a person who is preordering NHL yr after yr then you’re the problem.
Same here , bought it for 40$ , played it the night I got it , put it back in the case and put NHL 20 back in there lol that was the last good hockey game they ever made , and they’ll probably never go back to that genre. Every year they try to do all these different thing a to make it seem more realistic and it’s an epic fail year after year. I don’t think I’ll ever buy another game made by EA sports
I'm a eashl player, been playing since NHL10 and the past couple years I've been playing less and less last year I didn't even get through the 10 hour trial. The matchmaking is so bad even tho we have cross play now it takes over 5 min to get into a lobby, the outdoor arena got boring after the first year, there's no progression other then leveling up to unlock skills where you need to use certain ones to be viable, i miss joining lobby and fighting over a position and the leader of thr team could pick the jerseys and everyone talked, it used to be mics on right. I miss those days
💯 We’ve been waiting on 2K hockey for too long though… Would not be surprised if 2K ever do make an nhl game again if it were to outsell EA’s NHL or at least takes over after a couple years with much better design/gameplay like years past
NHL 11 to 14 was the best period imo. Last few years were feeling more 'arcade' than 'simulation', and Hut is nothing more than gambling for idiots who think a number on card is worth anything. The ai players don't react realistically at all and have no idea what 'clearing the puck' is. They use the cheapest servers for their online gameplay and the same Frostbite engine which results in the worst online play and common crashes of any online game. Until they start with a better game engine I have little faith
I’ve realized a few years ago that the moment they put a 10 year old engine on NHL I do believe 23 i think instead of building a entirely new engine after making billions of dollars off us ik they didn’t care. They don’t care about the consumer, their product or the quality of their products

Now look at NHL for the past 10 years they can't get 12 people into a game without it randomly dropping people. the NHL engine is so far outdated it should never be used for an online game
25 is actually refreshing. I like the contract negotiations and the no move/ trade clauses being added to existing contracts and as a sweetener to get new players to sign with your team. I like that no one on the roster is a forsure signing. The gameplay itself is good, I like the slower pace where you focus more on creating plays and opportunities.
No this game definitely isn't the same as the last few years, it's worse.. I'm top 10 in points for left wingers as of right now so I've played a ton obviously.. it is absolute shit. The hitting is abysmal, the speed of the game is slower which isn't a bad thing, but they need to balance it with the other aspects of the game, which they haven't done. This game definitely caters to the hardcore player base more than any other game they've ever released. It's ass.
I downloaded a 10 hour trial. The goalies are so broken it’s not even funny. I don’t think I’ll even play this when it’s free and half a year on Game Pass
I caved in like every year and purchased it - once tweaking it and making goalies game sliders harder. It feels a lot better. But as you know a few updates in the game will change entirely and every setting you’ve had won’t matter.
Thankfully I got the game at 60% off. It's terrible. 1) Franchise was unplayable. They've given us an updated that fixed a lot of stuff but certain things still don't work well (i.e. contracts, etc...) 2) I like to create my own custom teams and the team creator is broken. The colors are all messed up. It's as if there's a different lighting for custom teams. It's amazing that they've managed to break a part of the game that wasn't broken. I've gone back to NHL 24 and will remain there unless they fix things.
The beginning of the end for EA Sports titles was modes like MUT and HUT. Any mode in any game that encourages spending more money will rule any game if given the opportunity. Unfortunately, there are major streamers that have packs paid for by their viewers and that ends up being where these modes make the majority of their money.
Yea hut is trash playing games against a team with a bunch of 90-97 rated players sucks ass the gameplay is so broken at that level and if you don’t want to spend money have fun grinding for 2 months straight and have fun playing against shit teams as a shit team.

The crazy part is I don’t even think us not buying the game really makes any difference because think of it this way. If I or you don’t purchase the game that’s about $140 out there pocket but if some kid blows thousands of dollars or even hundreds to play hut let’s say he spends $500-1,000 throughout the year that means they not only made what me & you didn’t spend but they profited as well. That’s the main reason why EA doesn’t care bro they don’t care we haven’t bought the game in 2 years because some kid playing hut or buying battle passes is gonna get them the money. The only way we can genuinely get there attention is if the people who play hut stop buying cards that’s why I’m glad nasher turned a new leaf and has been promoting not spending money on hut and just grinding it out instead of putting extra money they don’t deserve in there pockets. The only sellout is no sleeves and a few others but as im not buying until I see a real change

You can't be serious. I mean i get the nostalgia, but NHL 98, 99, the mid 2000s, NHL 12, 15.... There have been some great iterations over the years that i fondly remember and that have come a lot closer to the actual thing than NHL 94 or the most current one and that have been a lot more fun.
100% agree with you me and my friends are die hard eashl players since nhl 11 and last year was the first time we stopped playing in November and this year we played the trial on release day and got bored like 4 hours in and haven’t played since.

The best thing for EA to do is make the game free to play with a season pass. Otherwise you're paying 70$ for a game that's good for about a year before it's worth 10$ in 3-4 years.
i unfortunately had to say goodbye to NHL games after NHL 23……the series has been lack luster for a very long time. Especially for offline players like myself who play be a pro. After 21 it was literally no need to buy this game. Because the running joke was that it’s literally nothing but a roster update with minor tweaks. And even though I do think the new devs are trying to make this series somewhat of what it use to be and are somewhat attempting to make a again SOMEWHAT authentic hockey game but it’s still not worth the $70 price tag anymore and honestly I can’t even say they All the way care about the nhl series because even with the changes they’ve made like the so called change to the AI or really any change they’ve made everything always seems incomplete n unpolished n it honestly reaches a point where it’s like if us the consumers can notice glitches & bugs and faulty animations after playing 1 game it’s really no way they don’t notice these things and maybe we just have to accept the fact that they don’t care. Right now I’m playing the EA play trial and it’s somewhat enjoyable maybe because I haven’t played a NHL game in the past few years but I somewhat like it but still not worth $70 so I won’t be purchasing the game after my trial runs out. I think for me my next step is to go play nhl 04 rebuild or get my hands on 2k10 or NHL 14 or something because I miss hockey but I just can’t continue to support Ea anymore they’ve fooled me alot over the years but it’s over for me and even if they claim to make a bunch of changes next year I’ll do what I did last year and this year get my ea play trial try it out and if it doesn’t make the cut it just doesn’t make it but I’m honestly not expecting any real changes to the game for at least another 3-5 years even with the new dev team because the game was in such a rough spot that it’ll be years but until then they won’t get my money or support and hopefully us as a community stand together and not buy this game anymore if they don’t wanna listen we won’t buy there games simple
I been playin since 09 the first release of 6v6 clubs and OTP. 09-12 great times. I didnt play 15-17. 18 was ok. 19-21 gave me hope and than since 22 til now it is absolutely fkn absurd how it literally seems to not only get more trash but the devs seem to only take away the things that make the game FUN instead of fixing problems smh . So im right there with you bro. They really fkd up by not bringing on 2k's devs when they bought out 2k nhl back in the day
I don't even recognize OTP anymore. I don't even know how to get in the game. When ever the first OTP came out, those first few years was the best run for NHL. It was so basic and easy. No create a player or any of that non sense. At first it was cool but then it just became meta and the same builds. Bring back playing with real teams and realistic stats. The gameplay was so much better.
I've been playing the game since NHL 98, but it's only been in the last two years that I've gotten really excited about it. The two reasons were the own AI's uncontrolled belly sliding on the ice, including the pointless shooting of the puck across the ice when it received a pass, and the unrealistic, short tap passes to the opposing AI.
The game actually has so much potential but it's huge miss fire by EA currently. Not to mention lot of players are still experiencing the online having weird delay even with low ping.
Ah yes used my 10 hours to watch this “new” game and it’s updated goal horns and Washington turned me away quicker than I uninstalled the game in 3 hours
The game feels and plays differently from nhl 24. The ai actually feels kinda smooth and skating with the puck feels better. The new skating mechanic is fun but can be a bit wonky. The changes in hut are gonna take time to get used to but it will always be a money grabbing game mode. The new one timers are definitely broken and will need to get nerfed. But in general I do feel this game is an improvement to nhl 24. Next year however there will be no excuses to not re make franchise and be a pro.

NHL 14 on PS3 was the greatest hockey game available....custom music, great gameplay, it looked like hockey....NHL 15 to NHL 25....it doesn't look like NHL Hockey, it just doesn't have the right feel to it

I love this game. Just started playing again 4 months ago and I’m top ranked in online versus. Prior to this year and the very end of last year I hadn’t played a NHL game since 2015. Glad they slowed the game speed down. Makes you use IQ and actually play hockey. Instead of speeding passed people every play with no moves or good passing.
The only thing that feels remotely different are the skill based one timers. I've noticed my AI teammates opening themselves up to get into a good position for them which is kinda nice. Also feels alot slower. Feels like they want more plays set up and cycling the puck instead of rush plays. Other then that though same stuff with a different number on the case 😂
More plays setup=they want one timers that go in every shot to be the only viable way to play the game. Cross crease cheese and One Tees. Get good at those and you dominate. Just a horrible game overall
The major point is EA have no compétition if 2K sport was still doing hockey games, EA would have improve more.... but without competition they put no effort and serve the same shit year after year...

I agree with what you said. I think a lot of people who agree that it’s a good game in its state are people who just started playing nhl around 2015. Whereas people like you and me played nhl since 2007/2008. The NHL game has only gotten worse as the years go. That’s why a lot of the older players fell away from the franchise. Perfect example is watching Regulators vs Purple cobraz NHL Championship from 2010 on TH-cam. Now that’s hockey.
Played about 8 hours and the game sucks! Probably the worst NHL game I've played. Last I played was NHL19 and the game was fluid and fun. NHL25 is a grind. Difficult to score goals, difficult to make a PASS, and skating feels robotic and not smooth unless you have 99 ovr speed. Definitely will be my last NHL game unless older changes are brought back. Wish I could have bought this on Steam so I could return it.
The last NHL game i played was 08, then i stopped. Recently i wanted to pick up again, so i got NHL 24 and literally have no idea how to even play. AFAIK there is no tutorial, you can look at the controls but without knowing how to use them it's useless. I couldnt even tell how to faceoff, so i always just lose. world of warcraft has so many expansions, lore and changes over the last 21 years and even it's more beginner friendly than NHL

I would love to believe, to hope, that the battle passes don't make sense to the younger generations either... I hope it's just a mad rush of CEOs and executives that will ultimately collapse on itself. TL:DR; - rant about the insanity of yearly releases I hate that the game stays almost entirely the same.I own NHL24, 22 and 20. They all look almost exactly the same, play almost exactly the same, sound absolutely exactly the same. Sure, they have a mode or two on top of the base game, but I'm supposed to pay for that every year? I don't understand why they don't release a "platform" version of NHL and then spend 5 years just letting you download latest rosters, fixing bugs, adding features, whatever. In that case, a battle-pass would actually make sense. Because you buy the game once and just subscribe for updates and new features. And then in 5 years, sure, sell me the new long-term release and put more work into that.
Idk bro it feels and looks pretty dang crisp. The new skating adds so much fluidity to the game not just walking the blue line but making moves all the way through the zone. Stick handling is responsive to go with that. I think theyre doing great. I can snap passes around the zone and make moves in an instant. Im just playing online versus though. No extra game modes. As far as it being a hockey sim they seem to be moving in the right direction. Really enjoyable in my opinion and they’re only going to keep improving. To add a final note to this… the constant crying from the community is only a smack in the face to the people who put in work to improve the game. Its the only hockey franchise we have and all anyone wants to do its take a steaming dump on it the second they showcase anything. Those who are good at the game will instantly feel the improvements they’ve made. Its a blast IMO.

While I agree with your points about how they arent moving the game forward enough each year to justify the price point, you can enjoy this game without being a part of the problem, and I dont think people should stop playing. I dont play online. I play GM mode, couch coop with a friend, and mess around in free skate while watching movies or shows on another monitor. My rotation isnt september - september, my rotation is november/december - november/december. During those months il find deals for 20-30 dollars. For 20-30 dollars I get a couple hundred hours of hockey gameplay every year, thats very solid for me.
I refunded it they basically removed any way to play d, cant poke check without a penalty, cant check to stop ballerina skating around the blue line, and cant stick check either, idk im.not bad at the game but, its not worth it imo

We also need to get released a beta for every player who has bought or played the previous NHL games seems like the people who only get early access or pro streamers and players and Winnie does make a change it's only towards them like I said in my previous comment I have horrible ADHD and a comment as the video goes but it's all about money and greed and it seems like to me the gaming industry is just in a bad shape and pro streamers are making a boatload of money and they don't want to speak up and talk negative about the games because they're too worried they'll get their account banned from twitch or whatever it is and that's another problem too
The way they can fix that fight between two generations is give us a more realistic hockey game for example day to day one timers in NHL 25 go in 95% of the time In real life if you look up that stat those goals only go in about 3 to 4% of the time in real life NHL I understand they can't give us an exact realistic copy but come on that's a little ridiculous
I've been playing since NHL 17 and this is by far the worst year we've had the hitting sucks the switching players sucks only goals that really go in our one timers especially D to D one timers the XP path rewards suck everybody gets the same cards I used to love to grind hours and hours a day but it's really worthless because the rewards are not worth it they should have never added the b&D cards because they become irrelevant especially when that's a reward that they give you I mean there's a fantasy hockey pack that's $8,000 NHL points which is about 90 US dollars and the whole pack is b&D and that stupid in my opinion BND cars ruined Madden and it's going to ruin NHL but until the professional players and streamers start actually speaking up and people stop buying the game especially at the price they asked for every year nothing is going to change but if you're like me and love hockey cuz I played it for 12 years in real life is only sport I watch and keep up with then you really have no choice but the gaming industry is in a big bind as well 4 years to develop Black ops 6 and that game is horrendous too The maps are small repetitive there's no three or four lanes there's no flanks everything's wide open
I have purchased and played EA NHL games ever since the very first incarnation which was NHL 92. Every single year I pray it gets better and every year they improve something and they really mess up some other things and it is a continual cycle of disappointment year upon, these games are produced by incompetent people who never played a real sport before.. like Sean Ramjagsingh and have absolutely zero real life, hockey knowledge or experience and that is who you get to play against when you were playing online because the only people playing online for the most part are those to watch TH-cam videos on how to glitch use a silly Arcadish game
I played NHL Games from NHL 07 to NHL23. Im a franchise mode player. I skip NHL 24 ,but preorder NHL25 for the franchise mode. 1 year break was good but i kind of miss siming and building a dynastie.

I got 24 as my first nhl game I don't understand the controls as much as I tried I played nhl 25 and I see the same everything and barely any difference I never wanted to buy into it but nhl 24 was like 20 at the time and I was a sucker for having jack Hughes on the cover

It's not stuck between two generations. It's stuck between two different players. The one who give EA millions of dollars and the ones who like a good hockey game. They will all day go with putting more effort into hut then anything else. Be a pro hasn't changed since NHL 21, the equipment you can pick from hasn't changed since.... NHL 14 at the very least. The new pivot or L2 button move isn't all that it's cracked to be. The AI in be a pro are still dumb, always out of position, always puck watching and bunching up towards the puck. You can pick the type of faceoff you want, or to be aggressive on the force check or to be conservative, or picking to play a certain system. You don't play in the AHL anymore... Which why even have the AHL teams in the game if you can't even play on them in be a pro. You can no longer play a few seasons in the CHL like you used to, which again why have the CHL teams in the game. Heck why have any teams other the NHL teams if you aren't going to implement them into anything. Winter classic is missing and has been missing for 10 years now. The commentary team is the worst it's ever been. I thought playing a few games with Gary thorn was bad... This is worse. There is just way to many features that is missing that older titles implemented and added every year. NHL 14 is the prime example of a good EA NHL experience. Then NHL 15 totally wiped all that out and we haven't even gotten to the same level as 14.
Last played NHL 23 on PS4. Got NHL 25 on PS5. It's basically the same game but worse. Probably will sell it soon to get most of my $$$ back. It really is a lazy effort.

25 is actually refreshing. I like the contract negotiations and the no move/ trade clauses being added to existing contracts and as a sweetener to get new players to sign with your team. I like that no one on the roster is a forsure signing. The gameplay itself is good, I like the slower pace where you focus more on creating plays and opportunities.

No this game definitely isn't the same as the last few years, it's worse.. I'm top 10 in points for left wingers as of right now so I've played a ton obviously.. it is absolute shit. The hitting is abysmal, the speed of the game is slower which isn't a bad thing, but they need to balance it with the other aspects of the game, which they haven't done. This game definitely caters to the hardcore player base more than any other game they've ever released. It's ass.

I caved in like every year and purchased it - once tweaking it and making goalies game sliders harder. It feels a lot better. But as you know a few updates in the game will change entirely and every setting you’ve had won’t matter.

1) Franchise was unplayable. They've given us an updated that fixed a lot of stuff but certain things still don't work well (i.e. contracts, etc...)
2) I like to create my own custom teams and the team creator is broken. The colors are all messed up. It's as if there's a different lighting for custom teams. It's amazing that they've managed to break a part of the game that wasn't broken.
I've gone back to NHL 24 and will remain there unless they fix things.

The beginning of the end for EA Sports titles was modes like MUT and HUT. Any mode in any game that encourages spending more money will rule any game if given the opportunity. Unfortunately, there are major streamers that have packs paid for by their viewers and that ends up being where these modes make the majority of their money.

The crazy part is I don’t even think us not buying the game really makes any difference because think of it this way. If I or you don’t purchase the game that’s about $140 out there pocket but if some kid blows thousands of dollars or even hundreds to play hut let’s say he spends $500-1,000 throughout the year that means they not only made what me & you didn’t spend but they profited as well. That’s the main reason why EA doesn’t care bro they don’t care we haven’t bought the game in 2 years because some kid playing hut or buying battle passes is gonna get them the money. The only way we can genuinely get there attention is if the people who play hut stop buying cards that’s why I’m glad nasher turned a new leaf and has been promoting not spending money on hut and just grinding it out instead of putting extra money they don’t deserve in there pockets. You can't be serious. I mean i get the nostalgia, but NHL 98, 99, the mid 2000s, NHL 12, 15.... There have been some great iterations over the years that i fondly remember and that have come a lot closer to the actual thing than NHL 94 or the most current one and that have been a lot more fun.

i unfortunately had to say goodbye to NHL games after NHL 23……the series has been lack luster for a very long time. Especially for offline players like myself who play be a pro. After 21 it was literally no need to buy this game. Because the running joke was that it’s literally nothing but a roster update with minor tweaks. And even though I do think the new devs are trying to make this series somewhat of what it use to be and are somewhat attempting to make a again SOMEWHAT authentic hockey game but it’s still not worth the $70 price tag anymore and honestly I can’t even say they All the way care about the nhl series because even with the changes they’ve made like the so called change to the AI or really any change they’ve made everything always seems incomplete n unpolished n it honestly reaches a point where it’s like if us the consumers can notice glitches & bugs and faulty animations after playing 1 game it’s really no way they don’t notice these things and maybe we just have to accept the fact that they don’t care. Right now I’m playing the EA play trial and it’s somewhat enjoyable maybe because I haven’t played a NHL game in the past few years but I somewhat like it but still not worth $70 so I won’t be purchasing the game after my trial runs out. I been playin since 09 the first release of 6v6 clubs and OTP. 09-12 great times. I didnt play 15-17. 18 was ok. 19-21 gave me hope and than since 22 til now it is absolutely fkn absurd how it literally seems to not only get more trash but the devs seem to only take away the things that make the game FUN instead of fixing problems smh . So im right there with you bro. They really fkd up by not bringing on 2k's devs when they bought out 2k nhl back in the day
I don't even recognize OTP anymore. I don't even know how to get in the game. When ever the first OTP came out, those first few years was the best run for NHL. It was so basic and easy. No create a player or any of that non sense. At first it was cool but then it just became meta and the same builds. Bring back playing with real teams and realistic stats. The gameplay was so much better.
I've been playing the game since NHL 98, but it's only been in the last two years that I've gotten really excited about it. The two reasons were the own AI's uncontrolled belly sliding on the ice, including the pointless shooting of the puck across the ice when it received a pass, and the unrealistic, short tap passes to the opposing AI.
The game actually has so much potential but it's huge miss fire by EA currently. Not to mention lot of players are still experiencing the online having weird delay even with low ping.

The game feels and plays differently from nhl 24. The ai actually feels kinda smooth and skating with the puck feels better. The new skating mechanic is fun but can be a bit wonky. The changes in hut are gonna take time to get used to but it will always be a money grabbing game mode. The new one timers are definitely broken and will need to get nerfed. But in general I do feel this game is an improvement to nhl 24. Next year however there will be no excuses to not re make franchise and be a pro.

NHL 14 on PS3 was the greatest hockey game available....custom music, great gameplay, it looked like hockey....NHL 15 to NHL 25....it doesn't look like NHL Hockey, it just doesn't have the right feel to it
The competitive matchmaking is horrendously noncompetitive. That's the only mode I even play. I may get NHL 26 if I see some much needed improvements.

I love this game. Just started playing again 4 months ago and I’m top ranked in online versus. Prior to this year and the very end of last year I hadn’t played a NHL game since 2015. Glad they slowed the game speed down. Makes you use IQ and actually play hockey. Instead of speeding passed people every play with no moves or good passing.

The only thing that feels remotely different are the skill based one timers. I've noticed my AI teammates opening themselves up to get into a good position for them which is kinda nice. Also feels alot slower. Feels like they want more plays set up and cycling the puck instead of rush plays. Other then that though same stuff with a different number on the case 😂
More plays setup=they want one timers that go in every shot to be the only viable way to play the game. Cross crease cheese and One Tees. Get good at those and you dominate. Just a horrible game overall

I agree with what you said. I think a lot of people who agree that it’s a good game in its state are people who just started playing nhl around 2015. Whereas people like you and me played nhl since 2007/2008. The NHL game has only gotten worse as the years go. That’s why a lot of the older players fell away from the franchise. Perfect example is watching Regulators vs Purple cobraz NHL Championship from 2010 on TH-cam. Now that’s hockey.
Played about 8 hours and the game sucks! Probably the worst NHL game I've played. Last I played was NHL19 and the game was fluid and fun.
NHL25 is a grind. Difficult to score goals, difficult to make a PASS, and skating feels robotic and not smooth unless you have 99 ovr speed. Definitely will be my last NHL game unless older changes are brought back. Wish I could have bought this on Steam so I could return it.
The last NHL game i played was 08, then i stopped. Recently i wanted to pick up again, so i got NHL 24 and literally have no idea how to even play. AFAIK there is no tutorial, you can look at the controls but without knowing how to use them it's useless. I couldnt even tell how to faceoff, so i always just lose. world of warcraft has so many expansions, lore and changes over the last 21 years and even it's more beginner friendly than NHL

I hate that the game stays almost entirely the same.I own NHL24, 22 and 20. They all look almost exactly the same, play almost exactly the same, sound absolutely exactly the same. Sure, they have a mode or two on top of the base game, but I'm supposed to pay for that every year? I don't understand why they don't release a "platform" version of NHL and then spend 5 years just letting you download latest rosters, fixing bugs, adding features, whatever. In that case, a battle-pass would actually make sense. Because you buy the game once and just subscribe for updates and new features. And then in 5 years, sure, sell me the new long-term release and put more work into that.

Idk bro it feels and looks pretty dang crisp. The new skating adds so much fluidity to the game not just walking the blue line but making moves all the way through the zone. Stick handling is responsive to go with that. I think theyre doing great. I can snap passes around the zone and make moves in an instant. Im just playing online versus though. No extra game modes. As far as it being a hockey sim they seem to be moving in the right direction. Really enjoyable in my opinion and they’re only going to keep improving.
To add a final note to this… the constant crying from the community is only a smack in the face to the people who put in work to improve the game. Its the only hockey franchise we have and all anyone wants to do its take a steaming dump on it the second they showcase anything. Those who are good at the game will instantly feel the improvements they’ve made. Its a blast IMO.

I have played every year since NHL 98, and this is the first time I can say the game truly feels like a downgrade from last year. It plays slower, I can honestly say that NHL 24 on PS4 is better than NHL 25 on PS5.

My rotation isnt september - september, my rotation is november/december - november/december. During those months il find deals for 20-30 dollars. For 20-30 dollars I get a couple hundred hours of hockey gameplay every year, thats very solid for me.

I've been playing since NHL 17 and this is by far the worst year we've had the hitting sucks the switching players sucks only goals that really go in our one timers especially D to D one timers the XP path rewards suck everybody gets the same cards I used to love to grind hours and hours a day but it's really worthless because the rewards are not worth it they should have never added the b&D cards because they become irrelevant especially when that's a reward that they give you I mean there's a fantasy hockey pack that's $8,000 NHL points which is about 90 US dollars and the whole pack is b&D and that stupid in my opinion BND cars ruined Madden and it's going to ruin NHL but until the professional players and streamers start actually speaking up and people stop buying the game especially at the price they asked for every year nothing is going to change but if you're like me and love hockey cuz I played it for 12 years in real life is only sport I watch and keep up with then you really have no choice but the gaming industry is in a big bind as well 4 years to develop Black ops 6 and that game is horrendous too The maps are small repetitive there's no three or four lanes there's no flanks everything's wide open

It's not stuck between two generations. It's stuck between two different players. The one who give EA millions of dollars and the ones who like a good hockey game. They will all day go with putting more effort into hut then anything else. Be a pro hasn't changed since NHL 21, the equipment you can pick from hasn't changed since.... NHL 14 at the very least. The new pivot or L2 button move isn't all that it's cracked to be. The AI in be a pro are still dumb, always out of position, always puck watching and bunching up towards the puck. You can pick the type of faceoff you want, or to be aggressive on the force check or to be conservative, or picking to play a certain system. You don't play in the AHL anymore... Which why even have the AHL teams in the game if you can't even play on them in be a pro. You can no longer play a few seasons in the CHL like you used to, which again why have the CHL teams in the game. Heck why have any teams other the NHL teams if you aren't going to implement them into anything. Winter classic is missing and has been missing for 10 years now. The commentary team is the worst it's ever been. I thought playing a few games with Gary thorn was bad... This is worse. There is just way to many features that is missing that older titles implemented and added every year. NHL 14 is the prime example of a good EA NHL experience. Then NHL 15 totally wiped all that out and we haven't even gotten to the same level as 14.

Last played NHL 23 on PS4. Got NHL 25 on PS5. It's basically the same game but worse. Probably will sell it soon to get most of my $$$ back. It really is a lazy effort.
I haven’t bought a nhl game since 23 because they get boring after a week so for the past 2 years I only play the EA Play trials just to try it out that’s how I’ve been playing 25 my advice get you a ps3 n buy nhl 2k10 or nhl 14 and don’t buy any nhl games for the next 3-4 years
This year the gameplay has been much better compared to than last year and the past few years. However hut is still a money grab and people that make the content for hut do not know what they are doing and your right they do not care about gm connected, they only care about the modes they can make money off of like hut and world of chel. Like I said it’s just a money grab at this point.
When the actual players in the game are open about how much the games suck now, you know this series is too far gone. Do not give this series money.
If they remove the skill stick I’ll never buy this game again. They already fucked up backskating and the 24 “backskating” was a fucking joke. “It was broken though” ok then fix the fucking game and the glitch goals instead of removing features.
